Chapter 266: It Was All a Trap!

    “What’s wrong?”

Half-asleep, Tang Xingwen opened his bleary eyes.

What greeted him, however, was Su Ruyan crying.

“What happened? Why are you crying?”

Tang Xingwen immediately woke up, his voice full of concern.

He hurriedly sat up and reached out to comfort Su Ruyan.

However, the moment he extended his hand, Su Ruyan slapped it away harshly.

Then, visibly emotional, Su Ruyan screamed at him,

    “Get out of here!”

    “???”

Tang Xingwen retracted his hand, completely unable to comprehend the situation.

“You beast! No, you’re worse than a beast!”

While Tang Xingwen was stunned, Su Ruyan shouted again.

“No, no, Ruyan, what’s going on?”

    Tang Xingwen was utterly confused.

“Don’t play dumb with me! Don’t you know what you did to me? You took advantage of me when I was drunk and brought me here… and then…”

Su Ruyan became increasingly agitated, her sobs filled with despair.

“Tang Xingwen, I thought you were an honorable man, but… but it turns out you’re just like the others!”

“No, no, Ruyan, listen to me… I thought you were okay with it…”

Tang Xingwen hurriedly tried to explain.

“Hah! Tang Xingwen, think before you talk! I wasn’t even conscious—how could I have agreed? In your eyes, does a drunken girl’s silence mean consent?”

By the end of her words, Su Ruyan was practically screaming hysterically.

    Tang Xingwen froze.

From beginning to end, Su Ruyan had indeed appeared drunk. Even when he brought her home and did that with her, she seemed intoxicated.

During the process, Su Ruyan had shown slight resistance, but he had misinterpreted it as a playful rejection.

Even now, Tang Xingwen couldn’t understand that this had been a carefully laid trap.

He had already fallen into her grasp.

At this moment, Tang Xingwen felt only guilt and regret.

“Ruyan, since I did that to you, I’ll take responsibility!”

Tang Xingwen panicked and pleaded earnestly.

“Tang Xingwen, do you think that’s enough?”

Su Ruyan stared at Tang Xingwen with tear-stained eyes, her gaze full of sorrow and accusation.

“That was my first time! I will never forgive you!”

Having said this, Su Ruyan turned away in disappointment, grabbed something to cover her body, took her belongings, and walked into the bathroom.

Moments later, the once quiet room was filled with the sound of her sobbing.

Tang Xingwen, meanwhile, sat there stunned, staring blankly at the closed bathroom door.

How had things come to this?

    His mind went blank.

As the sobbing weakened, the bathroom door opened, and Su Ruyan emerged. Her eyes were swollen from crying.

    “Ruyan…”

    Tang Xingwen called out softly.

Su Ruyan didn’t say a word, glaring at him with deep resentment. Then, without looking back, she turned and left the room.

The sound of the door slamming shut brought Tang Xingwen back to his senses.

In the following moments, Tang Xingwen became a shadow of his former self.

He washed his face with toothpaste, brushed his teeth with facial cleanser, and completely forgot to tidy his hair.

Even when he went to work, he couldn’t pull himself together.

At the company, people whispered about him, but Tang Xingwen ignored it all, including the breaking news about Shen Fei’s response.

    In the Vice President’s office.

After slapping himself several times, Tang Xingwen finally regained some semblance of clarity.

He tugged at his disheveled hair in frustration.

“Tang Xingwen, you actually took advantage of someone! You’re worse than a beast!”

Muttering angrily at himself, he slumped over his desk.

Pulling out his phone, he opened the chat with Su Ruyan and stared at the screen for a long time.

Finally, he summoned the courage to type:

“Ruyan, I like you! Spending time with you has been the happiest period of my life. If you like me too, let’s get married right away. I’ll handle the dowry and everything. I promise I’ll take responsibility!”

The message had barely been sent before Su Ruyan replied:

“Tang Xingwen, just because you like me, I’m supposed to marry you? Why? You took advantage of me while I was drunk—how can I ever trust you again?”

