Chapter 140 – Finally Able to Do Something for President Chen

Looking at this assistant’s looks and figure—both were flawless.

The two even shared an office.

This Chen Mo sure knew how to enjoy life!

    “Have a seat, everyone.”

Sensing that the atmosphere was a little off, Chen Mo quickly spoke up.

“I won’t sit. I’m going to the workshop to learn more about the company and prepare for onboarding training.”

Tang Qiu spoke, then walked straight out of the office.

She was going to make a PowerPoint for the new employees. Naturally, it needed to include photos showcasing the company’s features—like the cafeteria, dormitories, and so on.

She believed that once the new hires saw these photos, they’d be eager to join the company.

Once Tang Qiu left, Chen Mo’s gaze immediately fell on Song Xia.

“Uh… why don’t you give your sister a video call?”

    “Okay!”

Song Xia nodded and immediately started a video call.

    Soon—

    The video connected.

“Jie, I’m at Chen Mo’s company right now. Take a look—do you believe me now?”

Song Xia adjusted the camera, showing off the environment of Chen Mo’s office.

“Put Chen Mo on. I don’t trust what you say.”

    “Tch.”

Song Xia pouted and handed the phone to Chen Mo.

    “Hello, Sister-in-law!”

Chen Mo took the phone and greeted with a smile.

“Xiao Mo, is it true that Song Xia has really joined your company? You’re not lying to me?”

Seeing Chen Mo answer, Song Qing asked.

“Don’t worry, Sister-in-law. Song Xia really has joined my company.”

Chen Mo thought to himself—this technically wasn’t lying. After all, the café was also part of his company, wasn’t it?

“How about this, Sister-in-law? I’ll show you around my factory so you can rest assured.”

    “Alright, but wait a moment!”

Chen Mo was wondering what the wait was for when he suddenly heard Song Qing yelling from the phone.

“Li Zhengqi! Xiao Mo’s going to show us his factory—go get Mom and Dad!”

Hearing that shout, Chen Mo’s face turned dark.

    A short while later—

The small video window was crammed with four heads.

Chen Mo gave them a full tour—the workshop, the employee cafeteria, and the dormitories.

“Wow, this factory is really nice. That cafeteria is so spacious.”

Auntie #2’s voice came through the call.

    Once the tour ended—

Only Song Qing remained in the video window.

“Xiao Mo, arranging for Song Xia to work at your company… is your investor friend okay with that?”

“No problem. The company just so happened to have an opening perfect for her.”

“As long as we’re not troubling you. Alright then, I won’t take up any more of your work time.”

    After hanging up the call—

Chen Mo handed the phone back to Song Xia.

“It’s settled. Just focus on being the store manager. Also, I’ve arranged your training sessions and schedule—everything starts in three days. You can log into the app to check.”

    “Okay!”

    Song Xia nodded.

The two returned to the office.

Shen Rou stood up and approached Chen Mo.

“President Chen, HR sent word that eight fashion designers have submitted their resumes. Please confirm an interview time.”

    “Tomorrow morning.”

Chen Mo thought about it—he didn’t have anything scheduled for then.

    Employee Cafeteria

Tang Qiu held up her phone, snapping photos of the cafeteria.

    Nice.

    That should do it.

She had already taken pictures of all the impressive areas of the company and could now add them to the presentation.

    “Lawyer Tang, taking pictures?”

Li Shen wandered into the cafeteria, bored. It was almost lunchtime, and he was going to help Wang Maonian with food prep—he’d be selling boxed lunches afterward.

It was the only task he had left at the company that he could do consistently.

If not for this boxed lunch gig, he’d be bored to death every day.

“Yeah, taking pictures of the cafeteria for the new hire orientation.”

Tang Qiu turned and saw Li Shen, then explained.

“Orientation needs pictures of the cafeteria?”

    Li Shen asked in confusion.

Tang Qiu explained, “It’s not that cafeteria photos are a must—it’s that we need things that showcase the company’s unique features or are representative in some way.”

“The cafeteria, dorms, and workspaces—compared to other factories, we’re way ahead.”

“These pictures are really useful, both for orientation and for company promotions.”

“Oh! Then I’ll let you get back to it.”

Li Shen nodded thoughtfully and walked inside.

“What are you thinking about? Watch where you’re going.”

Wang Maonian saw Li Shen drifting through the cafeteria absentmindedly and quickly warned him before he bumped into a table.

Snapping back to reality, Li Shen realized he had wandered all the way to the back of the cafeteria and sat down on a nearby chair.

Wang Maonian followed and sat across from him, asking with concern, “Something wrong? You seem out of it.”

“Nothing much. Just thinking about stuff—spaced out a bit.”

    Li Shen shook his head.

    “Thinking about romance?”

Wang Maonian teased, seeing that Li Shen really was fine.

    “This is serious.”

Li Shen looked solemnly at Wang Maonian.

“You know, I’m a department head, but all I do every day is sell boxed lunches. I feel like I’m not living up to the salary President Chen pays me.”

“Well, what can you do? That boxed lunch expansion plan you proposed already got turned down. Do you even have anything else to work on?”

Wang Maonian looked at Li Shen with exasperation. This guy was obsessed—every day thinking of ways to do more for the company.

Li Shen looked up and gave a mysterious smile.

“That was before. Just now, I figured out what I need to do.”

    “What is it?”

    Wang Maonian was curious.

Li Shen straightened his posture and asked seriously:

“Now that President Chen is shifting to branded clothing, what do you think he needs most?”

Wang Maonian thought for a moment.

“That huge new workshop will need tons of staff, right?”

“Staff is important, sure—but not the most critical.”

Li Shen shook his head. Seeing the confused look on Wang Maonian’s face, he explained:

“What the clothing factory needs most right now is promotion. Look—now that we’re moving into branded fashion, we’ll need to sell our own branded clothes.”

“But the brand is brand new. No one knows us. Even if the clothes are great, probably not many people will buy them.”

“So right now, the most important thing is promotion. I’m sure President Chen has already thought of that, but since the workshop is still being renovated and the designers haven’t been hired yet, he’s probably waiting until production starts before launching promotions.”

“But I’ve got free time now—so I can start doing some early promo work for the brand.”

At this point, Li Shen smiled confidently.

Finally, he could do something for President Chen.
