Chapter 59: Team Building Begins, Wrong Restaurant?

    Cangxue Game Company,

“Wei Director, since you just joined the company, why don’t you be the one to announce this? It’ll be a good opportunity for you to familiarize yourself with the employees and build rapport,” said Fang Chang in the office.

He had just received the details of the team-building event from President Chen and decided to let Wei Yan make the announcement. After all, team-building events were considered good news, and it would help Wei Yan gain some favor with the employees, making it easier for him to integrate into the company.

    “Thank you, Manager Fang.”

Wei Yan expressed his gratitude. Having worked in business for years, he could easily see through Fang Chang’s intentions.

“No need for thanks. President Chen treats us well, and as his employees, we should all work together to generate more value for the company,” Fang Chang said nonchalantly.

“Manager Fang is right. We should work together.”

The two exchanged smiles, and Wei Yan got up and left the office.

    Employee Workspace,

Wei Yan entered the room, clapped his hands, and spoke in a calm voice.

“Sorry to interrupt, but I have an announcement to make.”

The employees all stopped what they were doing and turned to look at the newly appointed office director, curious about what he had to say.

Seeing their attention, Wei Yan continued, “Tomorrow afternoon, the company will hold a team-building event. The exact time and location will be shared in the company group chat later.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the room erupted in whispers.

“The company is actually organizing a team-building event? That’s unbelievable!”

Some veteran employees looked shocked. They had been working here for years, and as long as they weren’t forced into overtime, they already considered it a blessing. A team-building event was something they never even dared to hope for.

Ever since this gaming company was taken over by the new boss, things had been changing fast. First, their office chairs were all replaced with new ones. They had secretly looked up the prices—each chair cost over 7,000 yuan! No wonder they were so comfortable.

And now, they were actually having a team-building event?

    This new boss was amazing!

“Everyone, quiet down for a moment,” Wei Yan gestured for silence and continued, “This team-building event will be held together with employees from President Chen’s other company, so you’ll have a chance to interact with them.”

“That’s all for now. Keep an eye on the group chat for further details.”

Applause broke out in the room. Wei Yan smiled and left.

    The Next Day, Noon.

A bus pulled up in front of the company.

“Everyone, get on the bus. There’s plenty of space, no need to rush,” Li Shen stood at the entrance, directing employees as they boarded.

Once everyone was seated, he turned to Chen Mo.

“President Chen, everyone’s here. Shall we depart?”

    “Yes, let’s go.”

Chen Mo nodded. He had specifically arranged for a bus because the company was located in a remote area, and returning late at night would be inconvenient. This way, he could both spend some of the system’s funds and provide employees with better working conditions.

In fact, this gave him another idea—since the company’s location was inconvenient, he could set up a shuttle bus service between the company and the city. That would make commuting easier for employees.

A large bus cost around a million yuan, and he would also need to hire an experienced driver—another opportunity to burn through more system funds.

    Brilliant!

    Xingyu Restaurant,

All the employees arrived and gathered in the banquet hall on the second floor.

With both companies combined, there were over 60 people. A regular private room wouldn’t be big enough, so Chen Mo simply booked the entire second floor.

After all, he was spending system money—why not go all out?

“Wow, President Chen is going even bigger this time! He booked the entire second floor!”

“He’s getting more generous by the day. He even arranged a bus for us this time. Working under President Chen is amazing!”

“I heard we’re doing this event with another company. That must be them over there.”

Some employees who had attended the previous team-building event marveled at the scale of this one.

“Everyone, find a seat. The employees from President Chen’s other company are over there—feel free to interact with them,” Li Shen announced.

“In the future, both companies will have joint events. Also, for the single guys and gals out there, this is a great chance! Don’t waste it!”

Hearing this, a group of young male employees eagerly rushed toward the Cangxue Game Company employees, afraid they’d miss their chance if they hesitated.

Seeing the excitement, Li Shen decided to join in too—after all, he was still single. Who wouldn’t want a sweet romance?

Just as he was about to head over, a soft female voice interrupted him.

“Excuse me, is this the team-building event for Changfeng Garments Company?”

Li Shen turned around and saw two women standing next to him.

They were both about 1.6 meters tall, with delicate features—not stunning beauties, but quite pleasant to look at.

“Oh, you must be employees from Cangxue Game Company?” Li Shen asked.

“Wait… this is the Cangxue Game Company’s team-building event? Sorry, we must have gone to the wrong place!”

Zhao Lingling’s face turned red with embarrassment. She quickly apologized and pulled Zhou Chen along as they left.

As they walked away, they whispered to each other.

“I thought you said this was the right place? How did we end up at the wrong event?” Zhao Lingling asked.

Zhou Chen looked equally confused. “I swear this was the address Assistant Shen gave us. And we even asked the staff downstairs—they confirmed it!”

She glanced around again. This was definitely Xingyu Restaurant, so how could they be at the wrong event?

Could they have gone to the wrong floor? Was this the third floor instead of the second?

Li Shen overheard their conversation and felt something was off…