“Ruyan, it was a misunderstanding! Please give me another chance. I’ll prove myself!”

“Tang Xingwen, do you think I can still trust you? I gave you chances because I trusted you, and what did you do? You forced yourself on me!”

“Ruyan, I’m truly sorry. Tell me—what can I do to make it up to you?”

Back in her apartment, Su Ruyan sneered as she read Tang Xingwen’s message.

    She immediately called him.

Knowing Tang Xingwen’s naive personality, she was sure he wouldn’t record their conversation.

When Tang Xingwen saw Su Ruyan’s call, his heart leapt with excitement.

    Quickly answering, he asked eagerly,

“Ruyan, are you willing to give me a chance?”

“Let me ask you, do you really want to make it up to me?”

    Su Ruyan’s voice was icy.

Tang Xingwen felt something strange in her tone, but he brushed it aside, blaming himself instead.

“Yes! Of course! Ruyan, I like you!”

“Fine! Then give me the formula for Scar Healing Cream.”

Su Ruyan’s words were direct and unrelenting.

On her way home earlier, she had seen the trending headlines about Shen Fei.

The public had flooded the internet with praise for his heartfelt apology: “Knowing one’s mistakes and correcting them,” “A prodigal son returning home,” “A good husband and father.”

Seeing this, Su Ruyan grew anxious.

She realized that if she delayed any longer, it might put her at a disadvantage.

However, hearing Su Ruyan’s demand, Tang Xingwen couldn’t believe his ears.

“Say that again… what do you want?”

“Tang Xingwen, why are you shouting?”

    Su Ruyan continued coldly,

“You said you want to make it up to me. Then prove your sincerity by giving me your most prized possession—the Scar Healing Cream formula.”

“Do you think that’s possible? Why would I give you the formula for Scar Healing Cream?”

Abandoning his usual timid demeanor, Tang Xingwen shouted angrily.

“Tang Xingwen, stop with the excuses! Give it to me, or prepare for a call from the police!”

Confidently, Su Ruyan delivered her ultimatum.

Hearing the word police, Tang Xingwen froze.

His back went cold, and a chill ran down his spine.

    He was genuinely afraid.

If Su Ruyan reported him, he would surely face prison.

“Xingwen, I know how much the Scar Healing Cream formula means to you. But if you truly want to compensate me, show me your sincerity. Otherwise, you know what a call from the police means, don’t you?”

Su Ruyan’s tone dripped with confidence.

Hearing her blatant motives, Tang Xingwen suddenly calmed down.

Memories of their past interactions flashed through his mind.

The first time—she had appeared just after Zhao Chengli left.

Everything after that had been initiated by her, and she had been exactly his type.

He had always known he wasn’t that charming.

Now, hearing her demand, Tang Xingwen finally understood—it had all been a setup!

“Damn it! You and Zhao Chengli really played me! You’re good, really good!”

Tang Xingwen cursed through gritted teeth.

“Who’s Zhao Chengli? I don’t know him! I’ll give you two hours. If you refuse, I’ll call the police!”

Before Tang Xingwen could reply, Su Ruyan hung up the phone.

    —————- END —————-

Chapter 267: President Han, I Resign!

The current situation was not what Su Ruyan had initially planned.

What she truly wanted was to control Tang Xingwen completely before revealing her real intentions. However, no matter how much she tried to sow discord previously, Tang Xingwen had remained fiercely loyal to Shen Fei.

On top of that, with the current public opinion online favoring Shen Fei, Su Ruyan grew increasingly anxious.

So instead of dragging things out, she decided to lay her cards on the table.

If Tang Xingwen hadn’t mentioned at the Luti Restaurant that he would introduce her to Shen Fei soon, Su Ruyan wouldn’t have chosen to spend last night with him.

After all, to secure a marriage with a wealthy and powerful man, Su Ruyan had undergone surgery half a year ago. The cost wasn’t high, but all her plans and effort had ultimately benefited Tang Xingwen.

