    Chapter 44: Another Salary Raise

“They replied saying that the proposal has been accepted, and the renovation fee will be fully transferred to the company account soon. They want us to arrange for the workers to start the renovation as soon as possible.”

Wang Yang spoke quickly, feeling a wave of relief wash over him.

    “They agreed?”

Chen Jun was stunned, finding it hard to believe. He leaned over to the computer screen.

After reading the email carefully, he was completely dumbfounded.

He had the distinct feeling that all his years of experience were utterly useless when it came to Wang Yang.

Still, he was happy for Wang Yang. After all, securing such a big order as a newcomer was an impressive feat.

With a renovation fee of 930,000 yuan, the commission alone would be quite a fortune.

“Kid, not bad at all! You owe me a good meal this month, you know that, right?” Chen Jun patted Wang Yang’s shoulder with a grin.

“Don’t worry, Brother Jun. Even if you didn’t mention it, I was already planning to treat you to dinner.”

Wang Yang chuckled. And he wasn’t just saying that—Chen Jun had helped him a lot since he joined the company, so he had always intended to show his appreciation.

    ———

Just then, a serious voice came from the door.

“What’s got you both so happy when it’s almost time to get off work?”

Both of them turned to see their supervisor, Qi Bu, standing at the door.

    “Good evening, Supervisor!”

    They greeted him respectfully.

    “Hmm.”

Qi Bu glanced at them before fixing his gaze on Wang Yang.

“Xiao Yang, is the renovation plan for the clothing factory’s dormitory done yet? This needs to be handled quickly. If it drags on, unexpected changes might occur. And this is a major order—if you can secure it, your commission will be substantial.”

“Supervisor Qi, the renovation proposal has already been approved, and the funds will be transferred to the company soon.”

Wang Yang replied, suddenly realizing that he had forgotten to inform Qi Bu about sending the proposal to the client that morning.

That explained why the supervisor still thought the plan wasn’t finished yet.

Qi Bu frowned slightly. Normally, renovation proposals should be reviewed by him before being sent out.

However, since Wang Yang was still new and unfamiliar with company procedures, he decided to let it slide.

“Alright, but next time, make sure to inform me in advance.”

    “I understand, Supervisor Qi.”

Seeing Wang Yang’s respectful attitude, Qi Bu nodded in satisfaction.

“By the way, what was the budget for this project?”

Since this was tied to the company’s performance—and his monthly bonus—he was naturally concerned.

    “Oh, it’s 930,000 yuan.”

    “How much?”

    “930,000 yuan.”

“But I thought this was just for renovating a dormitory?”

Qi Bu was baffled. A budget that high for a dormitory renovation? Something didn’t seem right.

“Yes, it’s for the dormitory,” Wang Yang confirmed.

Seeing his supervisor’s reaction, Chen Jun chuckled to himself. So, he wasn’t the only one who thought it was outrageous. That made him feel a lot better.

To clarify, he stepped in and explained why Wang Yang’s budget was so high.

“You’re saying all the materials used are top-tier brands? That can’t be right—why would the client agree to that?”

Qi Bu found it hard to believe. After all, he had worked in the renovation industry for years and had handled many dormitory projects.

Most bosses prioritized cost-cutting when it came to dormitories. If they could save money, they would. As long as the dorms were livable and met basic safety standards, brand quality was rarely a concern.

Forget premium materials—independent bathrooms and air conditioning weren’t even on the table.

“This was a direct request from the client.”

    Wang Yang affirmed.

    “A boss this generous? That’s a first.”

Qi Bu was still in disbelief but quickly shifted gears.

“Well, that’s great news. With this 930,000-yuan order, plus the 400,000-plus project from before, you’ve already locked in your quarterly bonus.”

“I’ll file the request for you later. Keep up the good work.”

Qi Bu looked at Wang Yang with approval.

For a top-performing designer, a solid quarter meant bringing in around one to two million yuan in projects.

Wang Yang, with just two deals, had already racked up over 1.3 million yuan in sales. If another designer didn’t suddenly land a massive project, Wang Yang was likely going to be the sales champion for the quarter.

A newcomer claiming the top spot—most people wouldn’t believe it if they heard.

But Qi Bu had no objections. After all, his salary was tied to the company’s overall performance.

With Wang Yang’s projects boosting this quarter’s numbers, their branch office stood a chance of winning the company-wide quarterly performance award.

If the other designers put in some effort, they might even take the top spot.

    “I will, Supervisor Qi.”

Wang Yang straightened up and nodded.

    ———

    A Few Days Later

“Boss Chen, was my salary miscalculated? Why is there an extra 2,000 yuan?”

Shen Rou stared at her bank transaction record in confusion.

Her salary had been increased to 10,000 yuan. Normally, after taxes and deductions, it wouldn’t be over that amount.

But after checking the math, she realized she had received exactly 2,000 yuan extra.

She had even called the company’s finance department to confirm if there had been a payroll mistake, but they said the amount was correct as per the salary sheet submitted by the boss.

However, she had reviewed the salary sheet herself, and it had clearly stated 10,000 yuan.

Chen Mo glanced at her and suddenly understood.

“Oh, that extra 2,000? I changed it at the last minute—it’s your bonus for this month. I didn’t mention it and just had finance process it directly.”

“A bonus? But I didn’t do anything special.”

“But you didn’t mess anything up either, did you? If there were no mistakes, shouldn’t that be rewarded?”

“And you’re not the only one getting a bonus. Many employees are receiving one, so don’t overthink it.”

Chen Mo responded casually. He wasn’t about to admit that he was just spending the remaining system funds.

Now that there were only 20,000 yuan left, he figured he might as well distribute it all as bonuses.

Looking at the system balance dwindling down to a few dozen yuan, he felt incredibly satisfied.

Spending money had gone surprisingly smoothly this time.

With ten days left until the system’s financial reset, as long as he maintained this pace, the 4 million yuan system funds would fully convert into his personal assets.

Of course, he still had to keep an eye on a few sneaky troublemakers.

After Shen Rou left, Chen Mo leaned back comfortably in his gaming chair.

With the system funds spent, he suddenly found himself with nothing urgent to do.

That reminded him of Tianlong, the game he had been playing recently.

Since he now owned the company that developed it, he could easily ask Fang Chang for an internal account.

Thinking back to how that rich player had humiliated him in-game, his thirst for revenge burned fiercely.

There was no way he’d lose now—not with an internal account in his hands.
