Chapter 64: Get One for Free

He realized he had suffered a double loss.

In reality, the system settlement had failed, and in the game, he had lost face by getting ganged up on and killed.

Looking at the ID [I’m a Tycoon], Chen Mo gritted his teeth in hatred—it was all because of this guy.

    No way.

He couldn’t just let this go.

Since he couldn’t do anything about the settlement issue, he had to restore his dignity in the game.

If this piece of equipment wasn’t enough, he would create a new one.

And set the price even higher—1 million per set.

    No.

Chen Mo quickly dismissed the idea. What if that tycoon was crazy enough to actually buy it?

He would be the one losing out again!

He had to come up with another plan.

Chen Mo rubbed his head, deep in thought.

Suddenly, his eyes lit up. If he couldn’t sell it, he could just make it drop from monsters instead!

Then, he’d have Cangxue Games adjust the drop rate to the lowest possible value.

That way, even if someone got lucky and managed to loot one piece, a full set included accessories, weapons, and more—at least ten items in total. To collect a complete set, it would take ages.

    Perfect.

That was the way to do it.

The more Chen Mo thought about it, the more feasible the plan seemed.

This way, no matter how rich that tycoon was, he wouldn’t be able to buy the equipment.

After confirming there were no loopholes in his plan, Chen Mo immediately picked up his phone and made a call.

“Hello, President Chen. What can I do for you?”

The call connected, and Fang Chang’s respectful voice came through.

“The new set of equipment for Tianlong—I think it’s too few.”

“I want you to create another set. The requirements are the same as last time; the models can be similar. But this time, the stats must be higher than the last set.”

Chen Mo slowly explained his request.

“President Chen, the previous set was just released a few days ago. Launching a new one so soon might not be a good idea…”

“What’s bad about it? A game needs constant updates to keep things fresh. Got it?”

“I understand, President Chen. Should this new equipment also be priced at 100,000?”

Fang Chang asked. He suspected President Chen had enjoyed making 300,000 in the morning and wanted to replicate the success.

“No. This time, it won’t be sold. It can only be obtained by farming monsters.”

“And lower the drop rate to the absolute minimum—ideally so low that even farming for a month wouldn’t guarantee a drop.”

    At Cangxue Games,

Fang Chang hung up the call and fell into deep thought.

He had assumed President Chen wanted to cash in again after this morning’s 300,000.

But to his surprise, President Chen wasn’t planning to sell the new equipment at all.

    Why?

Clearly, a mere mortal like him couldn’t comprehend President Chen’s foresight.

Fang Chang sighed, shook his head, and called Zhao Bowen over. Since he couldn’t understand, he’d just follow orders.

    “Fang, you called for me?”

Not long after, Zhao Bowen walked in and casually sat across from Fang Chang.

Fang Chang didn’t mind his casualness.

Before the company was taken over by Chen Mo, he and Zhao Bowen had been good drinking buddies.

So as long as company operations weren’t affected, it didn’t matter if Zhao Bowen acted a little informal.

“New orders from President Chen—he wants us to develop another set of Tianlong equipment. The stats should be higher than the previous set, but there aren’t any other requirements. Just handle it the same way as before.”

“Use the same team from last time and finish it as soon as possible.”

“Huh? So soon? Is President Chen trying to cash in again while the momentum is high?”

Zhao Bowen was surprised by the request.

“Nope. This time, he doesn’t want the equipment in the store. Instead, it’ll drop from farming monsters.”

    “Why?”

    Zhao Bowen was confused.

“No idea. We just follow orders.”

    Fang Chang shook his head.

    Afternoon, Changfeng Garment Factory

Sitting at his desk, Chen Mo started planning how to spend the newly received 8 million in system funds.

First, he could set aside 10% for charity—that was 800,000. This part was basically free money, so he had to make use of it.

Shen Rou’s orphanage could be the first recipient.

Next, the office computers at Cangxue Games needed an upgrade. There were over 30 workstations, and at 40,000 per setup, that would be about 1.3 million.

The air conditioning over there was also subpar. The break room needed snack cabinets and other leisure items. Adding some high-end plants for decoration would be good too.

That would require around 1.6 million.

Next month’s employee salaries also needed to be set aside—about 600,000.

So far, that was a 3-million budget.

Which meant he still needed to spend 5 million.

Wait—before Wei Yan left, he secured a 1-million order, and 400,000 of that was still unpaid. Given the project timeline, that money should arrive this month.

So, he actually needed to spend 5.4 million.

    This was getting tricky.

It looked like he’d have to arrange for a company shuttle bus. A large bus would cost at least 1 million.

And he needed to hire a driver. Yang might know someone—he used to drive big trucks, so he probably had connections.

That still left over 4 million.

He could organize an employee sports event. There should be plenty of prize categories and generous rewards.

Laptops, phones, home appliances—he’d get as many prizes as possible.

Including the venue rental, it should cost at least a few hundred thousand.

    Alright!

That should be enough for now.

The remaining funds could be spent flexibly as needed. Spending it all shouldn’t be a problem.

After finalizing his one-month spending plan, Chen Mo stretched.

Now, he should start with the first task—charity. The sooner the orphanage got support, the sooner those kids could have a better life.

Checking the time—just past 1 PM.

    Plenty of time.

    “Shen Rou, let’s head out.”

He called Shen Rou and left the office.

    Inside the Business Car

Yang Dahai was already waiting in the driver’s seat.

    “President Chen, where to?”

    “Tai Long Furniture Mall.”

Tai Long was the largest and most reputable furniture mall in Jiangcheng. Both the quality and selection there were top-notch.

The beds in the orphanage were all old and broken, and the study desks were in bad shape too.

    They needed a full replacement.

Ordering now meant the kids could get new furniture sooner.

“President Chen, what are we going to the furniture mall for?”

Shen Rou asked curiously in the car.