Despite all her careful calculations, Su Ruyan never expected that this scheme would not only fail to harm Tang Xingwen but would instead backfire and ruin her own plans.

At this moment, after confidently hanging up the phone, Su Ruyan couldn’t suppress the smug smile on her lips.

Given how cowardly Tang Xingwen was, she knew he would never dare face the consequences of a police report.

She had already begun to envision the luxurious life she would enjoy with billions in cash and shares once she obtained the Scar Healing Cream formula.

“Tang Xingwen, two hours. I hope you’ll give me a satisfactory answer.”

In the Vice President’s office at Xinyue Group.

Listening to the beeping sound from the phone, Tang Xingwen’s mind went blank.

He never imagined his life would fall into such a ridiculous mess.

And the thought that what he believed to be true love had turned into a complete joke overwhelmed him.

“Two hours? Damn it! I wish I could slap her right now!”

Tang Xingwen roared angrily, slamming his fist on the desk.

He didn’t doubt Su Ruyan’s threat for a moment. If she went to the police, the evidence—both physical and circumstantial—would be undeniable. Prison time would be inevitable.

If he were alone in this world, he wouldn’t care. But he feared the consequences his actions might bring upon his family.

But could he really hand over the Scar Healing Cream formula to that malicious woman?

    Impossible!

The formula wasn’t just of immense commercial value. Even the exposure of its core ingredients would put the product—and Shen Fei—through an immense crisis.

“Calm down! Calm down! What the hell do I do?”

Tang Xingwen’s face turned pale as he failed to think of a solution. Frustrated, he grabbed his phone and found Zhao Chengli’s number in his blocked list.

“Xingwen, why are you calling me? Have you come to your senses?”

Zhao Chengli’s tone was filled with surprise and excitement when he answered.

“Zhao Chengli, I refuse to sell you the formula, so you had to set me up, didn’t you?”

    Tang Xingwen accused angrily.

“What are you talking about, Old Tang?” Zhao Chengli asked, pretending to be confused.

“Su Ruyan—she’s your person, isn’t she?” Tang Xingwen snapped impatiently.

Hearing this, Zhao Chengli faltered for a moment before stubbornly denying it.

“What Ruyan? I don’t know her!”

“Zhao Chengli, you’re quite the schemer! If you don’t know her, I’ll eat my own name backwards!”

Enraged by Zhao Chengli’s shamelessness, Tang Xingwen yelled furiously.

“Old Tang, you can’t just blame me for everything! What good would it do me to set you up? Do you have any proof that this Su Ruyan is my person?” Zhao Chengli retorted.

    Hearing this, Tang Xingwen exploded.

“Zhao Chengli, isn’t this all about getting the Scar Healing Cream formula? Well, I’ll tell you now—you can dream on! I’m not afraid of Su Ruyan reporting me! So what if I go to jail? A few years later, I’ll come out as a new man!”

With that, Tang Xingwen hung up the phone without giving Zhao Chengli a chance to respond.

Back in his office, anger surged through Tang Xingwen. He hurled his phone at the wall, shattering it into pieces.

Just then, a knock sounded on his door.

    It was Han Xinyan.

When she arrived at the office, she had already heard staff members whispering about Tang Xingwen’s unusual behavior that day. The loud noise she’d just heard only confirmed their concerns.

Pushing the door open, she saw the shattered phone on the ground and Tang Xingwen clutching his head in pain, his brows tightly furrowed.

Her expression sank as she asked, “Old Tang, what happened?”

    “Huh?”

Startled by her voice, Tang Xingwen looked up. Seeing Han Xinyan, his face paled as he quickly waved his hand.

“President Han, it’s nothing… just a small matter. A small matter!”

Han Xinyan didn’t buy it. Glancing at the broken phone, she raised her chin and said, “You call this a small matter? I don’t believe you, Old Tang.”

Touched by her concern, Tang Xingwen felt his nose sting. He rubbed it casually, trying to compose himself.

