by MarineTLChapter 21: Still Thinking About Running Sales?
“What business-oriented cars do we have in the 500,000 to 600,000 range? Give me the price list.”
Chen Mo asked directly.
After constant probing, he had finally figured out the maximum amount the system would allow him to spend on a car—around 600,000.
So he wanted to take a look at the price list for vehicles close to that amount and pick the most expensive one available.
Through his earlier tests, he also discovered that the system imposed restrictions on the type of vehicles he could purchase. Most of them were practical business models.
If he wanted to buy a sports car, it wouldn’t be within the system’s permitted range.
“Alright, please wait a moment. I’ll go get it.”
The salesperson said stiffly before turning to leave.
From her years of experience, the longer a customer spent looking at cars, the less likely they were to make a purchase.
So she no longer held any hope of closing the deal, but out of professionalism, she still went to retrieve the price list.
Not long after,
The salesperson returned with a price list.
“This is the price list you asked for. All the vehicles within your requested price range are listed here.”
Chen Mo took the list and didn’t bother looking at the car specifications. He went straight to the prices at the end of each entry.
His gaze finally settled on a car priced at just over 590,000.
“I’ll take this one.”
Chen Mo pointed at a Mercedes-Benz on the list.
The salesperson froze for a moment but quickly reacted.
Glancing at the model Chen Mo had chosen, she promptly spoke up.
“Sir, this car is currently on a special promotion. You can get it for around 580,000.”
A discount?
Chen Mo instinctively frowned upon hearing the word “discount.”
Just as he was about to refuse, the salesperson continued.
“However, there’s another version of this car priced at 620,000, which has an even bigger discount. If you pay in full, you can get it for 600,000.”
600,000!
Chen Mo’s eyes lit up. He immediately swallowed back his words and changed his decision.
“I’ll take the one for 600,000.”
“Great! Please come with me to sign the contract first.”
The salesperson enthusiastically led Chen Mo and his group to a room and soon returned with a contract.
After signing the contract,
Chen Mo directly paid for the car in full, leaving the salesperson in stunned disbelief.
Watching him leave, she couldn’t help but sigh.
This was probably the most indecisive customer she had ever met—yet at the same time, the most decisive one.
—
“Brother Yang, from now on, this car is yours to manage.”
On the way back, Chen Mo spoke to Yang Dahai.
“Understood, President Chen.”
Yang Dahai nodded and continued to focus on driving.
This was the best car he had ever driven. He didn’t dare be careless for fear of scratching or denting it.
“By the way, Brother Yang, was Sister Hong a chef before? Her cooking is really good.”
Chen Mo suddenly thought of the idea he had last night about setting up a company cafeteria and asked.
“Oh, her father used to be a chef, and she picked up some skills from him when she was young.”
“I’m thinking of setting up a cafeteria in the company and hiring a few chefs. I think Sister Hong’s cooking skills are great—she’s more than qualified for the job.”
“The salary can be 7,500 per month.”
Chen Mo said seriously. Last night, he had looked into chef salaries. Head chefs typically earned around 6,000 or more, but although Dong Hong’s cooking was good, she still wasn’t on par with professional chefs.
So 7,500 was the highest salary he could offer for now. However, as her skills improved in the future, he could adjust it accordingly.
“Thank you, President Chen, but I can’t decide for her. I’ll ask her after work tonight.”
Yang Dahai was grateful. 7,500 a month was double Dong Hong’s current salary.
If he weren’t the one driving, he would have rushed home right away to tell his wife the good news.
Even though he said he couldn’t make the decision for her, he was certain that once he told her, she would definitely agree.
With both of their salaries combined, their household income would reach a new level. If they also got full attendance bonuses, their earnings would be even higher.
Their financial situation would shift from struggling to a comfortable middle-class lifestyle.
And all of this was thanks to the young man sitting in the car.
His heart was full of gratitude, but he didn’t know how to repay him—so he could only work harder.
Chen Mo had no idea what was going through Yang Dahai’s mind. He was busy calculating his spending plans.
A star-rated chef would cost 15,000 per month, and he planned to hire three. Including Sister Hong, that would be over 50,000 in salaries alone.
But chefs weren’t enough. He’d also need kitchen assistants and cleaning staff, which would add to the expenses.
Yes, setting up a cafeteria was entirely feasible.
Next, he needed to find a suitable space for it. The current workshop wouldn’t do—there wasn’t enough room.
Once they got back to the company, he would check if there were any vacant workshops available for rent in the industrial park.
Rent would be another expense.
Plus, the cafeteria would need renovations, kitchen equipment, dining tables, and chairs. If he managed it right, he could use up all the remaining system funds in one go.
But even if he spent all the system funds, he couldn’t afford to relax. He still needed to keep an eye on clothing orders.
Otherwise, if a large order payment suddenly came in at the end of the settlement period, it would be a massive loss.
Thinking of this, Chen Mo felt a sharp pain in his heart.
That old fox Wei Yan—this time, he had to be watched closely. He should run as few sales as possible.
The car drove on,
And soon, they arrived at the company.
—
“President Chen, you were looking for me?”
Wei Yan entered the office and asked.
“Do you have anything scheduled today?”
Chen Mo asked casually.
“I was planning to meet some clients.”
“Put that on hold for now. I’m setting up a company cafeteria. It’s not healthy for the employees to eat takeout every day. Go talk to the industrial park’s management and check if there are any vacant workshops near our company. The closer, the better.”
Wei Yan sighed internally. As a salesperson, he hadn’t gone out to run sales in days.
But since President Chen had already given him a task, he had no choice but to agree.
“Alright, President Chen. I’ll check it out now.”
“Okay.”
Chen Mo nodded and watched him leave.
Still thinking about running sales? Dream on.
—
Wei Yan left the office and headed for the industrial park’s office building.
He had been there a few times before and was familiar with the manager.
Navigating easily, he arrived at the manager’s office.
He knocked on the door, and soon, a response came from inside.
“Come in!”
He pushed the door open.
“Manager Li, busy?”
Wei Yan greeted the bald man sitting at the desk with a smile.
Li Maode recognized him, pointed at the chair in front of him, and spoke in a neutral tone.
“Wei, have a seat. What brings you here?”
“Oh, I just came to ask if there are any vacant workshops available for rent in the industrial park.”
“There are!”
Hearing this, Li Maode’s interest was instantly piqued. He quickly pulled out a layout map of the industrial park.
Wei Yan leaned over to take a look.
After a while,
Wei Yan stood up.
“Got it. I’ll need to report back to my boss first.”
“Alright, I’ll wait for your response.”
Wei Yan nodded, preparing to leave, but out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a blueprint.
As a salesperson in the clothing industry, he instantly recognized it as a clothing design sample.
Curious, he casually asked,
“Manager Li, are you planning to produce clothing?”
“Oh, my boss wants to order a batch of work uniforms.”
Li Maode picked up the blueprint and then looked at Wei Yan with a sudden realization.
“I remember your company makes clothes, right?”
