Chapter 301: A Baffled Gray Wolf—Is Lingling Circus Really That Far?

Priest gripped his heavy sniper rifle tightly.

In his mind, he kept replaying the words K had once said, and the deeper meaning behind them.

Even if captured by the police, he must never reveal anything related to the Organization. The best option was… to become a corpse that would never speak.

As a former mercenary, Priest was far more disciplined than Ghost. He wouldn’t act purely on impulse, fleeing and ignoring K’s orders.

So now, with the realization that escape was impossible under the police’s heavy siege, no matter the outcome…

Priest chose obedience. He chose to use the final thirty seconds to attempt an assassination on Su Ming—the man responsible for the collapse of the entire Organization.

If he failed, so be it. At least he wouldn’t give the police any chance to dig up clues.

    If he succeeded, even better.

Ghost and the others would handle the rest. K had already escaped Dragon Country. Even if the Organization was wiped out, as long as K was alive and the key information remained hidden, it was still an acceptable outcome.

But right now… he had to strive for a greater result.

If he could take out Su Ming, the leader of the operation, then these seemingly sharp and aggressive police forces would fall into confusion once again.

Without their keen tracker, digging deeper into the Drug Trafficking Organization would be far more difficult.

And in the future, if K wanted to rise again, without Su Ming in the way, things would be much safer.

Just like a few years ago—when the Organization had grown terrifyingly powerful—so long as they were cautious and left no trace, they were nearly impossible to find.

Now, he would give up everything and use the sniper rifle he knew best to complete this final mission.

With that thought, Priest took a deep breath. The bitter almond taste in his mouth was growing stronger. Without wasting another second, he moved two steps to the left, crouched low, braced the sniper rifle with his right shoulder, and steadied his balance to make the most of the last thirty seconds.

His legs tensed. Priest suddenly rose to a kneel, lifted the heavy sniper rifle with his right hand, rested it on the railing, and squinted through the scope, searching for Su Ming’s position.

When Su Ming finally appeared in the crosshairs…

Priest was stunned to see that Su Ming wasn’t crouched low, carefully peering through a sniper scope like he had expected.

Instead, Su Ming had abandoned his sniper rifle altogether. He was holding only a standard police handgun, aiming directly at the rooftop where Priest was hiding.

Was he seriously planning to match a police handgun against a heavy sniper rifle? Competing in accuracy and firepower?

Priest was momentarily speechless with shock.

But Su Ming, who wasn’t restricted by a sniper scope and had a clearer field of vision, had already fired.

    “Bang!”

    “Bang!!”

    “Boom!!!”

The moment Priest’s position was confirmed, Su Ming fired two shots in quick succession.

The third shot came from Priest himself—his reflexive response upon spotting Su Ming and hearing the gunfire.

But just as he pulled the trigger…

A tremendous force struck the side of his sniper rifle, throwing off his aim. Holding the weapon one-handed, Priest struggled to maintain control.

Still, with no way out, he gritted his teeth and forced himself to press the trigger.

The moment the bullet left the barrel, the impact from Su Ming’s first shot knocked the heavy sniper rifle out of Priest’s grasp.

In the next instant, before Priest could react, a second bullet followed.

    “Splurt—”

The sharp sound of a bullet tearing through flesh rang out.

His only usable arm was struck, rendering it useless in an instant.

    But that wasn’t all.

With blood pouring from the wound in his left shoulder, and the effects of the special liquid he had swallowed earlier, that second bullet became the final straw.

The impact knocked Priest off balance, sending him crashing heavily to the rooftop floor.

Across from him, on the opposite rooftop, Su Ming heard the sharp whistle of a bullet slicing through the air.

    A moment later…

A heavy sniper round, packed with terrifying force, tore through the wall behind him—narrowly missing him by inches.

If his first bullet hadn’t hit the side of Priest’s rifle and thrown off his aim even slightly…

Then that desperate final shot wouldn’t have hit the wall. It would have pierced his heart.

So close. But still, not enough.

Confirming that Priest had lost all ability to resist, both arms now useless, Su Ming pressed down on his earpiece and spoke calmly.

    “Breach now. Secure Priest.”

“He’s no longer a threat. Just make sure he doesn’t try to kill himself.”

No sooner had he finished speaking…

Behind the iron door of the rooftop where Priest was located, the SWAT team had already begun kicking it with full force.

    At the same time.

On the Outer Ring Road of Jiahe City.

Gray Wolf stared out the window at the buildings and scenery that seemed to repeat over and over again.

Then he glanced at the fare meter inside the car, his face full of confusion and disbelief.

He couldn’t understand—why was the city in the Dragon Country so huge? They’d been driving for nearly an hour, and they still hadn’t arrived?

According to the mission guide he’d carefully researched, Jiahe City wasn’t supposed to be this big.

He frowned in puzzlement for a few seconds.

When he realized that the buildings and scenery outside were the same ones he’d seen more than ten minutes ago, Gray Wolf finally couldn’t hold it in anymore.

He turned to look at the seemingly honest driver beside him, who was so cheerful he’d started whistling, and pointed at the fare meter.

    “You, you!”

“Friend, buddy, are you kidding me?”