Seeing this, Han Xinyan became even more puzzled. Just as she was about to press further, Tang Xingwen spoke seriously.

“President Han, I’m resigning! I mean it!”

This was the only solution he could think of.

President Shen and President Han had always treated him well, and he couldn’t drag them into his mess. Even if resigning felt self-destructive, he couldn’t risk hurting those who had supported him.

“Wait, what did you just say, Old Tang? Resign? Don’t joke around—it’s not funny.”

Shocked, Han Xinyan waved her hand dismissively, thinking he wasn’t serious.

“I’m not joking, President Han. I’m very clear-headed right now. I’ve thought this through carefully. Something serious has happened recently—something that could drag all of us down. Shen Fei’s situation still hasn’t settled, and if another scandal erupts, our company will be finished!”

Tang Xingwen spoke with calm determination, as if he were narrating someone else’s story.

“Old Tang, what exactly happened?” Han Xinyan pressed, concerned.

Taking a deep breath, Tang Xingwen responded, “President Han, remember the photo I showed you yesterday?”

“Yes, wasn’t that your girlfriend?” Han Xinyan asked, even more confused.

    “Girlfriend?”

Tang Xingwen let out a bitter laugh.

“President Han, I used to work at the company Pretty Diary. After joining President Shen, I developed the Scar Healing Cream. Once my former boss, Zhao Chengli, learned of its success, he tried to obtain the formula. I refused, firmly. But he wouldn’t give up and set a trap using that woman in the photo to seduce me. Now I’ve fallen into their pit, and their demand is simple: the Scar Healing Cream formula. Otherwise, that woman will file charges against me.”

“I’m not afraid of that! Without President Shen’s support, I wouldn’t have been able to develop the formula so quickly. The fastest way to ensure this doesn’t affect the company is for me to resign!”

    —————- END —————-

Chapter 268: The Two Hours Are Up!

After listening to Tang Xingwen’s explanation, Han Xinyan was somewhat confused but tried to piece things together.

She wasn’t unfamiliar with the term “seduction.” Moreover, with the key words such as “scar cream” and the previous employer, she could quickly infer what had happened.

What Tang Xingwen said last, however, was what made Han Xinyan most anxious. But in order to comfort him, she calmly replied:

“Old Tang, don’t rush! Since you already know this was a trap set by those people, you need to stay calm and think about conditions that would benefit you. Even if they sue you, we’ll have evidence to counterattack! And don’t worry about me—let alone Mr. Shen, do you think he would let you sit in jail? Don’t panic!”

Hearing this, Tang Xingwen was deeply moved. Just as he was about to thank her, Han Xinyan spoke again:

“First, calm down and sort out your thoughts. I’ll call Mr. Shen. This is a huge matter; he needs to come to the company.”

    “Okay!”

Tang Xingwen nodded obediently upon hearing her arrangement. Even if Han Xinyan didn’t contact Shen Fei, he still needed to see him. Not for any strategies or help, but to explain things to him.

Seeing him like this, Han Xinyan slightly nodded and quickly returned to her office. She immediately called Shen Fei.

“Shen Fei, come to the company!”

“Hmm? What’s going on?” Shen Fei asked, confused.

“Don’t ask too many questions! It’s urgent! Come quickly!” Han Xinyan responded anxiously.

Upon hearing this, the smile on Shen Fei’s face disappeared, and he furrowed his brow. He quickly tidied up the design drafts for the Lohu Mountain villa on his desk and stood up.

“Give me a brief update on the situation,” he said succinctly.

“Do you remember I told you yesterday about Old Tang being in a relationship? Well, it turns out this is linked to his previous company, and the woman in that relationship might have been sent by the other side to set up a honey trap! Old Tang has fallen into it! They’re demanding the scar cream formula in exchange for his safety! He refused, and just now, he came to me saying he wants to resign! I can’t agree to that! This is too big a matter, you need to come to the company!”

Han Xinyan quickly summarized the situation.

“Alright! I understand. I’m coming right now!”

