Chapter 67: Cangxue Games Reform Plan

“Someone is willing to sponsor the orphanage? Which boss is so kind?”

Hearing Shen Rou’s words, Zhang Lan asked with a face full of surprise.

    “It’s Chen Mo.”

“What’s the full story? Tell me everything!”

The moment Zhang Lan heard it was Chen Mo, her eyes lit up with gossip-fueled curiosity.

“It’s like this… Last Sunday, I went back to the orphanage, and Chen Mo came along…”

Shen Rou recounted everything that had happened.

“So that’s how it is… That means President Chen is a really good person!”

“Quick, let me see how much he donated to the orphanage!”

As Zhang Lan spoke, she had already leaned over to peek at Shen Rou’s phone.

    “Over 500,000 yuan? That’s a lot.”

“But why is the amount such an odd number?”

“…Could it have some special meaning?”

    “I don’t know.”

Shen Rou shook her head. She had no idea why the donation amount wasn’t rounded.

“Doesn’t matter. Anyway, with President Chen’s support, the orphanage is secured, and you’re finally free. You should quit that part-time job tomorrow. You don’t need the extra money anymore.”

Zhang Lan said cheerfully, genuinely happy for Shen Rou.

“But suddenly losing the orphanage as my motivation… I don’t know what to do next. I feel like I don’t have a goal anymore.”

“Are you sure you don’t have a goal? Then why have you been staying up late studying assistant-related skills recently?”

“Of course, it’s because President Chen pays such a high salary! I want to improve my skills and be worthy of my paycheck.”

    Shen Rou quickly explained.

“And now? President Chen has solved the orphanage’s financial troubles—aren’t you going to keep working hard?”

Zhang Lan suddenly flashed a mysterious smile and leaned closer to Shen Rou.

“Or… are you planning to act out a scene from a drama?”

    “What drama scene?”

Shen Rou looked at Zhang Lan, puzzled.

“Obviously… ‘The young master has shown me great kindness, and I have nothing to repay him with—except myself!'”

As Zhang Lan spoke, she suddenly burst into laughter.

    “You’re asking for it!”

In an instant, the two started wrestling on the bed.

    “President Chen, please come in.”

Fang Chang warmly led Chen Mo into the office.

Upon entering, Chen Mo glanced around. This office had been reserved for him, but since he spent most of his time at the Clothing factory, it had remained unused.

    “Where’s Wei Yan?”

“Director Wei should be in the employees’ workspace. I’ll go call him over.”

    Fang Chang quickly responded.

For the past while, Wei Yan had been spending all his time in the employees’ workspace, learning about game development from the staff.

“No need. I have some announcements to make, so I’ll head to the workspace instead.”

    Chen Mo waved his hand.

The two of them walked over to the employees’ workspace.

As soon as they stepped inside, Chen Mo saw Wei Yan sitting next to an employee, pointing at the computer screen with a pen.

Seeing this scene, Chen Mo couldn’t help but smile.

The biggest mistake in management is when a leader knows nothing about a field yet still insists on micromanaging.

Right now, wasn’t Wei Yan doing exactly that?

He didn’t understand game development at all, yet he was sitting beside employees, pointing at their screens and making comments.

Wasn’t this precisely what Chen Mo wanted?

    “President Chen, you’re here!”

Wei Yan noticed Chen Mo at the door and quickly stood up to greet him.

    Chen Mo nodded, smiling approvingly.

    “Good work. Keep it up.”

“President Chen, I will do my best!”

Wei Yan perked up, feeling encouraged.

Was this President Chen’s way of acknowledging his effort to learn?

Chen Mo lightly patted Wei Yan on the shoulder as a gesture of encouragement, then walked straight to the center of the workspace.

“Everyone, pause your work for a moment. President Chen has something to say.”

Fang Chang clapped his hands, gathering everyone’s attention.

“President Chen, you may speak now.”

All the employees turned their eyes toward Chen Mo, curious about what their new boss was going to say.

“I’m here today to make some adjustments to our work structure, as well as to announce new company benefits and activities.”

“Ever since acquiring this company, I’ve rarely been here. As a result, I’ve overlooked certain issues, and this department has been operating under its old system.”

“So today, I’m here to bring the structure and benefits in line with the Clothing factory’s model.”

As soon as Chen Mo finished speaking, several employees gasped in surprise.

During the last company retreat, they had chatted with the Clothing factory workers and learned about their generous benefits.

At the time, they were extremely envious and had secretly wished that their own workplace could implement similar policies.

And now, it was actually happening.

“Quiet down and listen carefully to President Chen.”

Fang Chang stepped forward and silenced the murmurs.

The workspace quickly returned to order.

    Chen Mo continued,

“First, let’s talk about working hours. You’ve always followed an 8 AM to 5 PM schedule, which will remain unchanged. However, your current policy only allows one day off per week. Moving forward, we’ll align with the Clothing factory and switch to a two-day weekend system.”

“Additionally, I’ve learned that some of you have been working overtime.”

“I strongly oppose overtime. Not only does it take away from your personal time, but it also gradually dampens your enthusiasm for work. From now on, we’re eliminating mandatory overtime.”

“Also, everyone should calculate the total overtime hours they’ve accumulated since I took over. The finance department will compensate you with double overtime pay. Work done on Saturdays and Sundays will also be counted as overtime.”

Chen Mo had first learned about the overtime issue during the company retreat, when an employee had accidentally mentioned it in passing.

Afterward, he had conducted a thorough review of Cangxue Games’ work policies and realized he had been neglecting this department.

It had essentially been running on autopilot.

So he had devised a reform plan, leading to today’s meeting.

    Clap! Clap! Clap!

A wave of enthusiastic applause erupted in the workspace. Some more outspoken employees even shouted, “Boss, you’re awesome!”

As the clapping gradually subsided, Chen Mo continued,

“Next, let’s talk about benefits. First, insurance. Your current coverage is the bare minimum required in Jiangcheng, and it doesn’t even include the housing fund. Moving forward, the company will fully cover your five social insurances and one housing fund.”

“Second, meal allowances. Since we don’t have a cafeteria here, employees still have to pay for their own meals. While we can’t build a cafeteria right now, the company will provide additional meal stipends.”

“Third, shopping cards. Just like in the Clothing factory, each employee will receive a 500-yuan shopping card every month. Additionally, employees who perform exceptionally well will have opportunities for salary increases.”
