Chapter 202: This Kid is Truly Crafty!

It wasn’t surprising to Shen Fei that Yu Guotu asked this question. After all, the potential and prospects of Scar Healing Ointment were obvious to anyone.

Once the effects of Scar Healing Ointment were verified, countless people would flock to buy it. Even though Xinyue Group currently only had this one product, its bright future made it a priority for cities vying for economic growth. Many would undoubtedly offer attractive policies to entice Xinyue Group to relocate.

Shen Fei couldn’t quite figure out Yu Guotu’s intentions, so he spoke vaguely, essentially implying: If you want Xinyue Group to stay in Shen City, shouldn’t you provide some benefits?

Hearing this, Yu Guotu and Jiang Anbang exchanged glances before chuckling silently.

    “This kid… truly crafty!”

They had to admit it. What impressed them more than Xinyue Group or Scar Healing Ointment was Shen Fei himself. After learning about Shen Fei’s past and achievements, they were genuinely amazed. Even the usually reserved Jiang Anbang couldn’t stop praising him.

With someone like Shen Fei at the helm, Xinyue Group’s future was incredibly promising. Losing him to another city would be a significant blow to Shen City.

“Well, wanting the horse to run without feeding it—what a clever kid…” Yu Guotu shook his head with a smile and asked, “What benefits do you want, then?”

Shen Fei responded earnestly, “No need for policy support or tax breaks!”

Yu Guotu was momentarily stunned. Most cities focus on these two areas to attract companies and talent. Yet Shen Fei rejected both.

    “Explain,” Yu Guotu said seriously.

    “Land!” Shen Fei replied firmly.

    “Land?” Yu Guotu was puzzled.

“I’m not asking for much—just two plots. One for the Xinyue Group headquarters and another for a factory site. I know Shen City has no shortage of talented people, so having me here isn’t critical. But if you want me to stay, give me two pieces of land. I’ll pay market price for both.”

Yu Guotu’s heart skipped a beat. Although he couldn’t decide on such matters alone, Shen Fei’s ambition was crystal clear. Whether that was a good or bad thing, he wasn’t yet sure.

    “Which location?” Yu Guotu asked.

“The Port District across the Shenjiang River,” Shen Fei declared.

“Port District?” Yu Guotu’s confusion deepened.

“Unsurprisingly, that area is still undeveloped, but it’s vast and has tremendous potential. I’m sure Shen City’s government has already considered it for future economic planning. Instead of waiting for a drawn-out bidding process, why not give Xinyue Group a foothold there now?” Shen Fei said confidently.

His words carried an unshakable resolve, and he met the gaze of Yu Guotu and Jiang Anbang without flinching.

In his previous life, Shen Fei knew that after being developed, the Port District became a critical economic hub. It led Shen City to become a top-tier domestic city and eventually one of the world’s top three economic powerhouses. But Xinyue Group had missed the opportunity to establish itself there, a regret Shen Fei was determined to fix in this lifetime.

Yu Guotu was shocked. How does this kid know about our future plans for the Port District? This was a sensitive proposal not yet fully discussed or reported. Not even Jiang Anbang knew about it!

“How did you figure that the Port District would be part of Shen City’s economic plans?” Yu Guotu asked, his suspicion evident.

“Simple analysis,” Shen Fei replied with a smirk. “Where else in Shen City has such a vast, undeveloped area with such potential? It’s only logical.”

Yu Guotu couldn’t help but admire Shen Fei’s reasoning—those were exactly the factors they had considered.

But Yu Guotu didn’t answer directly. Instead, he diverted the topic. “Even if the Port District is developed, what qualifications does Xinyue Group have to move in? Just Scar Healing Ointment alone?”

“I understand that, Yu Secretary,” Shen Fei said. “The area is still undeveloped, and the planning process will take time. Give me one year! I’ll make Xinyue Group so successful that no one can question its qualifications.”

Jiang Anbang, who had remained quiet, chimed in, “Shen boy, aren’t you being a bit too aggressive? Rome wasn’t built in a day.”

“Old sir, what’s life without some risk? Don’t worry—I can handle it,” Shen Fei replied with a grin. Then, he added, “To make it easier, just give me a year. If I can prove myself by then, save me a good spot.”

“Fair enough. If you show your strength, I’ll support you,” Yu Guotu said seriously. “How much land do you need?”

“Not much—30,000 square meters,” Shen Fei replied confidently.

“Not much?!” Yu Guotu muttered helplessly. “Fine. For now, let’s focus on your immediate need for industrial land.”

“That’s simple—any decent location will do. About 300 mu (20 hectares), close to my company and not too far from the city. Follow the standard process for pricing, and no discounts. But if you insist on giving me one…” Shen Fei teased.

Yu Guotu couldn’t help but laugh bitterly. “You really know how to squeeze every last benefit!”

Finally, Yu Guotu spoke seriously, “Alright, I’ll help where I can, but Xinyue Group’s headquarters must remain in Shen City. That’s non-negotiable.”

“Of course!” Shen Fei agreed with a smile.