After hanging up, Shen Fei didn’t hesitate and immediately drove to the company.

He remained calm as he listened to the situation. Compared to everything he had faced in his past life, this was nothing. But he was shocked by the extent of the previous company’s CEO’s shamelessness!

A honey trap? They really put some effort into it.

    Thirty minutes later.

Shen Fei arrived at the company and, after some greetings, went directly to the Vice President’s office. He didn’t speak to Han Xinyan, simply heading straight inside.

    “Mr. Shen…”

When Tang Xingwen saw Shen Fei, he felt more guilty than before. Despite having had half an hour to calm down since the incident, he still felt nervous when he thought back to what had happened.

Shen Fei, on the other hand, calmly knocked on the door, entered, and closed it. He then settled comfortably on the sofa and spoke softly:

    “So, what’s going on?”

Seeing Tang Xingwen’s pale face, he continued, “Old Tang, this isn’t a big deal. I’ve already heard from Han Xinyan. The scar cream formula isn’t as important as you are! If there’s no other way, we’ll hand over the formula, but I will not let you go to jail!”

“Right now, though, what we should do is not wait around aimlessly but to find conditions that will allow us to refute their claims. Understand?”

Hearing this, Tang Xingwen felt relieved as if he had found a lifeline. Though he still felt bitter inside, compared to earlier when he was helpless, he was now much more resolute.

“Okay! I’ll explain everything that happened that day!”

Tang Xingwen then told Shen Fei everything that had happened, from how he met Su Ruyan to the current situation. He spoke more directly now, without the hesitations he had shown when speaking to Han Xinyan. However, he never mentioned Su Ruyan’s name, out of distaste.

“Mr. Shen, I don’t blame anyone for this. If there’s anyone to blame, it’s me for being overconfident and not noticing the signs. After all, it wasn’t like I’m a handsome guy with that much charm. Also, even if people know about the scar cream, they wouldn’t necessarily know it was me who developed it!”

He sighed, deeply regretting his own lack of awareness. After explaining the situation, he sank into self-criticism.

But after a moment’s pause, his emotions calmed, and he looked at Shen Fei with resolve.

“Now I’ve thought it through. The formula for the scar cream isn’t just mine, it’s also yours, Mr. Shen! Our company is successful because of the scar cream! If the formula gets out, it would not only be a betrayal to you but might ruin the company you’ve worked so hard to build! I can’t do that! When I was in a tough spot, if it weren’t for you, I’d still be wandering around aimlessly!”

“So, if Zhao Chengli wants to sue me, let him! I’m not afraid of his old dog. Even if I end up in jail, I’ll come out and make money. I won’t lose anything. And when I’m out, I’ll deal with Zhao Chengli!”

The more Tang Xingwen spoke, the more passionate he became, but his previous fear had vanished. He became more composed.

“Two hours! That’s the time they gave me! It’s almost up now, and I’m sure they’ve been waiting at the police station! Any minute now, they’ll come to arrest me!”

With that, Tang Xingwen stood up, walked to the desk, and pulled out the resignation letter he had already prepared.

“Mr. Shen, just sign it! I really want to resign! Otherwise, there might be more news about the scar cream. The company will be a mess!”

He joked, but Shen Fei’s response was serious:

“Old Tang, stop. I won’t sign this.”

    “Mr. Shen…”

Tang Xingwen wanted to say more, but just then, the new phone with the old SIM card rang.

    Two hours had passed.

Looking at the familiar phone number on the screen, Tang Xingwen’s expression grew serious.

    “It’s them calling?”

“Mm, who else could it be?” Tang Xingwen nodded.

“Put it on speaker!” Shen Fei said with amusement.

    —————- END —————-

    Chapter 269: Ridiculous!

Just as Tang Xingwen pressed the speakerphone button, a familiar yet extremely indifferent voice came from the receiver.

“The two hours are up. Have you thought it over?”

By this point, the other party wasn’t even willing to exchange pleasantries.

