Chapter 74: Still, Fang Chang Is the Most Reliable

“Mr. Chen, is the lamb chop not to your liking?”

Shen Rou noticed that Chen Mo had stopped eating the lamb chop and seemed lost in thought, so she asked with some concern.

    “It’s fine.”

Chen Mo came back to his senses and waved his hand.

It was just that he was mentally tired.

    Soon, the meal was finished.

Shen Rou returned to her workstation, secretly took out a small notebook, and wrote down: “Mr. Chen doesn’t like lamb chops.”

Looking further, she also wrote: “Mr. Chen can’t drink alcohol…”

    Employee Cafeteria

“How’s it going, Old Lu? I didn’t lie to you, did I? Mr. Chen really is a great person.”

Yang Dahai was chatting excitedly with his old friend Lu Pengtao, who was sitting across from him. “Look at the food here at the employee cafeteria, no restaurant outside can compare. The chefs here were all hired by Mr. Chen at a great cost from five-star hotels.”

    “Thanks!”

Lu Pengtao looked at his old friend and, after a thousand words, could only express his gratitude.

Just recently, he received a transfer notice, his salary, and finally believed the words of Yang Dahai about the advance expenses.

    This company was truly exceptional.

“No need to thank me. Just drive your bus well, and don’t cause any accidents for Mr. Chen.”

    “I will.”

Lu Pengtao nodded. Such a good job, he couldn’t take it for granted.

    Cangxue Games

Wei Yan and Fang Chang sat in the office drinking tea.

“Director Wei, I really have to admire you when it comes to bargaining.”

Fang Chang, sipping tea, looked at Wei Yan with admiration.

A typical 80-square-meter office would normally cost a lot, but thanks to Wei Yan’s negotiations, over ten thousand was saved.

“That’s normal. That office had been vacant for months, and they were eager to rent it out, not knowing how long it would take otherwise.”

Wei Yan smiled and explained. “If they didn’t rent it to us, and it stayed empty for two months, they’d lose more than ten thousand as well. After weighing the pros and cons, the chance of them renting it to us was high. Unless they were confident they could rent it out in the next two months, which they clearly weren’t.”

“Well, enough of that. I need to go study.”

“I’ve already reserved the chairs and everything. You just need to discuss with Mr. Chen.”

With that, Wei Yan stood up and walked towards the employee studio.

As he continued working with Wei Yan, Fang Chang realized just how much he needed to learn.

Looking at Wei Yan leave, Fang Chang couldn’t help but feel admiration.

No wonder Mr. Chen valued Wei Yan so much—besides his business skills, his attitude towards learning alone was enough.

It seemed like he had to work harder too!

With a sigh, Fang Chang took out his phone and dialed Mr. Chen to report on the situation, as they had purchased so many desks and chairs and rented a new office space.

    In the Office

“Mr. Chen, here is the financial report from Cangxue Games. It includes the expenses for office furniture and the new office space rent.”

Shen Rou handed Chen Mo the report that the finance department had just sent.

    “Oh!”

Chen Mo reached out and took the report, his eyes falling on the total expenses: over 2.2 million.

    Not bad!

That means, counting in the purchase of the large bus, more than 4 million had already been spent.

    Ring-Ring!

    The phone rang.

Chen Mo answered the call, and Fang Chang’s voice came through.

“Mr. Chen, everything you asked for has been done. The financial report should have already been sent to you.”

“Hmm, I’ve seen it. Good job.”

“Thank you, Mr. Chen, but we owe a lot to Director Wei. That 80-square-meter office space, which originally would’ve cost more than 70,000, was cut down by over 10,000 thanks to Director Wei.”

    Chen Mo felt speechless.

This Wei Yan was always thinking about saving him money, no matter where he was.

But fortunately, it was only a little over ten thousand, so it didn’t have much of an impact.

    Sigh!

Up until now, the one who had made him feel most at ease was still Fang Chang.

Everything was done according to his instructions, unlike Wei Yan or Li Shen, who often stirred up trouble.

Chen Mo didn’t know how Fang Chang’s new game development was going, but with Fang Chang’s ability, once the new game was released, he would probably end up with another losing game.

    Thinking of this, he asked,

“Fang Chang, how’s your new game development going? How much longer until it’s ready?”

“Mr. Chen, if the new office is fully staffed, we have enough hands to develop it, and it will probably take about three months to complete.”

“Okay, I’ll inform HR to recruit new staff as soon as possible.”

Chen Mo hung up the phone and threw himself back into his seat.

If they recruited a batch of new employees, he could spend another chunk of the system funds.

Now, counting the remaining 400,000 or so system funds, plus the unpaid 400,000, there wasn’t much left in the system funds.

Next month’s employee salaries would take up a portion, and organizing a sports event would also use up some.

Adding in some daily expenses, he should be able to spend around 200,000 system funds.

That would leave him with just about 200,000 system funds to spend.

Looks like he would have to come up with some other ways to spend the money!

    Oh well,

there was no rush; there was still plenty of time.

    A week passed by.

Chen Mo sat leisurely in his seat. There hadn’t been any unexpected incidents this week. Cangxue Games’ new office space had officially opened, and because of the company’s generous benefits, the 20 workstations quickly filled with more than ten new employees.

That had already spent a chunk of the system funds.

What surprised Chen Mo more was that Li Shen, who always stirred up trouble, was now spending money for him.

Looking at the procurement request form, there was an expense of more than 100,000.

The biggest expense was to replace the cafeteria door with an electronic sensor one. After some inquiry, he found out that employees from other factories had been sneaking into the cafeteria.

To resolve this, Li Shen planned to install an electronic sensor door, and the company’s employees would be given electronic cards. Only those with cards could enter, preventing outsiders from sneaking in.

It was a good solution, and it would spend a chunk of money, so Chen Mo didn’t hesitate and approved it directly.

    Ring-ring!

    The phone rang.

Chen Mo glanced at the caller ID, and it was Fang Chang from Cangxue Games.

    He answered the call.

“Mr. Chen, the new equipment you requested has been developed. Should we integrate it into the game right away?”
