    Chapter 303: Pet Model

    Pet Fashion Show!

Jiang Cheng murmured to himself. This was something Li Shen had mentioned once before the New Year.

At the time, he was only the Head of the Production Department and wasn’t involved in the Clothing Factory’s business operations, so he hadn’t paid much attention to it.

But now, hearing Pang Tao bring it up again, he suddenly realized this was actually a fantastic idea.

Pet Park would host a Pet Fashion Show, while the Clothing Factory would handle production and sales.

Right now, the clothes produced by the Clothing Factory were piling up in storage, with sales at a standstill.

Just a few days ago, he had looked into why clothing stores in Jiang City were doing relatively well. It turned out those stores had partnered with Nanhe Coffee for a promotional campaign.

Anyone who bought clothes above a certain price threshold would receive a 50-yuan coffee voucher.

With that voucher, they could go to Nanhe Coffee and get a 50-yuan drink.

It was a clever strategy, but it only worked within Jiang City. Stores in other cities couldn’t replicate it. After all, who would travel all the way to Jiang City just for a cup of coffee?

If they really wanted to expand this method, it would only be feasible once Nanhe Coffee had branches in every city.

For now, that was clearly not an option.

But this new idea of pet fashion gave him a fresh angle.

If the regular clothing market wasn’t working, why not try pet fashion instead?

Besides, President Chen had mentioned in a meeting before the New Year that the Clothing Factory would eventually branch out into all areas of the apparel industry. Naturally, pet fashion would be part of that.

President Chen had probably thought of this long ago.

Jiang Cheng nodded to himself and looked at Pang Tao.

“Alright, I’ll take you to meet our clothing designer.”

“Then I’ll trouble you, General Manager Jiang.”

“You’re too polite, President Pang. This pet fashion idea is a real lifesaver for the Clothing Factory. You’re aware of our current situation—traditional clothing channels just aren’t working. Maybe pet fashion is the breakthrough we need.”

“If pet fashion can help the Clothing Factory out of its current slump, that would be ideal.”

Pang Tao laughed heartily. Since both businesses belonged to President Chen, he naturally hoped to see the Clothing Factory thrive.

As they chatted, the two of them headed to the first floor, where the Design Department was located.

    They knocked and entered.

    “General Manager Jiang!”

Xu Yaning quickly greeted Jiang Cheng as he walked in.

“Let me introduce you. This is President Pang from Pet Park.”

“And this is Xu Yaning, Head of the Design Department at the Clothing Factory.”

    Jiang Cheng made the introductions.

“Nice to meet you, President Pang.”

Xu Yaning greeted him politely. She had heard of Pet Park—it was another one of President Chen’s ventures.

She was quite curious about it too. Word was, the park would house rescued stray cats and dogs once completed.

She had even planned to visit it with Zhou Yu and the others once it opened.

“Hello, Department Head Xu. I’m here today to discuss a potential collaboration with you.”

Pang Tao responded with a smile. Though he held a higher position, Xu Yaning was a key figure in the Clothing Factory as a designer. Since he was here to ask for her help, he naturally treated her with respect.

“What would you like to discuss, President Pang?”

Xu Yaning looked at him curiously.

“Let’s talk in your office. It’ll be quieter there.”

With that, Xu Yaning led Pang Tao and Jiang Cheng out of the studio and into her personal office as Head of the Design Department.

As a department head, she naturally had her own office, though she usually spent her time in the studio working with her team on new designs.

Once inside, she poured a glass of water for each of the two executives.

“President Pang, you can speak freely now.”

Pang Tao took the glass and sipped lightly.

“Here’s the situation. Construction on Pet Park is already halfway done. To boost its appeal, we’re planning to host a Pet Fashion Show.”

“And since it’s a fashion show for pets, we’ll obviously need pet clothing.”

“You’d like us to design the pet outfits?”

Xu Yaning immediately grasped his intention.

“Exactly. Although the park isn’t finished yet, designing and producing the clothes will take time. That’s why I wanted to get a head start by working with your team.”

    Pang Tao explained.

Xu Yaning fell into thought for a moment before speaking slowly.

“There’s no issue with designing Pet Fashion, but right now the Design Department doesn’t have many members. If we focus too much on Pet Fashion, it might delay progress on other clothing designs.”

Although the Design Department had recently recruited some new staff, once everything was divided up, they were still stretched thin.

“That’s not a problem. We can temporarily put the other clothing designs on hold and prioritize Pet Fashion,” Jiang Cheng said from the side.

At the moment, even if the other designs were completed, the Clothing Factory couldn’t sell them. They’d just end up stockpiled in storage again.

The original warehouse at the Clothing Factory was already full. If Jiang Cheng hadn’t recently rented out the entire Industrial Park and set aside a large workshop to store finished clothing, they wouldn’t even have a place to put the new products.

So pausing the current clothing designs for now wouldn’t have any real impact.

Pet Fashion, however, was a different story. If done right, it could become a new source of profit for the Clothing Factory.

In terms of importance, Pet Fashion clearly took priority—at least for the time being.

“Understood, General Manager Jiang. I’ll get started on this right away,” Xu Yaning replied, now fully on board with the plan.

“But since we’re designing Pet Fashion, I’ll need a few pet models. After all, we need accurate body sizes and measurements when creating the clothes.”

“That’s easy to handle. I’ll head over to the Pet Park in a bit and pick out a few cats and dogs with gentle temperaments,” Pang Tao quickly chimed in.

    Pet models, huh.

With so many cats and dogs at their Rescue Station, it wouldn’t be hard to select a few suitable ones.

“Great. Just have them delivered within the next two or three days. During that time, we’ll be working on the initial patterns and styles. It’ll be a few days before we start making samples,” Xu Yaning said with a smile.

Pang Tao nodded. With the key matters settled, he didn’t linger and soon took his leave.

“General Manager Jiang, if we’re going to produce Pet Fashion, we’ll need to switch out some of the materials and fabrics. We might also need to purchase some accessories and decorative items,” Xu Yaning said, turning to Jiang Cheng after Pang Tao had left.

“Alright. Coordinate with Cai Jing, the Head of the Procurement Department. I’ll inform them to cooperate with you,” Jiang Cheng replied, then headed upstairs to his office.

Now that they had decided to branch into Pet Fashion, there were some adjustments he needed to make in the overall work arrangements.