“I warn you, don’t try any tricks with me! Behind me is the police station! If you don’t agree, I’ll sue you immediately! Your traces are still inside me! And the incident hasn’t even been eight hours yet! I advise you to carefully consider this condition!”

Before Tang Xingwen could speak, Su Ruyan hurriedly added.

The voice sounded familiar to Shen Fei, but he couldn’t quite place where he had heard it before. He frowned slightly but didn’t dwell on it. After all, there was still a slight difference between the voice on the phone and in person, otherwise, Shen Fei would have definitely guessed it.

As for Tang Xingwen, upon hearing the threat in the other party’s tone, he gave a cold snort.

“Fine, go ahead! Let me tell you, give up on your hopes! The value of the formula for the scar cream is worth billions more than you! Also, your mastermind is Zhao Chengli, right? I know! But just using this method to get the formula, I really don’t know whether to laugh at your naivety or your stupidity! Go ahead! Don’t hesitate, go ahead! What’s a stint in jail? A few years? What’s the loss to me? When I come out, I’ll still be one of the developers of the scar cream, and I’ll still have mansions and wine!”

Hearing this, Su Ruyan on the other end of the line froze in place.

What does Tang Xingwen mean by this?

Is he willing to leave a stain on his record just for a scar cream formula, and even joke about the future of younger people?

    Did she hear him right?

If Tang Xingwen said this because he wanted to go his own way, Su Ruyan could understand. But Tang Xingwen had already shown his determination in the Green Tie Restaurant…

The way Tang Xingwen spoke now made Su Ruyan realize how loyal he was to Shen Fei!

    This was completely unexpected.

“Tang Xingwen, I’m not joking with you!” Su Ruyan said in a low voice.

“I’m not joking either! From the moment you proposed the scar cream formula as a bargaining chip, we became strangers! Knowing your character, I know you dare to say it, but I won’t hand over the formula! What am I, Tang Xingwen? How can the scar cream’s value be greater than mine? With my loyalty to General Manager Shen, after I get out of prison, would Shen Fei treat me unfairly? Besides, who wins and who loses is still uncertain!”

After a pause, Tang Xingwen continued, “From start to finish, I’ve been sincere with you! But ever since you made that offer, I don’t think you liked me either! Since you value interests so much, there’s no need for us to continue talking! And my apology to you is now completely gone! You’re not the one for me! There’s no need for further entanglement!”

As soon as he finished speaking, Su Ruyan immediately retorted, “Tang Xingwen, do you hear yourself? If you like someone, does that mean you get them drunk and then take them home and sleep with them? Is that what your love looks like? Besides, you said you would compensate me! Of course, I want your proudest achievement! Otherwise, how would I feel your apology! Alright, now that you’re cold and indifferent, don’t blame me for being ruthless!”

After saying that, Su Ruyan immediately entered the police station.

“Officer, I want to report a crime! Last night, the vice president of Xinyue Group got me drunk and took advantage of me!”

A crying voice came from the receiver.

Tang Xingwen sighed helplessly and then hung up the phone.

At this point, all he could do was accept what would happen next.

Tang Xingwen was somewhat relieved, but Shen Fei beside him didn’t look very good.

That voice was just too familiar.

So, while Tang Xingwen was negotiating with the other party, Shen Fei had been thinking about who it could be.

Until the last line, he finally remembered that Su Ruyan’s voice was very similar to this one.

“Old Tang, what’s this woman’s name?” Shen Fei asked, shocked.

“General Manager Shen, what’s wrong?” Tang Xingwen asked in confusion.

“Old Tang, is the woman who set you up with the previous boss’s scheme named Su Ruyan?” Shen Fei frowned.

Upon hearing this, Tang Xingwen’s expression instantly froze.

How did Shen Fei know Su Ruyan?

“Yes! No, General Manager Shen, how did you guess it was her?” Tang Xingwen asked, incredulously.

“It really is her!” Shen Fei said with certainty.

The next moment, he suddenly stood up and kicked the glass table beside him with all his strength.

