    Chapter 109: Invited for Tea

    Well, well.

With the noise from last night, Shen Fei didn’t even have to think about it to know something serious was bound to happen.

But he still played dumb and asked, “Don’t be so agitated, take your time and tell me what happened?”

“Bro Fei, do you remember Jia Tong?” Jiang Tiancheng’s voice trembled.

    “Yeah,” Shen Fei replied softly.

“Jia… Jia Tong was… was chopped to death!” Jiang Tiancheng’s voice came through the phone.

Even though Shen Fei couldn’t see him, he could feel the terror and fear in Jiang Tiancheng’s heart.

“What?!” Shen Fei was somewhat surprised to hear that Jia Tong had been killed.

He thought Jia Tong would at most be beaten into a vegetative state or disabled.

“We left, and right after we did, a large group of people, armed with sticks and such, rushed into Junyue Pavilion. Those people were called by the girls Jia Tong had insulted. At first, they didn’t intend to fight, but Jia Tong, being insane, grabbed a fruit knife and aimed it at one of the girl’s pursuers, which enraged them!”

“It could have been settled easily, but those people had been drinking, and after seeing blood, they started beating Jia Tong up. In the chaos, someone grabbed a knife and stabbed Jia Tong thirty times!”

“Bro Fei, do you know what thirty stabs means? Even an iron man would be sliced up badly! Jia Tong bled out on the spot and went into shock, and despite attempts to resuscitate him, he died. And Xu Jinhao was beaten into a cripple! Damn, just thinking about it, my heart is still racing…”

Jiang Tiancheng recounted everything that happened last night.

After he finished, he was still shaken.

He had seen photos from the scene.

Jia Tong, lying in a pool of blood; Xu Jinhao, whose flesh had been torn apart; and the chaos all over the floor…

If they hadn’t listened to Shen Fei last night and stayed there, they would have been among the people caught up in the incident!

Even now, just thinking about it, Jiang Tiancheng couldn’t stop shivering.

That fear spread through his heart, leaving him in a daze for quite some time.

Thank God! They had left early!

“That serious?” Shen Fei was puzzled.

The situation had escalated beyond his expectations.

It made him reflect on whether this change was a result of his participation, causing a butterfly effect, or if the version he had heard from his past life had been embellished.

“Yes! Junyue Pavilion has been sealed off! That group of people was taken away! Since the victims were children of influential figures in Deep City, the authorities are paying close attention. The city leaders even dispatched a lot of police forces to assist in the investigation. However, to calm the public, the version of events that’s been circulated won’t be as bloody!” Jiang Tiancheng spoke solemnly.

Suddenly, as if remembering something, he gasped and said to Shen Fei, “Bro Fei, we were there last night too. It won’t be long before the investigators… “

At that moment, there was a knock at the door.

Shen Fei immediately interrupted Jiang Tiancheng, “Speak of the devil, and the devil comes!”

Without hanging up, Shen Fei went to open the door.

The person at the door was exactly who Shen Fei expected — an investigator.

Wearing a standard police uniform, the investigator looked at Shen Fei in surprise and asked quietly, “Are you Shen Fei?”

It wasn’t just one officer who was surprised. The whole scene felt strange.

Junyue Pavilion was an upscale entertainment club designed specifically for the wealthy and influential people of Deep City.

So anyone who went there would have to be rich or influential.

How could someone who lived in such a shabby, chaotic environment also drive a luxury car?

    “Yes,” Shen Fei nodded slightly.

“We’re from the city police department.”

The investigator showed his ID and then asked, “From 9:30 PM to 2 AM last night, were you on the fifth floor of Junyue Pavilion?”

    “Yes,” Shen Fei replied calmly.

“Do you know that a riot broke out at Junyue Pavilion at 3 AM?” The investigator stared intently at Shen Fei’s face for any reaction.

“Not really,” Shen Fei responded calmly.

“We need you to come with us for some questions,” the investigator said, still unsure how to handle Shen Fei’s calmness.

    “Okay.”

Upon hearing that, Shen Fei simply nodded.

Returning to the room, Shen Fei then pulled out his phone.

“Alright, no need to talk, I’ve been invited for tea!”

With that, he hung up the phone.

His series of actions left the police officers in awe.

Most people would panic at being invited for “tea,” but Shen Fei remained so indifferent.

    It was rather odd.

Downstairs, Shen Fei suddenly asked, “Can I drive my own car?”

“Of course!” one of the officers responded.

Without another word, Shen Fei went to his G-Wagon, took out the key, and got in.

    The officers were stunned.

A person who could afford to drive such a car and visit Junyue Pavilion was living in such a place?

    It was completely mismatched.

Meanwhile, hearing Shen Fei’s words, Jiang Tiancheng felt uneasy.

Even though being invited for “tea” was a normal part of the investigation process, and Shen Fei was likely to have no issues, Jiang Tiancheng couldn’t just ignore it now that he knew about it.

After all, Shen Fei had helped him so much.

Even if he had to go just to provide backup and gain some courage, he was willing to.

Without hesitation, Jiang Tiancheng immediately called the others.

Hu Yuantai, Duan Guxiang, Jin Liyao, Zhou Zhengji.

    He didn’t forget anyone.

As soon as Jiang Tiancheng mentioned it, everyone agreed to join him.

Even though they hadn’t been officially called in for questioning yet.

The most moved were Jin Liyao and Zhou Zhengji.

If Shen Fei hadn’t helped them last night, they definitely would have been among those caught up in the incident.

Especially that crazy Jia Tong, who might have even thrown them under the bus to take the heat.

If that had happened, they wouldn’t be standing here today—they’d be lying in the hospital instead.

It was clear that they had some self-awareness and made the right guess.

Without Shen Fei, they would have ended up dead or severely disabled.
