Slacker Second Gen C01 (Arc 1 – School Tyrant)
by MarineTLChapter 1: School Tyrant 1
At the Ning Shui City Xinqiao Road Police Station, it was 8:30 PM.
Yu Qian sat in the police officer’s office, sipping from a carton of milk, her eyes peering through the glass at the bustling hall outside.
A child’s small face and round black eyes were reflected on the glass.
Outside, it was lively, with two drunken men just sent in from a nearby area. They were heavily intoxicated. One was shouting incomprehensible threats, while the other, like a lump of moving clay, slipped off the smooth bench and collapsed onto the floor. He squirmed for a moment, then crawled under another person who was having a seizure-like fit.
The carton of milk in Yu Qian’s hand was drained dry with a soft slurping sound. She jumped off her chair and tossed the empty milk carton into the trash.
A policewoman walked in and smiled, “Oh, what a good girl!”
She picked up Yu Qian and placed her on the couch, squatting down in front of her and asking, “Little Qian, do you remember your mommy and daddy’s names yet?”
Yu Qian remained silent, her dark eyes fixed on her.
The database couldn’t find any information, and no one had reported a missing child. They couldn’t get any answers from the child herself either.
The policewoman sighed helplessly, ruffling Yu Qian’s little head and comforting her, “Don’t be afraid, uncle and aunt will definitely help you find your mommy and daddy. Can you wait here for a bit?”
The policewoman brought Yu Qian some healthy snacks she had gotten from a colleague and asked another officer who was staying in the office to keep an eye on the child.
To the officers at the Xinqiao Road Police Station, the little girl who was sent in after being lost didn’t stand out much besides being cute.
But for the “two-year-old girl who got separated from her family,” she was, in fact, someone with a particularly special identity.
She was a traveler from another world, carrying a system with her, tasked with a mission to conquer someone.
A faint blue light orb floated around her, which was her system. According to the system, its code name was 65.
Since Yu Qian arrived in this world, System 65 hadn’t made a sound, almost as if it had died long ago. But just now, that soft blue light flickered, and System 65’s voice rang out.
[Host, since you haven’t encountered the main character yet, have you really not considered switching to a different conquest route? I can offer a free opportunity to reselect! Let’s restart, shall we?]
The following question sounded particularly humble.
Yu Qian looked at the small light, tilting her head, and reached out to grab it.
The system 65 flickered, its voice carrying a human-like sobbing tone: [It’s over, you’ve been affected by this body. You’re basically a real child now, there’s no way you’ll cooperate with me.]
As a conquest system, its mission was to assist its bound host in completing conquest tasks in various worlds, gaining the love of the target. When the emotional value reached “love surpassing life” the task was considered a success.
However, this time, the host it bound was doing things completely out of the ordinary.
When it bound Yu Qian, who had recently died, and told her about the task, the host didn’t show any joy about being resurrected or traveling. Instead, it seemed as if she had just received an overtime notice from her boss, visibly deflating and muttering, “Why should I keep working even after I’ve died?”
After repeatedly confirming the unbreakable bond, she reluctantly accepted the task, but then began to do things that shocked System 65.
First, she drew a bloodline relationship potion from the newbie gift pack.
This potion was explained as: [When you put the green hat (cheated) on the target and don’t want to be found out, this potion helps you make the child inside you the child of the target.] It was an emergency product to avoid a major mistake.
But her host, Yu Qian, with lifeless eyes, stared at the bloodline potion for three seconds before suddenly creating a child’s body for herself, then directly used the potion on it.
There were two ways the host could enter a task world: one was to enter the body of someone who had given up on life in that world, and the second was to create a body that didn’t belong to that world.
The second option was inconvenient because, in some legal societies, becoming an “illegal” person would be troublesome. It also required a lot of experience to create a body, which might result in a weird body that would affect life after the transmigration.
If it was a child’s body, then it would inevitably be influenced by the age of the body and would think like a child.
Yu Qian, being so proficient in making new bodies and combining it with the bloodline potion, was something System 65 had never seen before.
When it screamed [No!!], the little girl’s body, which was carefully shaped to resemble a real one, was already affected by the bloodline potion, gaining a 80% resemblance to the target of the conquest.
“It actually worked, this is great.” The satisfied smile on Yu Qian’s face was blinding.
[Host! What are you doing?!]
The system’s breakdown was as real as it gets.
[Don’t you know you’ve just become the target’s daughter?!]
“Love is love, and family love is also love. Loving a stranger requires a reason, but loving your own child doesn’t need a reason. I don’t want to go on this conquest, it’s too exhausting. I just want to rest. It’s better to be the target’s child and win without doing anything, isn’t it?”
And so, things turned out like this.
The system wasn’t sure if such love value would be effective, so it could only follow this unmotivated and sluggish host into the world.
Two-year-old Yu Qian curiously played with the small system light floating near her head but soon lost interest, fiddling with the snack wrappers on the table and occasionally glancing at the hall outside.