The force was so strong that the glass table cracked.

Tang Xingwen, who was next to him, didn’t understand what was going on.

Could it be that General Manager Shen had also been set up by her?

Once he thought of this, his gaze toward Shen Fei became more urgent.

    “General Manager Shen?”

“Old Tang, we’ve been set up! This woman’s goal all along was to target me! If I’m not mistaken, the information online about my past was collected and handed over by this woman! And she used you to get the scar cream formula! I misjudged her! Damn it!”

Shen Fei analyzed with a grim tone.

In the past, he had focused his suspicions on Pei Lian regarding the online controversy, since he had caused Pei Lian to lose a big deal.

But he never expected that it was Su Ruyan behind all of it!

He hadn’t anticipated that her heart would be so dark.

Had she done all this just because he had deleted her WeChat?

    It was truly laughable! Ridiculous!

“No, General Manager Shen, what’s your relationship with this woman?” Tang Xingwen asked, startled.

“We were middle school classmates! Back then, I even had a bit of a crush on her!” Shen Fei replied directly.

His eyes were filled with anger.

Everything he had experienced in his past life told him that Su Ruyan would stop at nothing to achieve her goals!

Therefore, he had to nip this woman’s plans in the bud as soon as she showed any signs of gaining momentum.

There was no room for her to turn the tables.

“You two actually know each other? Ah, so how come this woman still…”

    Tang Xingwen stammered.

If their relationship was as melodramatic as it is in novels, Tang Xingwen could understand what Su Ruyan was doing.

But from what Shen Fei said, their connection seemed simple.

Seeing that Tang Xingwen didn’t understand, Shen Fei smiled.

“I’ll explain the origin and development of this matter to you!”

“It was only a few months ago when Su Ruyan was still working at the Yunhe Villa sales department…”

    —————- END —————-

    Chapter 270: Come with us!

Shen Fei didn’t spare Su Ruyan any face.

From the moment he started recounting the events, he directly revealed the series of things that happened to Su Ruyan after buying a house in Yunhe Villa. He even included the incident when Su Ruyan and the principal’s son entered a hotel in middle school.

This left Tang Xingwen constantly exclaiming in surprise.

But soon, he voiced the doubt in his heart.

“Wait, Mr. Shen! If she went into the hotel with the other person in middle school, then what about the red stain on the bed sheets?”

“With today’s medical technology, anything is possible!” Shen Fei replied with a smile.

As soon as he spoke, Tang Xingwen’s face instantly darkened.

He had been such an easy target to fool!

Previously, he had felt guilty for taking Su Ruyan’s first time and wanted to compensate her. But now, the situation had turned out completely differently.

“Given Su Ruyan’s nature, her actions likely weren’t for you!” Shen Fei paused before continuing, “But right now, that’s not the key point! This scheme is mainly aimed at you. Regardless, now that I know about it, I won’t let you be wronged. Also, as for your record, no one can stain it unless I say so!”

Tang Xingwen was moved by these words, but he shook his head.

“Right now, all the unfavorable conditions point to me! My DNA is still in her body! If you really don’t want me to end up in prison, then find me a good lawyer! That might give us a one in ten chance of overturning the situation!”

Shen Fei didn’t pay attention to Tang Xingwen. He was deep in thought, contemplating his next move.

Suddenly, his eyes lit up, and he looked at Tang Xingwen excitedly. He had come up with a solution.

He remembered that in the previous life, Tang Xingwen had mentioned that he had a particular habit—installing hidden cameras in his rooms.

This was because of an experience Tang Xingwen had when he first moved into a new community and his house was robbed. Even after calling the police, nothing came of it. That’s when Tang Xingwen became overly cautious.

After their successful business venture in their previous life, even after buying a villa with the best security, Tang Xingwen kept this habit.

    But now…

Shen Fei wasn’t familiar with Tang Xingwen’s situation and didn’t know if the robbery had really happened.

