Metaphysical Fortune-Telling at Five and a Half

Qiao Man was a young Daoist priest living in a rundown temple on a mountain. One day, his master said he was going down the mountain, and from then on, there was no news of him.

Unable to keep living on the mountain alone, Qiao Man packed his bundle and went down the mountain, only to discover that the world below was not quite the same as what his master had described.

Skyscrapers rose from the ground, four-wheeled cars ran all over the streets, planes flew in the sky, and everyone had a cellphone in hand.

Qiao Man: Did I transmigrate?!

On his first day down the mountain, he met a male celebrity whose career had hit rock bottom and who was about to jump into a river to kill himself.

Qiao Man calculated fate for him, only to discover that the two of them had a deep familial bond.

Qiao Man: So… does that mean I’m his dad?!

His dear big son was mired in scandals, hated by the entire internet, and condemned by everyone.

Five-year-old Qiao Man waved his little hand domineeringly: Son, don’t panic! Daddy’s got you!

And so:

He set out the compass and pinched his tiny fingers to calculate.

Today, he helped a movie queen find the biological daughter she had lost many years ago.

Tomorrow, he discovered a murderer on a film set who had been on the run for years.

…

Five-year-old Qiao Man took his twenty-five-year-old bargain son with him and told fortunes all across the entertainment industry. Against all odds, they turned the tables and became wildly popular beyond their circle!

PS: He is not his biological son, and they are not truly father and son.
