Mo Yubai listened to the announcements with a curved smile and crinkling eyes. Except for the Wealth Leaderboard, where she had barely scraped onto the tail end because she spent too much at the Service Area, she was first on every single list!

Still, she really had to thank B3333 for taking first place on the Mileage Leaderboard, all thanks to the Smart Accelerator he had modified.

Otherwise, on the second day of the novice period, she wouldn’t have been able to secure first place since she hadn’t accumulated any mileage on the Resource Island at all.

Fortunately, the Smart Accelerator was powerful enough to rack up over 1,800 kilometers of mileage in just that short span of yesterday afternoon and evening.

She had made it onto all four leaderboards, taking first place on three of them. With all the rich rewards the game system had handed out, she was highly likely to become a target for group attacks.

Hiss… Fortunately, she hadn’t hesitated to spend money in the Service Area. The money she spent in the training room was worth every penny!

Mo Yubai immediately scanned her surroundings warily. The scenery around her rapidly faded. The towering trees vanished in an instant, replaced by a vast expanse of yellow sand without a single trace of green.

The dark gray highway wound up and down, stretching endlessly into the distance. Beneath the yellow sand, rustling, crawling sounds occasionally echoed. The scorching sun was so blinding she could barely keep her eyes open, and sweat began to trickle down her cheeks.

Mo Yubai quickly pulled the Cooling Cloak from her backpack and draped it over herself, then put on the Constant Temperature Gloves. Only then did the burning sensation fade.

Taking a deep breath, she found the air so dry it made her throat ache. Her face felt dry enough to peel, and the windblown sand left tiny, gritty particles on her skin.

Putting her speculations aside, Mo Yubai stored the system rewards in her backpack. She quickly opened the game panel, retrieved the Pickled Pepper Fish Head, opened the door, and got inside the vehicle.

The Pickled Pepper Fish Head must have been made of special materials, as its heat insulation was excellent. Although it was still somewhat dry and hot inside, she at least stopped sweating profusely.

Mo Yubai washed the sand and dust off her exposed skin with clean water, sprayed on some hydrating mist, applied sunscreen, and then put on her sand-proof suit and Cooling Cloak, wrapping herself up tightly.

Once she was ready, Mo Yubai opened the chat channel to see what new information she could find.

“Holy crap, Big Boss Mo from our district is way too awesome. Complete domination!”
