Make Money C159
by MarineTLChapter 159 – This Is a Doghouse?
“That employee with glasses is constantly working in front of a computer, which definitely harms his eyes and worsens his nearsightedness. This basically counts as a work-related injury too.”
“So from now on, for all on-duty employees, any eye-related conditions will have their medical expenses fully covered by the company, including eye drops and similar medications.”
“And for those who are already nearsighted and want to change their glasses, the cost will also be fully reimbursed by the company. For those who don’t want to wear glasses and plan to undergo surgery, the surgical costs will also be covered.”
“Of course, there might be a recovery period after the surgery. But don’t worry—your positions will be reserved for you. No one else will take your place, so if anyone is considering surgery, go ahead with peace of mind. Your salaries will still be issued on time.”
After speaking, Chen Mo thought for a moment. Unable to think of any more ways to spend money, he simply left the employee workspace.
Leaving behind a group of employees sitting there in shock.
Nearsightedness counts as a work-related injury now?
That sounded even more outrageous than the cervical spondylosis thing from earlier!
If these words had come from any other boss besides President Chen, they’d all think it was just empty talk.
But with President Chen, it was different. He had always followed through on everything he promised. All the previously announced benefits had been fully implemented. They had no doubts whatsoever.
“President Chen, not staying for a while?”
Outside Cangxue Games,
Fang Chang and Wei Yan were escorting him to the door.
“No, I’m leaving.”
Chen Mo waved his hand, a bit exhausted. He realized that every time he came to Cangxue Games, it never went smoothly.
He looked up at Fang Chang’s glasses and said:
“Still not thinking about getting surgery?”
“President Chen, I’m not planning on getting surgery at the moment,”
Fang Chang directly declined. Ever since they left the employee workspace, President Chen had been suggesting he go through with the surgery and assured him his position would be kept.
But Fang didn’t even consider it—his project was at a critical stage. How could he afford to delay game progress just for a surgery?
“All right then. At least get a new pair of glasses.”
Chen Mo started to say, then changed his mind mid-sentence.
“Actually, find a good optical store and take all the nearsighted employees with you. Get everyone a new pair of glasses—choose the best lenses available.”
Leaving Cangxue Games,
Chen Mo didn’t return to the garment factory. He had Yang Dahai drive him straight home instead.
…………
At the garment factory,
In the sales office.
Wu Yu sat at his desk with a deeply troubled look, sighing as he looked across at Li Shen.
“Brother Shen, what should we do? It’s been a month, and we haven’t found a single distributor for our sales department.”
“Just take it slow. The factory just finished transitioning, so some early struggles are expected. Even President Chen gave you guys a one-year salary guarantee—clearly he understands this.”
“But don’t worry, once my short video account gains traction, I can promote it in my videos. Maybe someone will want to be a distributor.”
Li Shen said confidently.
“Thanks a lot, Brother Shen,” Wu Yu replied gratefully.
“No need to be polite. We’re all working for President Chen. By the way, the machinery from the mechanical plant will be delivered tomorrow. A technician will come to help set it up, which might take two days. They’ll need to stay overnight, and luckily, we still have a few vacant rooms in the employee dorms.”
“I need to go out and purchase fabric, so I’ll leave the hospitality to you.”
Li Shen said calmly.
Now that the factory had transitioned, the fabric couldn’t be as standardized as before. They needed many different types.
The newly hired designers had already sent him a bunch of fabric requirements, and he had to go out and source them personally.
“All right, Brother Shen, leave it to me.”
Wu Yu agreed on the spot.
“Okay, you go back to work then. I won’t hold you up.”
Li Shen stood and left, then walked to the entrance of the new workshop to wait.
Not long ago, he had gotten a call from Pang Tao, saying that President Chen had adopted several more dogs and he would be bringing them over soon.
Li Shen already knew about the adoptions. After all, dog kennels had been prepared next to the new workshop.
Though calling them “kennels” was a bit of a stretch—they were more like full-on dog houses.
Whose doghouse comes with its own yard, windows, and brick exterior?
It looked like a scaled-down countryside courtyard, even in rows like multi-family houses.
After about ten minutes,
Pang Tao pulled up in a truck outside the new workshop, with over a dozen dogs in the back.
Hearing the vehicle, Li Shen went out and greeted the already disembarked Pang Tao.
“Brother Tao.”
“Sorry to keep you waiting.”
Pang Tao smiled as he greeted Li Shen.
“I just got here. Let me give you a hand.”
Li Shen stepped forward as Pang Tao led one of the dogs out of the truck.
Seeing this, Pang Tao quickly stopped him.
“Let me handle it. You’re not familiar with the dogs—I don’t want you getting hurt. Just lead the way. Where are the doghouses?”
“Inside.”
Li Shen didn’t insist and walked ahead, finally stopping at the doghouse area next to the workshop.
“Brother Tao, there are four doghouses total. I’ll leave it to you to arrange how to place them.”
Pang Tao led the dogs to the houses and was stunned by what he saw.
This… was a doghouse?
Even the flat-roofed buildings at the shelter didn’t have brick siding—these doghouses were fully bricked.
Looking at the silly Labrador behind him, Pang Tao couldn’t help but think: foolish dogs have their own blessings.
As he unloaded the dogs one by one, Li Shen had already pulled out his phone to start recording.
“Hey friends, President Chen has adopted more dogs from the rescue center. And here’s the housing he’s provided—pretty luxurious, right?”
“Our Changfeng Garment Factory is a truly warm-hearted company, toward both people and animals.”
“……”
Only after Pang Tao had placed all the dogs into their homes did Li Shen stop recording.
He still needed to edit the footage before posting it.
Pang Tao casually shut the doghouse doors, then curiously asked Li Shen:
“By the way, after recording those videos at our rescue center, did you get much traffic?”
“They worked really well. A lot of people were drawn in by those videos. Some even wanted to donate to the shelter, but I turned them down.”
Li Shen replied with a smile.
His main goal was promoting the garment factory. Accepting donations would change the nature of it all and potentially lead to misunderstandings.
That wouldn’t help the factory’s reputation.
“Good call.”
Pang Tao nodded in agreement. Their shelter had once accepted donations, and only he knew the headaches that came with it.
Donors constantly monitored them, suspicious that the money was being embezzled.
Even with receipts, it didn’t help.
People who don’t trust you won’t believe you no matter what you do.
So later, he simply stopped taking money—only accepted material donations.
