Make Money C185
by MarineTLChapter 185: Cat Café?
Before they knew it, the time had come for the Coffee Shop to close for the night.
Store manager Lin Zhu checked the Coffee Shop’s revenue for the day and was surprised to see it was significantly higher than usual.
She thought back carefully and seemed to have found the reason.
She stood up and approached Song Xia and Su Dan.
“Song Xia, Teacher Su, today’s revenue was much higher than usual. I noticed that many of our customers were attracted by the cats before they decided to buy coffee.”
“Do you think we could use these cats as a way to draw in customers?”
Song Xia and Su Dan, who were discussing the maid café proposal by Zhou Mei, paused for a moment to reflect on Lin Zhu’s suggestion.
It did seem, as Lin Zhu said, that some customers today appeared to be drawn to the cats placed by the potted plants. A significant portion of them were young women who came in pairs.
“How do you plan to use the cats to attract customers?” Song Xia asked, looking at Lin Zhu. She and Su Dan were considering turning the Coffee Shop into a maid café.
Now, Lin Zhu was proposing using cats to draw in customers.
Lin Zhu shared her thoughts.
“Today, the cats were placed in a corner, not very noticeable. Many customers didn’t even realize the cats were there when they entered.”
“I think we should try placing the cats in a more prominent spot and see what happens.”
Su Dan considered the suggestion seriously. Compared to the maid café idea, using cats to attract customers seemed much safer.
After all, the cats were already available, and they could immediately incorporate them into the current Coffee Shop to test the idea. If it worked, it could be expanded further.
But the maid café was a different story.
Following Zhou Mei’s proposal, it would be difficult to experiment with the maid café concept in the current Coffee Shop, especially since the staff were not familiar with cosplay.
Moreover, the staff were very reluctant to wear cosplay costumes, and the café’s décor would also need to be revamped. Implementing Zhou Mei’s idea would require opening a new Coffee Shop, one designed according to her plan, and hiring staff who could do cosplay.
But that meant there was no room for error, and they couldn’t be sure whether the maid café would succeed or help the Coffee Shop turn a profit.
So, she and Song Xia had been weighing the options carefully.
Lin Zhu’s suggestion of using cats to attract customers lowered the trial-and-error cost. The cats were available now, and they could simply place them in the café and test the outcome.
If it worked,
They could even open a branch that incorporated cats as a customer draw.
After a moment of thought, Su Dan decided to prioritize Lin Zhu’s suggestion and put Zhou Mei’s idea on hold. If the cats didn’t prove effective, they would consider the maid café later.
“Alright, let’s place the cats in a more visible spot tomorrow.”
Su Dan agreed with Lin Zhu’s proposal.
But, whether it was Lin Zhu’s suggestion or Zhou Mei’s maid café plan, Su Dan felt somewhat helpless.
Even if these two Coffee Shops helped turn a profit, they could hardly be called authentic Coffee Shops.
What she truly hoped for was that the Coffee Shop could attract customers based on the quality of its coffee or its reputation.
However, it was clear that growing the Coffee Shop’s reputation through normal operations would take time, so for now, they had to rely on these unique methods to get the business noticed.
“Since we’ve decided to use the cats to attract customers, let’s go to the pet store and buy some small treats or toys for them.”
Seeing that Su Dan had agreed, Song Xia turned to Lin Zhu.
She was a huge fan of cats and understood that adding some interactive toys would help increase the cats’ appeal.
“Good idea!” Lin Zhu immediately understood what Song Xia meant.
………………
Monday,
Cangxue Games,
Fang Chang, Wei Yan, and Zhao Bowen were sitting in the office.
“What should we do about those players’ requests? What do you think?” Fang Chang asked, looking at Wei Yan and Zhao Bowen, a hesitant look in his eyes.
After they released the special game outfits for old and elite players a few days ago, a large group of Tianlong players began calling for the reintroduction of the noble system on the forum. They wanted those exclusive outfits.
Some players even contacted Tianlong’s customer service.
They also did some research on the forum and in the game and found that the outfits they had released were very popular.
But because they were limited edition, new players couldn’t get them, so some players began calling customer service or tagging their official account, demanding the return of the noble system.
This put them in a difficult position. If they reintroduced the noble system, it would go against the current game philosophy. If they weren’t careful, they would end up back where they started.
But if they ignored the players’ requests, it would likely upset those players.
“I think we can just ignore those players. Yes, there are quite a few calling for the return of the system, but compared to the current player base of Tianlong, they are just a small portion.”
“Tianlong was revived precisely because we removed the noble system, making the game more balanced and giving the regular players a better experience.”
Zhao Bowen shared his opinion.
Reintroducing the noble system was not an option, and those who wanted it back were just a small group of elitist players.
Compared to these few elite players, the much larger base of regular players was clearly more important.
Fang Chang nodded in agreement with Zhao Bowen’s words and then turned to Wei Yan.
“Director Wei, do you have any thoughts on this?”
Wei Yan, hearing Fang Chang’s question, thought for a moment before speaking slowly.
“The noble system absolutely cannot be restored. That’s a change we cannot make. However, I believe we can’t just ignore those players who are asking for its return.”
Although he wasn’t deeply immersed in the game, he understood that since these players were requesting the return of the noble system, they were likely prepared to spend money.
If they could be retained, they should be kept.
“But how do we handle it?” Fang Chang asked, puzzled. He wanted to consider the players’ needs, but he hadn’t come up with a good solution yet.
