Chapter 190: The Windy Little Cotton-Padded Jacket

    “Then please be careful.”

Yang Ju gave a concerned reminder, her expression slightly worried.

Chen Mo noticed her worried expression and comforted her, saying, “Don’t worry, we’ll take turns driving.”

But soon, he thought of something—Yang Ju’s parents had gone to Jiangcheng, so she was the only one left at home!

After thinking for a moment, he looked up at Yang Ju.

“Have you considered going to Jiangcheng?”

Yang Ju smiled bitterly when she heard his words.

“I would love to go with you, but I need to find a suitable job first.”

She only had a college diploma, and the only qualification she had was a preschool teacher certificate.

However, after looking into it last night, she found that the standards for hiring preschool teachers in Jiangcheng were high, and she didn’t think she could compete.

If she didn’t become a preschool teacher, she wasn’t sure what else she could do.

Moreover, she really liked working with the children in the kindergarten and didn’t want to give up her career in this field.

“I see. My company has many administrative positions—clerks, Human Resources, designers, and so on. You can see if any of those suit you. It’s fine even if you don’t have work experience; you can learn while you work.”

Chen Mo thought for a moment before continuing, “By the way, I’ve also funded an orphanage. If you want to continue being a preschool teacher, you can go there and teach those children.”

When Yang Ju heard about the administrative positions, she didn’t show much reaction.

But when she heard about the orphanage, her expression finally changed.

She hadn’t expected President Chen to not only help the elderly in remote mountainous areas but also fund an orphanage.

She suddenly saw a shadow of her father in President Chen, both fully devoted to charity work.

And because of his abilities, President Chen was able to do even more than her father.

    An orphanage?

Yang Ju thought for a moment, then looked up at Chen Mo.

“I can go to the orphanage, but I need to make arrangements with the kindergarten here first.”

Even if she wanted to go to the orphanage, she couldn’t just abandon her position at the kindergarten. At least someone needed to take over her duties before she could leave.

“That’s fine. Just contact me in advance when you’re ready to go,” Chen Mo nodded. At the orphanage, there was already a preschool teacher, and adding one more would help with the workload.

And with the establishment of the poverty investigation team, he believed the number of children at the orphanage would increase. At that point, two teachers might not be enough.

After sitting inside for a while,
Yang Xingguo returned with a group of people.

When Chen Mo heard the commotion outside, he and Li Shen, along with Yang Dahan, walked out.

    In about half an hour,
with the help of the group, all the fruit in the cellar was loaded onto the truck.

    The truck was completely full.

After saying a few words of farewell to their daughter,
Yang Xingguo and his wife climbed into the truck.

    There wasn’t much sadness,
because they knew their daughter would come to Jiangcheng once she finished the handover at the kindergarten.

This was just a brief separation.

    The journey was uneventful,
and by around 4 PM, they finally arrived in Jiangcheng.

Chen Mo lowered the car window, watching the bustling traffic outside, the hurried pedestrians walking by with a touch of numbness. He couldn’t help but feel a bit sentimental.

Life here, compared to the impoverished mountain areas, felt like two completely different worlds.

One was busy, a two-point connection, as though controlled by strings.
The other, smoke rising from cooking fires, with the elderly in need, suffering from the hardships of life.

    Which is better?
    Maybe it’s all the same!

    “President Chen, we’ve arrived.”

As he was lost in thought, Li Shen’s voice came from the side.

Chen Mo glanced at him and realized they had already arrived at the old city district.

    He sighed,
opened the door, and got out.

    Not long after,
Yang Dahan arrived driving the truck.

Chen Mo made the arrangements. Li Shen would lead the way while Yang Xingguo drove to the Clothing Factory.

There were still some vacant employee dormitories at the Clothing Factory, so Li Shen would arrange for them to stay there.

    As for the fruit,
it could be stored in the canteen and distributed to the workshop employees when work resumed on Monday.

    A day’s time,
    and the fruit wouldn’t spoil.

    After everything was arranged,
Yang Xingguo drove with Zhang Man and Li Shen to the Clothing Factory.

    Watching the truck leave,
Yang Dahan came over to Chen Mo’s side.

“President Chen, dinner is ready at home. Why don’t you come and have a bite?”

He had already notified his wife on the way, so by the time they got home, the meal was nearly ready.

    On the third floor,
    at Yang Dahan’s house.

Yang Duoduo sat at the dining table, staring at the dishes on the table, swallowing her saliva non-stop, and occasionally glancing toward the door.

    “Don’t touch it!”

Dong Hong placed a plate of ribs on the table, warning her as she looked at her daughter’s eager expression.

“I know, Mom. I’ll wait for Brother Chen to come back and eat together.”

Yang Duoduo looked up and smiled happily.

But her smile was a bit shaky.

    Knock knock knock!

A knock sounded at the door.

Hearing the sound, Yang Duoduo jumped off her seat and quickly ran to the door.

She first moved a small stool, stood on it, and peeked through the peephole.

Then, she hurriedly opened the door.

    “Brother Chen, you’re back!”

Yang Duoduo rushed into Chen Mo’s lap, looking up and calling out.

    “Mm!”

She was too small, so she could only leap into his lap.

Yang Dahan, who had just raised his hands halfway, froze in mid-air.

Looking at his excited daughter, a bitter feeling suddenly welled up in his heart as he quietly walked into the house.

Chen Mo smiled slightly at Yang Dahan’s expression, then looked down and rubbed Yang Duoduo’s little head.

“Have you been studying well these days?”

“Duoduo has been studying hard every day, and finished her homework early.”

Yang Duoduo looked proud, then glanced around the room. Seeing that her father had gone inside, she lowered her voice and said,

“Brother Chen, can I come over to your house to watch cartoons later?”

The voice was very soft, almost as if she were afraid others might hear.

    Chen Mo smiled gently.

“Sure, but I need to make sure you’ve finished your homework first, and you can only watch for one hour.”

This little girl often came over to watch cartoons at his place, but he always set limits—homework had to be done, and the time could not exceed one hour.

Yang Dahan and his wife had also tacitly agreed to this arrangement.

    “Okay!”

Yang Duoduo smiled happily, grabbing Chen Mo’s hand and leading him inside.

“Brother Chen, my mom made so many delicious things, so much meat.”

After having dinner at Yang Dahan’s house,
Chen Mo went upstairs, with a little tail following him.

    Monday,
    Morning,

Chen Mo arrived at the Clothing Factory office and comfortably sat down in his chair.

Looking at the coffee that had already been prepared on the desk, he took a sip, savoring the taste.

Ah, office life is truly indulgent!

“President Chen, here’s the report I’ve compiled. You can take a look; it’s about the major events that happened in the company while you were away.”

Shen Rou walked over and placed a file on the desk.
