    Chapter 135: Aberrant 25

Compared to the scarce number of Players in Monster Domain this time, the number of Players in Blood Castle was much larger. And because the domains overlapped, Players from both domains roamed everywhere.

Especially those Outer Region Players who had never witnessed the horrors of Monster Domain and knew little about it—they seemed to think Monster Domain was less frightening than Blood Castle, so they flocked over here, drawn by the lights of Tianzi Building.

Thus, on the first night, dozens of Players gathered inside Tianzi Building.

The Association’s Vice President Cui and four others encountered a group of Outer Region evil organization members, forcing them into a chase through the streets.

After finally dealing with their opponents, the five took a short rest and went back to Tianzi Building, only to be heavily troubled again by a crowd of Outer Region Players running wild throughout the building.

Because this group believed rooms with lights were safe, they formed teams to rest in various rooms. The surge of people gathered in one place stirred up the building’s Weird Entities, and soon several people died.

Seeing their temporary companions die one by one in the building, the Outer Region Players finally realized something was wrong and desperately tried to escape—only to run in circles inside, unable to find an exit.

Under the unknown terror, cries echoed throughout the building.

“They already know this place is dangerous. Why are they still screaming here?” Magpie covered his ears in disbelief.

“Don’t mind them. We need to find Aberrant first. She appeared on the six basement floors; she should have awakened early and could show up anytime. We need to be prepared,” Vice President Cui said, igniting a ball of fire in his hand. His greatest asset was his special ability—the flames that could burn invisible things.

The red shoes on the stairs suddenly caught fire. The shoes shriveled like roasted meat, sizzling as they shrank.

“Let’s go upstairs,” Vice President Cui urged.

“Oh my god! You guys can actually kill these monsters!” a tall brown-haired man shouted, running after them with a desperate look like he’d found a lifeline. “Help me, take me with you!”

Vice President Cui frowned. “What’s he saying?”

Shu Hang: “He wants us to take him away.”

Vice President Cui: “These Outer Region Players are such a headache, tsk!”

“Don’t you dare leave, or I’ll kill you!” The brown-haired man screamed crazily, suddenly pulling out a gun. “Take me out of here, or we all die together!”

His ability was an un-enchantable firearm. Maybe useful in some dungeons, but in a domain full of Weird Entities, it was nearly useless.

The five from the Association, already rushing to find Aberrant, were now stuck facing both other Weird Entities and other Players threatening them with guns or timidly trailing behind, refusing to leave no matter how much they tried.

Even worse, these kinds of Players kept increasing, almost all surviving Players gathering behind them, this crowd was attracting every Weird Entity in the building—but there was still no sign of Aberrant.

“Where the hell is Aberrant!” Vice President Cui shouted irritably as he unleashed his flames to fend off the encroaching Weird Entities, nearly turning into a fiery human.

Meanwhile, the Aberrant they awaited was searching for her daughter in Blood Castle.

Blood Castle and Monster Domain were temporarily fused, and the castle occupied half of the building. Because of this, Aberrant could move from Tianzi Building into the connected Blood Castle. But since it wasn’t her territory, she moved a bit slower than usual.

Sensing an unusually powerful aura entering the castle, the vampire couple Harris, who had been asleep, immediately woke and blocked Aberrant’s path.

“It seems our domains have temporarily overlapped. As the castle’s owners, we warmly welcome you as our guest, provided you bear no ill will,” Mr. Harris said politely.

Even among different types of Weird Entities, there are hierarchies. Both are S-grade Domain masters, so their overall strength shouldn’t differ much. Yet Mr. Harris sensed pressure and threat from this visitor.

Knowing they couldn’t win, their attitude naturally remained friendly.

Aberrant’s eyes, hidden beneath her black hair, stared at them. Having gathered that she wasn’t a threat to eat them, she rasped, “My child.”

    Mr. and Mrs. Harris: “…”

    They didn’t understand.

Aberrant stepped forward, her arms moving slowly behind her. “My child.”

“Sorry, we might not understand you. Why don’t we find somewhere to talk first?” Mrs. Harris smiled and gestured invitingly.

Aberrant ignored them. Also unable to understand their words, she kept moving forward. As she drew closer, the smiles on the Harris couple’s faces faded, their eyes turning red.

Just as the atmosphere grew tense and ready to snap, a man in a suit clutching his chest appeared before them.

He seemed to be hiding from something and slammed the door behind him. But before he could relax, he saw the Monster Domain’s Boss Monster and the Harris couple—the Blood Castle’s bosses—watching him.

This unlucky fellow was Li Dashao, who happened to be standing at the fusion boundary during Domain Fusion and got separated from his bodyguard.

He was pulled into Blood Castle by the fusion boundary and immediately locked in a cage with a group of Outer Region Players.

After finally escaping the cage, he was chased by a horde of Blood Servants.

Mrs. Harris looked at Li Dashao with interest. “He looks a bit different. I haven’t tasted this kind of flavor before.”

