    Chapter 127: A 20,000 Yuan Entry Fee?

    The next day.

On the way to drop off Han Xinyan at work, she suggested, “Shen Fei, how about you buy me a Ruihu around 100,000 yuan? That way, I can drive myself in the future, and it won’t be so troublesome for you!”

Shen Fei teased, “What? Are you tired of me already?”

After last night, their relationship had progressed significantly. Shen Fei had started to be more daring with his playful remarks.

Han Xinyan replied, “How could I be? Once your career takes off, will you still be able to drive us every day?”

Shen Fei, realizing she was joking, smiled. “Well, it’s not like it’s urgent now! I’m happy to drive you to work and pick up Shen Jiayue from school. I enjoy it!”

“Anyway, I still need to practice my driving skills. Otherwise, it’ll be a hassle for you to drive me everywhere in the future.”

Seeing Han Xinyan’s response, Shen Fei didn’t press further.

“Then why buy a new car? Just drive this one!” Shen Fei suggested.

“No, this one’s yours! And besides, I’m a female driver. If I scratch this expensive car, I’ll feel too bad! If we get a Ruihu, it’s only a few tens of thousands; even if it gets damaged, I won’t feel heartbroken!”

After a brief pause, Han Xinyan added, “Plus, if I drive such a nice car to work, people will start gossiping. It’s better to buy a more modest car.”

Shen Fei didn’t respond right away, letting the conversation settle. After a while, he said, “Han Xinyan, I wasn’t suggesting that. What I meant was, why not leave your current job with Hu Yuantai? We can start our own company in the future; we should keep the profits for ourselves!”

Han Xinyan thought for a moment and replied, “Let’s wait until the scar ointment is ready for production, then I’ll quit. No rush.”

“Alright!” Shen Fei nodded, understanding her cautious approach. He knew Han Xinyan was a low-risk investor, and she wouldn’t quit until she was sure the product was viable.

“But, do you think the Ruihu is too cheap?” Shen Fei asked.

“It’s fine. It’s mainly because I haven’t driven in a long time. My driving skills are rusty, and I’m not sure if I’ll be good at it. I’ll practice, and once your scar ointment business takes off, my driving will improve, and we can buy a better car!”

    Han Xinyan quickly reassured him.

Shen Fei decided to go along with her suggestion.

After dropping Han Xinyan at work, he drove to a nearby 4S dealership. When he returned to Yunhe Villa’s parking lot, he realized what had been bothering him: all the luxury cars in the lot were worth millions, and the Ruihu, priced under 150,000 yuan, stood out as out of place.

In the evening, after picking up both Han Xinyan and Shen Jiayue, they went to a shopping mall and bought many household items. But as the night wore on, Shen Fei’s desire hadn’t been extinguished.

It wasn’t that Han Xinyan was unwilling. Since Shen Jiayue was born, they had been sleeping in separate beds. Their needs had built up, and with Shen Fei by her side, the fire was hard to ignore. However, being in a new environment, and with Shen Jiayue still being young, every time they were about to get closer, they were interrupted.

Two days passed, and Han Xinyan had adapted to living in Yunhe Villa. Under Shen Fei’s care, her driving skills also improved. By the third day, she was able to drive the Ruihu perfectly on her own.

Meanwhile, since their last meeting, Tang Xingwen had not contacted Shen Fei again, not even with a progress update. Normally, this would cause anyone to panic, thinking Tang Xingwen had run off with the money. But Shen Fei, now reincarnated, trusted Tang Xingwen and wasn’t worried.

Shen Fei hadn’t been idle, though. He had registered the trademarks for “Xinyue Group” and the “Yuexin” series, with the help of Jiang Tiancheng. Everything was set up, and now he was just waiting for Tang Xingwen’s report on the progress.

    The next day.

    The sky was clear.

In the lobby of a high-end hotel in Shenzhen, a banner reading “Wan Ze Group and Archaeological Research Institute’s Antique Auction, Session Seven” hung prominently.

Shen Fei arrived, looking at the banner with amusement. This was the opportunity he had been waiting for. Since he didn’t have an invitation, he paid a 20,000 yuan entry fee to gain access.

“Fei Ge? Damn, you’re here?” A familiar voice called out.

Shen Fei turned to find Jiang Tiancheng, surprised. “You’re here too?”

Jiang Tiancheng replied, “A friend dragged me here, but they bailed on me last minute! I was about to leave when I saw you!”

Shen Fei smiled faintly but didn’t engage in the conversation further. It seemed like they had a strange fate.

“But Fei Ge, why did you come to this auction?” Jiang Tiancheng asked, puzzled.

Shen Fei shrugged. “I saw the sign and got curious. Paid the 20,000 yuan entry fee to get in.”

“Damn, this auction? 20,000 yuan just to get in? Isn’t that a scam? Fei Ge, why didn’t you call me? I could’ve gotten you an invitation. With this small-time auction, I could’ve gotten you fifty invites, no problem. Why pay 20,000? You’re just getting taken advantage of by Wan Ze!” Jiang Tiancheng exclaimed angrily.

Shen Fei agreed with Jiang Tiancheng’s opinion. The Wan Ze Group’s auction wasn’t prestigious, and it hadn’t attracted much attention from the wealthy or serious antique collectors. However, that didn’t mean there weren’t valuable items to be found.

In fact, the lack of attention was why Wan Ze Group’s name had recently hit the headlines. Despite being in the antique appraisal business for years, they had made a huge mistake with their own antiques at this auction. Three items went unnoticed until the last minute, when they were sold for low prices. Soon after, they were appraised to be worth billions.

The incident had sparked widespread attention and had damaged Wan Ze Group’s reputation in the antique community. Shen Fei, in his reincarnation, was determined to find these valuable items and expose Wan Ze Group’s failure.
