    Chapter 283: Rebuilding the Factory

    Changfeng Apparel,
    Afternoon.

A business van slowly pulled up in front of the office building.

Chen Mo stepped out and walked steadily toward the building.

Since moving to the headquarters, this was his first time returning to the Clothing Factory.

    “Hello, President Chen!”
    “Good afternoon, President Chen!”
    “…”

Several employees passing by greeted him respectfully upon seeing him.

Chen Mo responded with a warm smile. As he reached the second floor, he saw Jiang Cheng approaching with Li Maode following behind.

After a brief greeting, they headed straight into the office.

    “Have some tea, President Chen.”

Jiang Cheng quickly brewed a cup and handed it over. He also poured one for Li Maode.

“President Chen, you really are blessed with incredible fortune. In less than a year, you’ve founded a group company. Truly admirable!”

Li Maode took the tea from Jiang Cheng and offered his flattery, though his heart was filled with awe.

Back then, President Chen had only taken over a struggling Clothing Factory. He himself had even placed an order for work uniforms there.

Who would have thought that in just over half a year, this small-time factory owner would transform into the president of a corporate group?

The speed of that rise was downright terrifying.

“The group company was more of a fluke. Not really worth mentioning.”

Chen Mo gave Li Maode a faint glance, thinking to himself, *You think I wanted to start some group company?*

*Fortune and prosperity? If I told you I’m poorer than my employees, would you believe me?*

    “President Chen, you’re too modest!”

    Li Maode chuckled.

Chen Mo didn’t respond. Instead, he lowered his gaze to the map spread out on the table.

The map showed a layout of the industrial park, with various zones marked in different colors.

“This is the site plan for the Industrial Park, right?”

“Yes, President Chen,” Jiang Cheng quickly replied.

He reached over and pointed to different areas on the map, explaining in detail.

“These blue zones are our currently operating workshops. The red areas are companies that have ended their leases and will be moving out in the next few days. The black zones are companies still looking for new spaces—those probably won’t be vacated anytime soon.”

Chen Mo studied the zoning on the map carefully.

This was the main reason he had come today.

He had already allocated most of this month’s System Funds, but there were still next month and the month after to consider.

With over a hundred million yuan to spend each month, he needed proper outlets for that money.

And the Clothing Factory’s reconstruction plan, if done right, would be a major investment.

Which is why he had to oversee it personally.

After a while, he pointed to a red-colored area.

“This zone will be for the Employee Dormitory. Over here, we’ll build the Employee Cafeteria. And here, we’ll put in a Recreation Center.”

“The dormitory and cafeteria need to be large—multi-story if possible. As the garment business grows, the number of staff will increase, so both the cafeteria and dormitory should be built to accommodate ten thousand people.”

“We don’t want to run into a shortage of space again in the future.”

A dormitory for ten thousand should be more than enough.

Even if the factory eventually had more than ten thousand employees, married staff with families wouldn’t be living in the dorms forever—they’d buy homes and move out eventually.

After all, a 20-square-meter dorm room might work for a couple, but for a whole family, it’d be way too cramped.

“And the Recreation Center needs to be big too. The first floor can be a basketball court—group activities like that help build team spirit after work.”

“Upstairs, we can have other facilities—billiards, ping pong, whatever. The only requirement is that it must be spacious enough to accommodate a lot of people. Also, include a bathhouse.”

“All of this needs to be included. As for the specific layout, coordinate directly with the construction team.”

Jiang Cheng listened carefully, jotting everything down in his notebook.

A good memory is no match for a bad pen.

He didn’t want to risk making any mistakes due to carelessness or forgetfulness when it came to President Chen’s instructions.

“Understood, President Chen. What about the rest of the construction?”

Once Jiang Cheng had finished noting everything, he looked up.

Chen Mo studied the map again, then pointed to an area where red and black zones met.

“This area can be used for the new office building. And this time, make it big. As the staff grows, the number of managerial positions will increase as well.”

“But since there are still companies here that haven’t moved out, there’s no rush. Let’s focus on building the dormitory, cafeteria, and recreation center first. The factory’s renovation can be done gradually—no need to complete everything all at once.”

    Chen Mo spoke calmly.

To fully rebuild the entire Industrial Park would cost far more than one or two hundred million yuan.

Even with his current assets, doing it all at once wasn’t financially feasible.

So he had to plan it step by step. That way, he could also efficiently channel his monthly income.

Li Maode, who had been listening the whole time, was utterly stunned.

Forget the dormitory and cafeteria—even just the recreation center would put many large factories to shame.

Hearing all this, he almost wished he were one of President Chen’s employees.

“President Chen, I’ll go ahead and contact the construction team to start work on the Employee Cafeteria and Dormitory first,” Jiang Cheng said softly, checking his notes.

“Go ahead and have them tear down the workshops we no longer need. But make sure the construction company is reliable. Whether it’s the cafeteria or the dormitory, the quality must be top-notch.”

“I don’t care if it costs more—what I don’t want is shoddy work. This concerns the safety of our employees.”

Chen Mo’s expression was serious as he spoke.

Even if he couldn’t spend more money, he would still insist on making this request.

Although he had the system, he was still just an ordinary person. He never considered himself noble.

He liked money, liked comfort and luxury.

But at the very least, he still had a shred of conscience. He didn’t want to let his own selfish desires lead to something that could endanger millions of lives.

As Jiang Cheng listened to President Chen speak, he was genuinely moved.

Even though he wasn’t well-educated, he could still understand that President Chen was doing all this for the sake of his employees.

Just as he was about to say something, Li Maode suddenly spoke up from the side.

“President Chen, if you’re looking to contact a construction company, I actually know someone. You can rest assured when it comes to safety—their construction team is very responsible. But if you’re still concerned, you can always hire a professional to supervise the project.”

“They also have a partnership with a renovation company. If you have them handle the construction, you’ll get a discount with that renovation company down the line.”
