Chapter 104: The First Peaceful Days of President Chen

This employee looked familiar—he was in Group One. He probably worked overtime too much recently and was now feeling the fatigue at work.

Wei Yan casually glanced at the other employees’ work states. Though everyone was working diligently, their energy levels were clearly down.

It was a far cry from the previous energetic atmosphere.

    Sigh.

He let out a light sigh.

Wei Yan didn’t say anything. After all, this exhaustion was caused by all the recent overtime.

It seemed like this was something President Chen needed to know about.

These people had silently put in effort and overtime to help revive Tianlong. They had made a tremendous contribution.

Heroes shouldn’t go unsung. Their dedication deserved to be acknowledged by President Chen.

He would find a chance to bring this up to him.

    In a university dormitory—

The clatter of keyboards echoed down the hallway.

“Damn, aggro’s all on me now—pull the mobs!”

“Do you even know how to play Swordsman? I leveled you up for nothing—you’re getting one-shot by the boss!”

“Come on, you all died! How’s a healer like me supposed to carry the team?”

Duan Mingyuan took off his headphones and looked at his roommates, sighing.

“This boss’s HP and attack power are way too high. The few of us can’t beat it.”

“Isn’t it all because Tiger’s trash at the controls? Dating someone’s slowing his reflexes down.”

“Exactly. Look at the three of us—twenty years single, hand speed like lightning.”

“How about this, Tiger? You play healer instead. Simple controls—just keep pressing D.”

The roommate called Tiger wasn’t offended by the teasing. He leaned back in his chair, grinning.

“My girlfriend was actually thinking about introducing her roommates to you guys. But since you’re being like this, forget it.”

Duan Mingyuan and the other two glanced at each other—then quickly put on flattering smiles.

“No, Tiger—no, Brother Tiger! We were just joking earlier.”

“Yeah, Brother Tiger, we’ll level that Swordsman for you. Anyone tries to take your spot, they’ll have to go through me.”

“Right! Whatever class you want to play, we’ll support it!”

Tiger looked at their expressions and nodded in satisfaction.

“Alright then, I’ll forgive you guys.”

Just as he was about to get back into the game, he saw the three of them still staring at him.

    “What?”

“Uh… about your girlfriend—when’s she free for a meal? We’ll treat. And maybe bring her roommates too?”

    “Hehehe.”

“Well… I’ll talk to her later and see what she thinks. I can’t promise anything.”

Tiger thought for a bit before replying. After all, he wasn’t sure if the others were willing to come out either.

Hearing this, Duan Mingyuan suddenly had an idea.

“Tiger, how about you get your girlfriend to play Tianlong too? And bring her roommates in as well. That way we’ll have a full team of eight—maybe we can finally beat the boss.”

“Sure, but they’ve been worried about their internships lately. I heard the clothing designs they submitted got rejected by a fashion company. They’re considering finding another company but haven’t found a good fit yet.”

“I’m not sure if they’ll have time for games.”

Tiger explained. Recently, his girlfriend had been complaining to him that fashion companies were too rigid—only interested in copying others’ trending designs, with no originality or room for creative ideas.

    Duan Mingyuan nodded thoughtfully.

“Alright, let’s just keep playing for now. By the way, these recent updates made the game so much more fun—plus, you don’t even need to spend money to enjoy it.”

“Yeah, and if you’re lucky and get a good drop, you can even sell it for cash.”

    Another roommate chimed in.

The sound of rapid keyboard tapping filled the dorm room again.

    Back at the garment factory—

    In the sales department office—

Luo Yuan sat gloomily at his desk.

Ever since Wu Yu and Cai Jing left half a month ago, he had only managed to land one order.

And it was just a small one—only 100,000 yuan.

He’d been working hard trying to get sales. Why weren’t customers placing orders with him?

Even the leads Wu Yu gave him—clients who’d shown interest—ended up mostly rejecting him. Only one had followed through.

He just couldn’t figure it out.

They were all doing sales, but others could close a deal with just a few chats, while he ran around all day, legs about to break, and still couldn’t get anyone to sign.

Luo Yuan fell into a spiral of self-doubt.

    In the boss’s office—

    “President Chen, here’s your coffee.”

Chen Mo casually took the coffee Shen Rou made and leaned back in his chair, sipping it leisurely. These past two weeks had been the most relaxing time he’d had in a while.

No Wu Yu walking in with a mysterious smile, no sudden surge of orders to worry about.

The only remaining salesperson, Luo Yuan, had come by once—just to report a small 100,000-yuan deal.

Chen Mo had immediately handed it off to Li Shen, who was in charge of purchasing fabric and materials for the clothing line.

    Hmm.

Luo Yuan might actually be useful. With some guidance, he could be placed in a key position.

He liked these kinds of low-key, average employees the most.

With nothing urgent to do, Chen Mo picked up his phone and started mindlessly scrolling through short videos. Since he couldn’t flex in Tianlong, he’d have to kill time watching streamers.

“Thanks to ‘Brother Feng’ for the private jet—muah!”

“Thanks to ‘Brother Tiger’ for the sports car—love you, Tiger!”

Watching a scantily dressed streamer sweetly calling out donors, Chen Mo glanced at his wallet—

    And instantly swiped.

After converting his two sports event prizes into cash, his assets had crossed the 10,000 yuan mark.

But giving gifts to streamers? That 10K was barely enough.

Just as he was swiping through more videos, a game blogger appeared on screen.

“Hey everyone, it’s your old friend Zhou Nan. Today, I’m recommending a classic game.”

    A game recommendation?

Since he couldn’t play Tianlong, he might as well see if there were any other good games.

Chen Mo leaned in to watch.

    Zhou Nan continued:

“This game used to be quite popular. But due to a few updates that turned it into a pay-to-win mess, most players left, and it slowly faded from the spotlight.”

“At this point, I’m sure many of you already know which game I’m talking about.”

    “That’s right—it’s…”
