Make Money C47
by MarineTLChapter 47: Wei Yan—Good News for President Chen
“Brother, so you’re the one who killed my guildmate?”
Chen Mo found himself suddenly pulled into a chatroom, where that wealthy player immediately sent him a message.
He didn’t bother being polite and simply replied with two words:
“That’s right!”
“You’ve got guts. In that case, I’ll make sure to beat you into submission. I’ve taken down god-tier accounts before.”
The chatroom disbanded.
On the battlefield, the opposing team’s players had already started launching attacks toward him.
Chen Mo watched the incoming attacks without a hint of panic. The damage barely scratched him—each hit only knocked off a tiny bit of his health, and he could restore it easily with a potion. It felt like nothing more than an itch.
But soon, he realized something was off. Among those attacks, a few actually managed to shave off a small chunk of his HP in one go.
The other side also had god-tier accounts—more than one.
Understanding this, Chen Mo knew he couldn’t just sit back and take hits. He prepared to counterattack.
But with so many opponents swarming the battlefield, it was impossible to pinpoint exactly where their god-tier players were hiding.
Before long, his screen went gray.
Chen Mo stared at the death screen, while messages from his opponents flooded in, full of mockery.
Even with a god-tier account, he still wasn’t their match.
The main issue was that the enemy team had multiple god-tier accounts, not just one.
Should I get more god-tier accounts too?
Finding a way to obtain more accounts wouldn’t be difficult—he could ask Fang Chang to handle it.
But then, who would play them?
He couldn’t ask his employees—that would definitely be flagged as a violation by the game system.
And as for his personal connections… where would he even find that many people willing to play?
This won’t work.
Suddenly, an idea struck him.
If he couldn’t find more players, he could just enhance his gear!
He could have Fang Chang develop a new set of equipment with stats that completely outclassed the existing gear. That way, he would be the only one with god-tier equipment, and the enemy would have no way to counter him.
The more Chen Mo thought about it, the more feasible it seemed.
Without hesitation, he picked up his phone and called Fang Chang.
—
At Cangxue Games, Fang Chang quickly answered the call when he saw it was from Chen Mo.
“Good morning, President Chen. What can I do for you?”
“The game Tianlong hasn’t had new gear updates for a long time, has it?”
“That’s right, President Chen. Since Tianlong has been running at a loss, previous attempts to tweak the game didn’t improve its performance. The former owner gave up on updating its gear and items.”
“Currently, our entire team is focused on developing a new game. If we divert staff to work on new gear for Tianlong, it will significantly delay our new game’s progress.”
Fang Chang patiently explained the situation. The game was already losing money, and investing more resources into it would only increase their losses.
“That won’t do. Without new gear and content updates, how will we keep the game feeling fresh? Over time, players will get bored and quit.”
“Here’s what I want: allocate staff to develop a new set of equipment. The stats must be significantly stronger than the previous best gear.”
“How long will it take?”
Chen Mo carefully guided the conversation, inwardly pleased. Not only would this new gear help him settle his grudge, but it would also slow down the development of the new game.
A win-win situation!
“If we want to make it detailed and polished, the fastest we can do it is half a month,” Fang Chang estimated.
“The appearance doesn’t matter—just make sure the stats are strong.”
Chen Mo didn’t care about aesthetics. He just wanted gear with overpowered stats so he could dominate his enemies.
Fang Chang hesitated for a moment, unsure of Chen Mo’s reasoning, but still answered truthfully:
“If we don’t focus on the appearance, the process will be much faster. We could have it ready in about a week.”
“One week, then.”
Chen Mo agreed decisively.
Internally, he felt a little regretful—if he weren’t so eager to settle the score, he could have taken more time to refine the gear’s design. But if he kept waiting, he might end up wasting even more money in the game.
Hanging up the phone, Chen Mo glanced at his grayed-out screen again.
He had respawned once but was quickly killed again.
After thinking for a moment, he sent a single message before logging out of the game:
“I’m busy now. If you’ve got the guts, let’s fight again in seven days.”
—
At Cangxue Games, Fang Chang put down his phone and immediately called for a meeting with department heads.
One week wasn’t much time to develop new equipment, even if they skipped the complex modeling.
So, he quickly gathered his team and divided up the workload.
“Director Fang, what’s President Chen thinking? Tianlong has been losing money for so long—there’s no need to develop new gear!”
“Plus, if we pull people away for this, our new game’s development will slow down significantly.”
The head of the design department voiced his confusion.
“I already raised those concerns with President Chen, but he didn’t seem to care. Just follow the plan.”
Fang Chang sighed.
At the end of the day, Chen Mo was the boss. He had no choice but to follow orders.
And besides, maybe this was part of an attempt to save Tianlong.
Either way, they just had to do as they were told.
—
Afternoon.
At the clothing factory, in the office.
After logging out of the game, Chen Mo leaned back lazily in his chair.
Knock, knock, knock!
Someone was at the door.
“Come in!”
Chen Mo looked up to see Wei Yan entering with a broad grin.
His heart skipped a beat.
This guy was definitely up to something again.
“President Chen, I’ve got great news!” Wei Yan said mysteriously, walking up to the desk.
Seeing his expression, Chen Mo felt even more uneasy.
“Yeah? What’s the news?”
“That new salesperson, Wu Yu, just landed an order.”
Here we go again!
Chen Mo sighed internally.
There was nothing he could do about the company’s sales. He couldn’t just ban employees from making deals out of nowhere.
“How big is the order?”
Hopefully, it wouldn’t be too large.
“It’s just a small ten-thousand-yuan order. But it’s a great start! Bigger deals are sure to follow.”
Only ten thousand?
That’s manageable.
Ten thousand wasn’t too bad—he could easily find a way to spend it.
Just as Chen Mo was about to relax, Wei Yan continued speaking.
“But President Chen, Wu Yu’s order is just a small matter. There’s even better news!”
Chen Mo tensed up again.
Even better news?
Judging from Wei Yan’s expression, this “good news” was probably going to be a huge headache.
