Make Money C69
by MarineTLChapter 69: Increased Productivity?
After leaving Cangxue Games,
Chen Mo got into the business car.
“Yang Ge, have you heard anything about the driver’s situation?”
“Mr. Chen, I tried calling last night, but I couldn’t get through.”
“I’m planning to go to his house after work today to check it out.”
Yang Dahai said a bit apologetically.
“Alright then. I don’t have much use for the car in the afternoon, so after you drop me off at the clothing factory, you can take the company car to check on your friend and see what he thinks.”
“Got it, Mr. Chen.”
Yang Dahai nodded.
Back at the clothing factory,
Chen Mo first visited the workshop and cafeteria to inform everyone about the upcoming sports event in a month.
Then, he returned to his office and started organizing the system funds that could be spent in the next few days.
The 800,000 charity funds had already been used up, but a surprise came from Cangxue Games today—renting a new office space and adding some office facilities.
At Cangxue Games, at least 2 million could be spent, or even more.
Not bad,
At this rate, the 8 million system funds would be exhausted soon.
Chen Mo leaned back in his chair with ease, reaching for his cup of water, only to realize it was empty.
He remembered that Shen Rou had gone to the orphanage and was checking out large buses today.
He chuckled helplessly, stood up, and went to the water dispenser for a refill.
Not long after sitting back down,
There was a light knock on the office door.
“Come in!”
The door opened softly, and Jiang Cheng cautiously walked in.
He walked to the desk and gave a slight bow.
“Mr. Chen, hello.”
“Sit down. What’s the matter?”
Chen Mo gestured to the chair in front of the desk.
This person had some vague impression on him—an employee from the clothing factory, usually quiet and humble.
“Mr. Chen, I wanted to ask for a favor.”
Jiang Cheng slowly pulled the chair back and sat down halfway.
“What’s the matter?”
Chen Mo asked curiously.
“The cafeteria is ready, right? I heard it’s hiring a few cleaners. I’d like to ask if I can have my wife work there.”
“Don’t worry, Mr. Chen. My wife is very diligent; she keeps our house and yard very tidy.”
“We’re not asking for too much pay—2,000 would be enough. Also, when the employee dormitory is ready, we’d like to have a couple’s room.”
Jiang Cheng said all this in one breath, looking at Chen Mo with an eager expression.
He’d wanted to ask about this after the weekend break, but had hesitated.
When he heard that the cafeteria had suddenly completed construction yesterday, he became anxious, afraid that the cleaning position would be filled.
Chen Mo breathed a sigh of relief after hearing this. He thought it was something more significant.
But for Jiang Cheng, this was indeed a big deal.
“Wait a moment, I’ll check with HR.”
He had already handed over the recruitment of ordinary employees to the HR department. He didn’t know if the cleaning positions for the cafeteria were filled yet.
But even if they were full, there were always other options.
Workshop cleaning, future employee dormitory cleaning… arranging work shouldn’t be difficult.
After a while,
Chen Mo hung up the phone, wearing an expression that was both amused and helpless.
He hadn’t expected that no cleaners had been hired for the company yet. HR’s explanation was that the factory location was too remote, and the people who interviewed for the cleaning job were older women who found it inconvenient to commute.
A few who were willing to come, after hearing that the cafeteria wasn’t finished yet, had hesitated, saying they’d wait until the cafeteria was completed.
“No problem. I’ve already spoken to HR. You can contact her when it’s time for your wife to start.”
“As for the salary, we can offer 4,000. As for other benefits, all employees receive the same.”
Chen Mo looked up at Jiang Cheng and said slowly.
“Thank you, Mr. Chen.”
Jiang Cheng immediately stood up and bowed to express his gratitude.
He hadn’t expected Chen Mo to agree so easily and even offer a 4,000 salary.
He knew the salary for cleaners elsewhere was usually only around 2,000.
Chen Mo had offered 4,000 and the same benefits as other employees.
When calculated, it was definitely more than just 4,000.
“No need to be polite. The benefits are the same for everyone.”
“By the way, how’s the work environment in the workshop? Is there anything you’re dissatisfied with?”
Chen Mo waved Jiang Cheng to sit down and casually asked.
“The work environment in the workshop has improved a lot, and under Director Li’s leadership, everyone is very motivated.”
“Originally, the workload was supposed to be done in seven days, but now everyone can finish it in just over three days.”
Upon hearing Chen Mo ask about the work situation, Jiang Cheng became much more enthusiastic.
Hmm!
Chen Mo raised an eyebrow, feeling something was off.
He hadn’t been doing overtime, so how had productivity nearly doubled?
“Tell me, what’s going on?”
“Director Li organized a competition and divided the workshop employees into two teams. Every week, the work output of the two teams is compared, and the team with lower output has to treat the higher-output team to a meal.”
“Everyone was already very enthusiastic about their work, but with this little competition, they’ve worked even harder.”
“……”
Jiang Cheng spoke earnestly.
Chen Mo’s mouth twitched when he heard this. He had thought that Li Shen had calmed down, but it seemed like he was still up to something.
Yesterday, he’d heard that Wu Yu from the business department had received client orders.
He wondered how those interns had managed to get orders so quickly, even though they hadn’t been with the company for long and had weekends off.
Now, with the factory’s productivity doubling, it meant income would also double.
Sure enough, this old guy was always stirring up trouble when he wasn’t paying attention.
“Efficiency is important, but you don’t need to work so hard. Take breaks occasionally and pay attention to your health.”
Why couldn’t they just have the same work attitude as before? Wasn’t goofing off nice?
Jiang Cheng was even more moved when he heard Chen Mo’s words.
“Don’t worry, Mr. Chen, we’re fine. Honestly, it does get a bit tiring sometimes, but the working hours are short and we don’t need to do overtime.”
“So even if it’s tiring at times, we recover after resting when we get off work.”
“Unlike other factories, where people are exhausted during the day and still have to work overtime at night. Eventually, everyone loses their enthusiasm for work and just muddles through, living for that meager paycheck.”
“But it’s different here with you, Mr. Chen. We have hope, and we can look forward to going out and having fun after work.”
“Yesterday, when the cafeteria finished, everyone went to the entertainment room. The massage chair was so comfortable. After sitting in it for a while, the fatigue from the whole day just disappeared.”
“So, even if we get a bit tired working for you, Mr. Chen, we’re happy to do it.”
