by MarineTLChapter 148: Han Lixin’s Wedding Day!
“What are you standing around for? Go home now! You’re always worrying people!”
Seeing Han Lixin not moving to leave, Shen Fei scolded him sternly.
Hearing this, Han Lixin looked surprised.
He hadn’t done anything, so how was he causing trouble again? And why did Shen Fei get to boss him around?
Shen Fei had no idea about Han Lixin’s complaints. If he had known, he would’ve surely smacked him on the head.
“Fine! Save your good intentions for my sister. If you dare bully her again, it’s you who’ll get beaten!” Han Lixin retorted with a glare.
However, compared to before, his tone had softened considerably. There was no trace of his earlier defiance or desire to intimidate Shen Fei.
“Alright, you probably won’t have the chance again! Enough talking, hurry home and get some rest. You’ll be busy tomorrow!” Shen Fei waved him off impatiently.
Han Lixin let out a cold snort and signaled his group, those who had joined him in the fight, to leave with him.
Watching Han Lixin’s retreating figure, Shen Fei sighed in reflection.
His feelings toward Han Lixin were mostly gratitude.
Back when Shen Fei married Han Xinyan, it was Han Lixin who secretly helped him by stealing the family’s household registry, enabling Shen Fei and Han Xinyan to get their marriage certificate.
Even after Shen Fei’s failed business venture, Han Lixin treated him the same, still calling him “brother-in-law.” Han Lixin’s acceptance even softened the attitude of his parents-in-law, who had disliked Shen Fei.
Later, when Shen Fei fell into gambling and became a complete mess, Han Lixin still secretly helped him, even risking his personal credit to take out a 50,000 yuan loan for Shen Fei.
No one else knew this—neither his in-laws nor Han Xinyan.
It was Shen Fei’s repeated failures and disregard for the chances given to him that finally disappointed Han Lixin, turning his care into anger and insults.
Shen Fei always remembered these things.
Even when Han Lixin criticized him, Shen Fei never held a grudge because, aside from Han Xinyan, Han Lixin was the second person who had cared about him.
Snapping out of his thoughts, Shen Fei shook his head helplessly, then drove back to Yunhe Villa.
It was already past midnight when he arrived.
As he opened the door, he found the living room lights still on.
“Why are you still up?” Shen Fei asked gently, seeing Han Xinyan waiting for him.
“I was waiting for you to come home!” Han Xinyan smiled and handed him a glass of honey water. “Here, sober up!”
“I didn’t drink. Just dealt with some things,” Shen Fei said truthfully, but he still took the glass and downed it in one go.
Sitting on the sofa, he teased, “You think we’ve infiltrated their ranks now?”
“Look at you being smug. The favors you owe might as well be ticking time bombs,” Han Xinyan reminded him softly, seeing his triumphant expression.
Shen Fei simply smiled.
Having been reborn, he wasn’t worried about such things. After all, who could compare to his abilities? If anything, Zhong Qi owed him a life—he’d probably be repaying Shen Fei forever.
“Alright, since you’re home, I’ll head to bed. I’ll call you tomorrow before the wedding starts. Get some rest!” Han Xinyan said.
“Okay.”
Shen Fei nodded. After hesitating for a moment, he chose not to tell Han Xinyan about the incident with Han Lixin earlier that night.

While Shen Fei drifted into sleep, the group chat of Class 2, Grade 9 from Shenzhen No. 1 Middle School buzzed with activity.
Despite the late hour, the conversation remained lively.
After days of preparation, the funds for their class reunion had been finalized at 60,000 yuan. With the time and location set, even their respected homeroom teacher and other former teachers joined the group.
“Where’s Shen Fei? 😊😊” the homeroom teacher asked as soon as they joined the chat.
“Teacher, Shen Fei already left the group!”
“Teacher, why are you looking for Shen Fei?”
“Teacher, aren’t we good enough?”
“Don’t get excited, everyone 😊. I just wanted to check in and see how Shen Fei’s been doing after graduation. It’s been years since I last heard from him. 😊”
“Teacher, forget about Shen Fei. He’s a mess now!”
“Yeah, I heard he gambles all the time and even has debts he can’t pay off.”
“What a shame. He had such a bright future, but he ruined it himself.”
“Enough! I think Shen Fei was always arrogant, thinking he’d become a dragon but ending up a worm instead!”
If the teachers hadn’t been in the group, the comments would’ve been even harsher. As it was, they held back slightly.
“😲😲 How could that be? He was such a positive and motivated student! Does anyone have his contact information?”
“I don’t. Shen Fei once borrowed money from me, so I deleted him.”
“I don’t either. He deleted me first!”
“He probably doesn’t dare show his face anymore…”
—
Unaware of this, Shen Fei slept soundly. Even if he had known, he wouldn’t have cared. There was no need to reconnect with classmates like that.

The Next Day
It was Han Lixin’s wedding day.
Because Shen Jiayue was going to be the flower girl, Han Xinyan left early, but not before thoughtfully leaving breakfast for Shen Fei.
Seeing the breakfast, Shen Fei smiled.
While eating, he suddenly recalled that in his past life, Han Lixin had never married Li Li. Even when they reconnected after Shen Fei’s success, Han Lixin had still been single.
In this life, Han Lixin was marrying Li Li—likely because of the 500,000 yuan Shen Fei had provided.
But would their marriage really be happy?
Given Li Li’s demanding nature, how could it be?
Still, Han Lixin was determined, and both Han Jian and Zhang Xiulian wanted Li Li to join their family. Even if Shen Fei wanted to stop it, he couldn’t. Doing so might even make the Han family dislike him more.
“Sigh… I’ll just leave it to fate. I hope Li Li can come to her senses sooner rather than later,” Shen Fei muttered helplessly.
Pushing aside thoughts of Han Lixin, Shen Fei drove to Longguang Media to handle some matters.
It wasn’t until 11:30 AM that he received a call from Han Xinyan.
After a quick tidy-up, Shen Fei set off for the Kade Li Hotel where the wedding was being held.
