Chapter 313: Joining Blue Film Studio

Su Tang nodded in agreement, then gave a small smile.

“A bit of strictness is a good thing. It helps us improve faster. Besides, we’re all newcomers with no filming experience. Only by being strict can we ensure the movie doesn’t turn out too poorly.”

    “That’s true.”

Jiang Xue nodded as well. They were, after all, complete rookies—no seasoned actors’ skills, no popularity like the big-name idols.

If the filming wasn’t at least somewhat rigorous, the final product might be completely unwatchable.

Jiang Xue let out a sigh, as if something had just occurred to her. She turned to look at Su Tang.

“What do you think about joining Blue Film Studio?”

    “I want to join.”

Su Tang thought for a moment before speaking slowly.

A few days into filming, Luo Xiao had approached them, expressing hope that they would join Blue Film Studio. He promised that as long as they signed on, any suitable scripts within the company would be offered to them first.

They would also be assigned top-tier agents.

She had thought long and hard about it.

If she chose to join Blue Film Studio, one thing was certain: she wouldn’t have to worry about getting roles in the future. After all, it was their own film and television company. When casting for new projects, they would naturally prioritize their own talent.

Plus, the benefits offered by Blue Film Studio were excellent.

If she chose not to join, her future would be full of uncertainty.

She had no idea how this current film would turn out. If it did well, maybe other crews would invite her to act. But if it didn’t, landing another role would be much more difficult.

So, after careful consideration, she decided to join Blue Film Studio.

Of course, there was another, even more important reason: Blue Film Studio hadn’t looked down on her acting skills and had still entrusted her with the lead female role. That, in itself, was a tremendous kindness.

For a student to land a lead role in her very first film—unless she had powerful backing—was nearly impossible.

So whether out of gratitude or for the sake of her future, she had no reason to refuse Blue Film Studio’s offer.

“Heehee, since you’re joining, then I’ll join too.”

Jiang Xue beamed with joy at Su Tang’s reply.

She had been thinking the same thing—joining Blue Film Studio. Once again, their decisions aligned perfectly.

“Then after we wrap up today’s shoot, let’s go find Director Luo Xiao and finalize everything. Then we can sign the contract.”

    “Okay!”

    The two exchanged a smile.

“Back to work, everyone! Back to work!”

Just then, the crew’s call rang out from a distance.

Hearing it, Su Tang quickly headed over. The next scene was hers.

    …………….

    Jiang City,

    Inside a basement.

“Xiao Rou, I really have to thank you.”

Hearing the news Shen Rou brought, Zhang Lan was overjoyed and hugged her tightly.

Shen Rou gently freed herself from Zhang Lan’s arms, then said seriously, “You shouldn’t be thanking me. The one you should really thank is President Chen. He’s the one who offered such a generous appearance fee.”

“Mm, I know. I don’t have the ability to repay him right now, but once the studio gets off the ground, I’ll definitely find a way to return the favor.”

    Zhang Lan nodded firmly.

With her current status and resources, there wasn’t much she could do to show her gratitude.

So for now, all she could do was remember this kindness and repay it once the studio had grown.

Hearing Zhang Lan’s words, Shen Rou nodded, then asked, “By the way, what songs are you planning to perform at the Sports Meeting? I need to write them down and hand the list to the hosts.”

“The full setlist is right here.”

As she spoke, Zhang Lan handed over a written list of songs to Shen Rou.

“But two of them are new songs we just wrote recently. See what you think.”

These two songs had been written during the past few weeks and hadn’t been released on any music platforms yet. They planned to debut them at the Sports Meeting and gauge the audience’s reaction.

If the response wasn’t great, they’d revise the songs before posting them online.

“If it’s just two songs, that’s no problem.”

Shen Rou didn’t object. After all, there would be quite a few performances, and including two original songs wouldn’t hurt.

    Four days later,

The Sports Meeting was held as scheduled.

The husband-and-wife host duo, Ye Feng and Chen Xuan, looked out at the ever-growing crowd in the stadium. Their expressions showed less surprise this time and more calm acceptance.

This was their third time hosting an event for Mingri Group—two Sports Meetings and one annual gala.

And every time they hosted, the company had changed in some way.

More employees meant more companies under the group.

This time was no different. After some digging, they learned that since the last annual gala, two new companies had been added.

One was Blue Film Studio, the other an Investment Company.

    Unexpected, yet perfectly reasonable.

After all, this was President Chen’s company. Changes like these were almost to be expected.

The Sports Meeting began right on schedule.

The rules were pretty much the same as last time, and with two hosts running the show, everything flowed smoothly without a hitch.

However, there were a few differences this time. Aside from the increase in participants, the most notable change was that President Chen was unexpectedly absent.

According to his assistant, President Chen had some matters to attend to and would need a bit more time before arriving at the stadium.

    As for that—

Being a hired host, he didn’t comment much on the situation.

He simply continued hosting the Sports Meeting at his own pace. Surprisingly, the absence of President Chen didn’t dampen the atmosphere at all. On the contrary, the employees seemed even more enthusiastic than before.

    And it made sense.

With the top executive of the group watching from the stage, how could the employees possibly let loose and enjoy themselves?

    Soon,

The Sports Meeting entered its intermission. Some employees took to the center of the field to perform.

This time, the performances seemed to be a notch above the last event. A few singers even took the stage, and their performances were quite impressive.

Two of the songs were unfamiliar, but they sounded great.

As the performances wrapped up, the Sports Meeting resumed.

    ……

    At Mingri Group,

Chen Mo sat at his desk, brows furrowed, deep in thought over ways to spend money.

He had come up with plenty of ideas, but given his current assets, none of them were feasible.

After all, the system had clear rules: any company he established couldn’t exceed its existing budget, and taking out loans was off the table.

So with his current financial standing, finding an industry that could rapidly burn through funds—and even lose money—was proving to be a real challenge.

    Buzz buzz!

His phone suddenly vibrated beside him.

Chen Mo picked it up and glanced at the screen.

It was a message from Shen Rou.

“President Chen, the Sports Meeting is almost over.”

    Hmm.

The Sports Meeting was almost over.

Chen Mo raised an eyebrow at the message, then stood up and quickly walked out of the office, calling for his driver, Yang Dahai, to come along.