Clearing his throat, Shen Fei tentatively asked, “Old Tang, think carefully—do you have any recording devices or cameras in your bedroom?”

    “Uh?”

Tang Xingwen looked at Shen Fei blankly before suddenly slapping his thigh.

“Mr. Shen, don’t mention it, I do have one!”

At that moment, Tang Xingwen’s face began to look suspicious.

How did Shen Fei know about this?

“Old Tang, cameras are essential nowadays! For security, we’ve even installed them at the entrance and in Yueyue’s room!” Shen Fei said smoothly, lying without missing a beat.

If Tang Xingwen asked later, he could just say they had removed them.

But seeing Tang Xingwen’s reaction, it seemed he hadn’t guessed wrong!

“Oh? Really?” Tang Xingwen nodded with a strange expression.

This was crucial for him. Every time he moved, the first thing he did was find a hidden spot to install a camera.

“Of course! What else could it be?” Shen Fei sighed deeply and then quickly changed the subject. “Old Tang, you really have one? Then we have a way out!”

Upon hearing this, Tang Xingwen froze for a moment, then suddenly became energized.

“Mr. Shen! You’re truly a guiding light in my life! Damn! I wonder if the footage from that camera will be useful!”

“Don’t worry about that! We’re not threatening anyone; we’re just presenting the facts! Maybe with this, your issue will be solved right away!” Shen Fei said with a smile.

Just as Tang Xingwen was about to say something else, the door, which had been tightly closed, was suddenly pushed open.

Han Xinyan entered, her face heavy with concern.

Upon seeing Shen Fei, Han Xinyan’s expression tightened, and she quietly said, “Shen Fei!”

Shen Fei nodded slightly and turned his gaze toward the police officers behind her.

Without waiting for Shen Fei to speak, the police officers immediately said, “Who is Mr. Tang Xingwen? We received a report that you went against a woman’s will. Please come with us!”

Although Shen Fei had already anticipated this situation, at this moment, Tang Xingwen’s face still turned pale. His head was in a daze as he stood still.

The leading officer pulled out a pair of silver handcuffs and fastened them around Tang Xingwen’s wrists.

“Officers, the case hasn’t been settled yet. Is this really the right approach?” Shen Fei said in a deep voice.

The police officers, hearing this, smiled politely.

“Mr. Shen, I’ve heard about your company’s scar-removal cream. It’s a fantastic product and priced at 500 yuan, which we all admire. But respect aside, we still have to follow the rules, right?”

Seeing Shen Fei remain unyielding, the lead officer took a cloth from the sofa and draped it over Tang Xingwen’s handcuffed wrists.

    “Mr. Shen, how’s that?”

“That’s fine!” Shen Fei responded calmly.

Though he still had reservations, he understood that the priority now was to clear Tang Xingwen’s name, not to get bogged down in the small details.

“Good! Thanks, Mr. Shen!” the officer said with a smile.

    “We’re leaving now!”

The officers nodded and escorted Tang Xingwen out of the office.

At that moment, Tang Xingwen suddenly stopped, looking back at Shen Fei.

“Mr. Shen, you know my home. The keys are on the table. The camera is on the table opposite the bed. It’s been cloud-uploaded to my laptop. The password is 674823. You can check it later. Also, don’t spread this around…”

The officers were startled by Tang Xingwen’s sudden behavior.

    Seeing this, their expressions changed.

Just as they were about to stop him, the leading officer smiled and shook his head.

“Got it, I understand!” Shen Fei briefly said.

“Surviving great difficulties means future blessings! If I clear my name, I won’t let this woman off!” Tang Xingwen said with resentment.

Shen Fei calmly stared at him without speaking.

“Mr. Tang Xingwen, can we go now?”

The officer raised an eyebrow and asked.

After receiving Shen Fei’s nod, Tang Xingwen withdrew his gaze and, without needing further prompting, stepped forward confidently.

As everyone in the company watched with puzzled expressions, Tang Xingwen, with a look of fearless determination, walked out of the office and into the police car without looking back.
