Make Money C166
by MarineTLChapter 166: Is This the Treatment a Staff Member Deserves?
Su Dan immediately understood what Zhou Mei was doing. It was clearly cosplay, which had become popular this year. She had only seen it in short videos before, but she hadn’t expected one of the trainees to be a cosplay enthusiast.
Looking at Zhou Mei’s cartoonish appearance, Su Dan spoke gently.
“Zhou Mei, if they don’t want to wear it, don’t force them.”
“I know, Teacher. I was just teasing them.”
Zhou Mei stuck her tongue out and turned around to head back to her room. She took a few pictures in front of the mirror and posted them on her short video account.
Soon, comments began to appear.
The people commenting were all cosplay enthusiasts like her.
………….
The next day,
Around 9 a.m.
Chen Mo and Shen Rou arrived at the Coffee Shop. Once the contracts were signed today, the Coffee Shop would be ready to open.
“Good morning, President Chen!”
As soon as they walked in, they saw Song Xia already waiting at the door, with a line of people standing behind her—clearly the staff Song Xia had recruited.
Chen Mo gave them a brief glance and smiled as he spoke.
“Thank you all for choosing Nanhe Coffee. We are here today to discuss benefits and sign your employment contracts.”
After a simple greeting, Chen Mo followed Song Xia to a seat. He then arranged for the others to find seats nearby before continuing.
“I won’t waste time with unnecessary words. Let’s start with the benefits and compensation.”
“As you all know, the salary is 6,000 a month, plus 0.1% of the pure profit share, and full coverage of the Five Social Insurances and One Housing Fund.”
Hearing this, all the trainees let out a sigh of relief. Although Song Xia had mentioned this treatment before they arrived, no one could guarantee that it wouldn’t be changed once they got here.
This had been their biggest worry, but now that the boss himself had confirmed it, and it was happening just before signing the contracts, they knew it was real.
However, Chen Mo’s next words made their hearts drop again.
“Of course, there is one slight change.”
“We originally thought we were hiring only trainees, but we didn’t expect to hire a professional teacher. Since she’s a professional, offering her the same salary as the trainees would be unreasonable.”
“So, Teacher Su’s salary will be the same as Store Manager Song Xia’s salary.”
“Teacher Su, is that alright with you?”
Chen Mo looked up at Su Dan.
“No… no problem.”
Su Dan quickly shook her head. She was very surprised that Chen Mo had elevated her salary to that of the store manager. After all, Song Xia hadn’t mentioned this to her before.
She glanced at Song Xia, who also had an expression of surprise, clearly unaware of this change in advance.
It seemed that this was a last-minute decision by President Chen.
At this thought, Su Dan felt a surge of gratitude. Although she didn’t care much about the salary for running a Specialty Coffee Shop, it did feel awkward to have the same treatment as the trainees.
“Thank you, President Chen.”
“No need to thank me. This is the reward you deserve as a Senior Barista.”
Chen Mo smiled.
The other trainees, hearing this, relaxed again. It turned out that the change didn’t affect them at all!
“Now, onto the benefits. The training reimbursement, which I promised before, will be paid along with your salary.”
“Then there’s the Meal Allowance and Housing Allowance. The Housing Allowance is 1,000 per person, and the Meal Allowance is 1,500 per person. There’s also a 500 yuan Shopping Card, which will increase to 1,000 after you’ve been employed for three months.”
“Also, regarding rest, since this is the food service industry, we basically need to operate every day, so we’ve changed to a rotation system for rest days. Each person gets two days off per week. How you arrange those rest days is up to you.”
“Of course, if you choose not to take rest days, you’ll be paid double the salary.”
Chen Mo slowly explained the Coffee Shop’s benefits.
As for the rest system, he had hesitated for a long time between forcing two rest days each week or letting employees take voluntary rest. He ultimately chose the voluntary rest option.
Although mandatory rest would reduce efficiency, it would be useless if the Coffee Shop didn’t have many customers to begin with. Voluntary rest, however, would give him the opportunity to pay more in wages.
When the trainees heard the benefits explained by President Chen, they all gasped. This was amazing treatment.
Housing Allowance, meal allowance, plus the Shopping Card—this was already 3,000 yuan.
With a 6,000 yuan salary, their total monthly salary could reach 9,000 yuan.
And if they chose to work without rest days, their overtime would be double pay. Their monthly salary could easily exceed 10,000 yuan.
Was this really the salary for a staff member?
Not just the trainees, even Teacher Su, with her much more experience, was shocked.
With this treatment, even civil servants wouldn’t get better!
Chen Mo looked at their astonished expressions and smiled faintly.
“Alright, that’s about it. Do you have any questions? If not, we can sign the contracts.”
The trainees quickly nodded.
Questions? With such great treatment, what could they possibly have to ask?
Seeing no one had any questions, Chen Mo turned to Shen Rou.
“Please have them sign the contracts.”
Once he handed everything over to Shen Rou, he walked around the Coffee Shop and noticed that the coffee machines and other equipment had all been set up. It seemed the shop would be ready to officially open tomorrow.
After a while,
Everyone had signed the labor contracts.
Chen Mo called over Teacher Su and Song Xia.
“Teacher Su, what’s the general price for Specialty Coffee?”
Since they were ready to open, it was time to set the prices.
“President Chen, the price of coffee beans varies depending on the plantation. Generally, for an Americano, the price ranges from 30 to 75. Of course, there are some more expensive beans, like Blue Mountain Coffee and Geisha Coffee. If they are high-quality beans, the price can go up to a hundred or even several hundred.”
“Therefore, different beans have different prices and there’s no fixed price.”
Su Dan explained briefly.
Hearing this, Chen Mo frowned. If that was the case, setting a price would be quite tricky.
But he quickly figured it out. There was no need to get tangled up with the price of the premium coffees. He could just raise the price of the cheapest coffee.
By raising the minimum price, he could deter a large portion of the customers.
