by MarineTLChapter 110: Another Round of Legal Education After the First
The employee dormitory had already been completed, and everyone had moved in.
Tang Qiu took a look at a few unoccupied rooms and was surprised—each dorm was lavishly furnished.
Air conditioner, TV, washing machine, water heater, private bathroom—everything was fully equipped.
There was even a floor cleaner, the kind that cost over 6,000 yuan. She hadn’t even bought one for herself, only springing for a cheaper one that cost just over 3,000.
When she entered the workshop, she found all the old machines had been replaced with brand-new ones.
Once again, Tang Qiu got a taste of Chen Mo’s generosity. He was really willing to spend.
Thinking of this, she finally remembered the reason she had come today.
“President Chen, it’s already been half a month. Isn’t there anything in the company I should be working on?”
“Oh? Didn’t I assign you to do legal education promotion?”
“That was finished long ago.”
Tang Qiu responded, clearly unimpressed.
“It’s already finished?”
Chen Mo let out an awkward chuckle. After assigning that task, he hadn’t followed up once.
And no one ever brought it up again.
But what should he assign her now? There really wasn’t anything urgent that needed Tang Qiu’s attention.
After thinking for a bit, he looked at her and cautiously said,
“How about… you do another round of legal education promotion? Pick a topic you didn’t cover last time.”
“Knowledge of the law can never be too thorough.”
Tang Qiu felt a wave of exasperation.
Doing a second legal education session so soon? Wasn’t that a bit too much?
But Chen Mo was the boss, and his request didn’t cross any moral lines—she had no real reason to refuse.
And wasn’t she here today looking for work?
Having something to do was better than nothing.
“Alright. But what about after that? Any other plans for me?”
Legal education didn’t take much effort—just a bit of prep work was enough.
“Uh…”
Chen Mo paused, suddenly feeling a bit worn out.
What was up with his employees? If there wasn’t any work, couldn’t they just enjoy their time off at home? Why did they have to insist on finding things to do?
He racked his brain but couldn’t think of anything to assign.
Finally, he gave up.
He cleared his throat and said,
“After this round of legal education… just start preparing for the next round.”
Tang Qiu: “???????”
She sighed.
Clearly, expecting President Chen to assign her anything else was a fantasy.
But then she thought about the new high-end equipment in the workshop and curiously asked,
“President Chen, with all that advanced equipment, are you planning to start your own clothing brand?”
After all, if he was just doing mass production for orders, there was no need to invest in such expensive machines.
Only by starting his own brand and handling everything from production to sales would such equipment be justified.
That made sense.
If a company wants to grow, it can’t just rely on external orders forever. That’s just earning processing fees.
Once the company hits a certain size, it’ll run into growth bottlenecks.
So the only solution is to create a brand, advertise it, and handle both online and offline sales. Gradually, the brand can build recognition.
Though the process would be difficult, if it succeeded, the profits would be unimaginable.
Clearly, President Chen was a man of ambition.
Chen Mo blinked at her question.
Clothing brand?
But then his eyes suddenly lit up.
That’s right!
He could start his own brand.
He’d been worrying about what to do with the sales department, but a brand would solve that entirely.
With a brand, he wouldn’t need salespeople chasing down orders anymore—he’d just need agents to handle regional sales.
Of course, for a new brand, getting agents to sign on wouldn’t be easy.
But that wasn’t the point. What mattered was that with a brand, there’d be no sudden bursts of sales success ruining his plans.
And as for selling clothes?
Even easier to “fail” at that.
Before, the clothes were too high quality and too cheap, so they basically sold themselves.
He wouldn’t make that mistake again. The whole “low margin, high volume” model was way too common.
But he couldn’t make the clothes low-quality either. That would be unethical—not to mention the system wouldn’t allow it.
So the only way to keep clothes from selling would be to price them high—on par with or even higher than big-name brands.
That way, as a brand with no reputation but high prices, there was no way the clothes would sell.
Over time, they’d just pile up in storage.
And that would make a perfect money-losing machine.
He could then expand the factory, hire a few hundred employees. Just paying wages and covering living expenses would burn through a ton of money.
With such a factory in place, he’d have the perfect tool to drain system funds.
The more he thought about it, the more perfect it sounded.
Chen Mo looked at Tang Qiu with genuine appreciation.
Yes!
Hiring Tang Qiu had clearly been the right move.
She’d pointed out a perfect “growth path.”
Thinking of this, he nodded and said,
“Lawyer Tang is right. I do plan to launch a clothing brand.”
“In fact, I’ve already decided that our current workshop is too small. I’ll be making a major investment soon to build a much larger one. When that’s ready, the entire garment factory will transition to brand production.”
Just as I thought!
Tang Qiu silently congratulated herself—her guess had been right on the mark.
She was even a bit excited.
If the company really shifted to brand production, her workload would increase significantly.
After all, brand fashion needed in-house designers, and those designs would require patent protection.
And applying for those patents would be her job.
Not to mention, if any designs became a hit, knock-offs would inevitably appear. She’d need to wield the law to protect the company’s interests.
So that was why President Chen hired her!
It wasn’t that there was no work for her—it just hadn’t been time yet.
Very satisfied, Tang Qiu soon left the office.
Chen Mo watched her go, smiling.
At that moment, Shen Rou came over and placed a report on his desk.
“President Chen, this is the latest report from Cangxue Games. Please take a look.”