Mr. Harris smiled at her and linked arms. “He must be from another domain. Maybe he can understand us.”

Li Dashao, who thought he was about to die, suddenly became a translator. He never expected that in this Weird Entities domain, the thing that ultimately saved his life wasn’t his identity or ability, but his ability to speak a foreign language.

He conveyed Aberrant’s meaning to the Harris couple, while uncertainly recalling whether Aberrant spoke or even had a child according to the information he had.

“So you’re here searching for your child,” the Harris couple understood the neighboring domain owner’s intention, and the mood immediately lightened.

Mrs. Harris smiled and said, “You’re here looking for your child? Could it be that your child wandered over here to play? That’s quite possible. I have two children myself—kids always like to play together.”

After Li Dashao finished translating simultaneously, the Harris couple clearly felt the terrifying aura around their troublesome guest lessen. If before it had been an overwhelming flood of malevolence, now the spreading aura had calmed.

    “Find her,” Aberrant said again.

It seemed a fight wasn’t necessary. The Harris couple exchanged a glance, and Mrs. Harris suggested, “The children should be resting now. Let’s go take a look.”

Maintaining their distance, both parties walked in step toward the castle’s underground, with Li Dashao walking between them, his face drawn.

Mr. Harris pushed open the coffin of their treasured children, revealing three sleeping kids inside.

The three shared one coffin, looking a bit cramped. The smallest child was in the middle, with one leg stretched out resting on Muriel’s left side, and the other bent, her knee pressing against Harriet’s waist on the right, forming the shape of the number “4.”

Both her hands were raised and resting above her head, pressing gently on the golden, silk-like hair of the other two.

Around her wrist was still tied a lock of Aberrant’s hair, and on the other wrist hung a string of amethyst beads.

Harriet and Muriel hugged her on either side like holding a doll, their similar profiles turned toward her.

All three children looked adorable. The scene was exceptionally peaceful and beautiful, making the parents standing by the coffin smile involuntarily, the atmosphere instantly much lighter.

“Look, our babies are sleeping so soundly,” Mr. Harris whispered.

Only when asleep were their babies truly adorable.

Mrs. Harris nodded. “It’s hard to wake them, but the guest must be anxious. Let’s wake the children.”

Mr. Harris was about to step forward to rouse them when Aberrant suddenly stopped him, swiftly and quietly using all four arms to close the coffin lid again.

“Let her sleep,” she said, her tone seeming even more urgent than before.

Apparently, no matter the kind of Weird Entities, they all suffer from their children’s antics. Hearing the guest’s meaning through the translation, Mr. Harris thought to himself.

If it weren’t for their two children being so fond of pranks and such handfuls, always sleeping deeply to pass the time in hopes they’d mature, but unfortunately, vampires take a very long time to grow up.

Though they didn’t speak the same language, in this brief silence, the three parents shared a certain emotional resonance.

After confirming her child was safe, Aberrant immediately prepared to leave.

Entering another Weird Entities’ territory uninvited didn’t feel comfortable, and she was also rushing to eat.

As hosts, the Harris couple politely escorted their unexpected guest to the door. Before parting, both sides exchanged courteous pushes and pulls—Li Dashao was the one being pushed and pulled.

“That’s your prey, isn’t it? Don’t be shy; please take him with you,” Mr. Harris said.

“…” Aberrant had no intention of taking her “prey” away when he was on someone else’s turf. She refused silently.

During their interaction, Li Dashao felt like he had become a New Year’s gift.

In the end, Aberrant returned empty-handed, while Li Dashao was locked back in his cage.

The Players who had been sleeping when he escaped were just waking up.

Li Dashao looked at the carefree expressions of those relaxing Players with a complicated look. Had all his effort just been for acting as a translator?

Mrs. Harris looked toward the junction between the castle and Tianzi Building and suddenly said, “Since the two domains are connected now, the children over there can come play here. Maybe Harriet and Muriel can also go next door to play with their new friends.”

The two little troublemakers, already bored playing at home and always causing trouble, might as well be sent to a new place to play.

“Oh, darling, that’s a wonderful idea,” Mr. Harris nodded approvingly.

Knowing the kids would wake soon, and that they’d get annoying once awake, it was better to send them next door.

The couple really understood their children. The twins, awakened by their parents’ presence shortly after falling asleep, simultaneously opened their eyes in the coffin and pushed the lid open with one hand each.

In unison, excitedly they said, “Father, Mother, you’re awake!”

Then they went to shake Qian awake. As she groggily sat up with eyes half-closed, the two flipped her out of the coffin and held her.

Qian, still dazed, was brought before the Harris couple and listened in confusion as they spoke. Whatever they said, Harriet and Muriel exchanged excited glances and nodded happily.

The Domain bosses and the children are so adorable actually. I kinda feel had for the players, well, mainly the more innocent ones, but ngl, I am fond of the domain entities more.

Hopefully the bad players like that one that once injured Abberant badly will soon be dealth with for good.