Once an adult worker, Yu Qian now, influenced by the child’s body, only remembered that she had a task: she was looking for her father.
Children’s bodies are particularly prone to exhaustion, and as Yu Qian leaned against the sofa, drowsy, more than twenty young people entered the hall.
They were all boys between the ages of eighteen and twenty. They looked like students by age but appeared more like idle youths from society.
“Everyone, stand in line,” a police officer sternly directed the unruly young men to line up against the wall.
The system beeped in Yu Qian’s ear, reminding her: [Attention, the task target has appeared!]
Yu Qian rubbed her eyes and climbed up, pressing her face against the glass to look outside. Within seconds, she spotted the target among the group of young men.
He was so conspicuous.
He was tall, at least half a head taller than everyone else, and strikingly handsome. His short black hair stood out among the yellow and green ones.
He looked like the classic cool and handsome school tyrant character you’d see in idol dramas or romance novels.
These young men had been brought to the police station for a scolding after causing a ruckus at a nearby snack street. The officers checked their IDs and asked the minors to step forward to contact their parents.
The young men, who had gained courage after drinking a few cans of beer, were now sobered up, many of them nervously rubbing the back of their necks.
Amidst the noise, a few people in the back row whispered to each other, “What do we do? We still have class tomorrow. Do we really have to get our parents to pick us up?”
“Damn! Those bastards are just looking for trouble. Wait until next time…!”
“My ID says I’m an adult, so I shouldn’t need my parents to come. Of us all, only Zai Ye and I are escaping this.”
“You idiot! Are you even a brother? Stop gloating!”
As the young men bantered, one of them couldn’t help but elbow his friend, the two playfully fighting.
Zai Ye didn’t engage in the conversation. He stood among the group, bored, staring at the posters on the wall, while his mind wandered.
He wasn’t afraid of this kind of situation. Getting caught fighting was a regular occurrence for him, and since childhood, he’d often been called by his parents because of such incidents.
But he didn’t care because his parents were always too busy with their own matters to bother. Whether he got someone sent to the hospital or got beaten up himself, they rarely showed up.
So annoying. When will this end?
Where should I go after this? Home? It doesn’t matter if I don’t go home. I could go find somewhere to hang out… Zai Ye’s mind was filled with trivial thoughts when suddenly, he felt someone tugging on his pants.
He snapped out of his daydream and looked down, meeting the eyes of a small child.
So small.
Is she even three? She’s not even as tall as the neighbor’s dog, and her hands are tiny.
As these thoughts passed through his mind, Zai Ye suddenly realized something: this child looked remarkably similar to him.
“Hey, whose kid is this? I feel like she looks just like Zai Ye.” A young man with spiky hair exclaimed.
“Seriously, look closely. It’s really similar. Zai Ye, is this your kid? How did she end up here?”
“Little one, what’s your name? Are you here to see your Zai Ye?”
A few young men surrounded the quietly appearing Yu Qian.
This commotion immediately drew the police officer’s attention. She noticed the lost child had run over and shifted her gaze between the child and the young men surrounding her. Temporarily ending her questioning with the boys, she called over a female officer on the other side to inquire.
“Do you think the young man looks like the lost child? They’re probably relatives. Ask her.”
Yu Qian and Zai Ye, who was still being tugged on by her, were both called into the office.
“This is the child who was lost nearby and brought here. Are you a relative?” the female officer asked.
Zai Ye shifted his legs, hands in his pockets, and nonchalantly responded, “I don’t know her.”
The female officer didn’t seem convinced. After all, the two of them looked almost identical.
She turned to ask Yu Qian, her tone softened: “Little Qian, do you know this big brother?”
Yu Qian tugged on Zai Ye’s pants and clearly enunciated, “Daddy!”
Zai Ye: “…”
Female Officer: “…?”
Zai Ye: “Don’t call me that.”
He sneered, and under the female officer’s suspicious gaze, he said, “Do I look like I have a daughter?”
The female officer asked, “How old are you?”
Zai Ye didn’t answer, finding the tone of the questioning rather amusing.
After all these years as a police officer, the female officer had seen her share of cases. She figured the young man probably didn’t want to admit to fathering a child at a young age, especially if he had only just turned of age.
She asked Yu Qian again: “Little Qian, did you make a mistake? Is it that your daddy and this brother look very similar?”
Yu Qian shook her head, speaking clearly, “Daddy! Zai Ye! Meal ticket! Big sucker!”
At that moment, the female officer looked at Zai Ye, her expression shifting from suspicion to reprimand. Her gaze now carried the judgment of someone who thought, “It’s irresponsible to let such a young girl have a child,” and “You’re so cold and distant, pretending not to know your child after having her.”
Zai Ye was speechless, and he laughed angrily. He was about to explain when he suddenly had a thought.
He looked like his dad, and this kid looked so much like him. Could she be his father’s illegitimate daughter?
He sneered and suddenly changed his words, “Fine, she’s my sister, from a different mother.”
