Chapter 46: Upgrading the Forging Table

“Is the boss’s vehicle sold out?”

In the end, Mo Yubai traded a Pig-driving Stick, a set of Metal Armor, and an iron hammer for two Magic Source Stones.

It seemed that as the game progressed, players were starting to place a high value on combat stats.

In that case, she could rest early tonight and head to the chat channel to run a weapon-forging business!

With that in mind, Mo Yubai stood up in a good mood. She took out her Beginner Forging Bench, retrieved the Intermediate Forge Blueprint and the required materials, and clicked upgrade!

Soon, a red glow enveloped the entire bench. When the light faded, the forging table reappeared.

The entire forging table looked much more high-tech. The color had shifted from a dull dark red to a deeper, more premium crimson, and the number of mechanical arms had increased to eight.

The forging lava pit had also split from one into two. Faint, flowing patterns even rippled across the surface of the table, giving it a mysterious and noble appearance.

In a great mood, Mo Yubai placed the blueprints she had just traded for onto the forging table.

After confirming she had enough materials, Mo Yubai started the forging process. The eight mechanical arms immediately sprang into action, and the forging table displayed a remaining time of six hours.

It looked like the forging time had been reduced as well. It was currently four in the afternoon, meaning the process should finish by ten tonight. Besides, being able to forge two items at once was incredibly satisfying!

Just then, a stone monster suddenly charged toward the Pickled Pepper Fish Head. Fortunately, Mo Yubai had been keeping a close eye on the surroundings of the highway.

She quickly swerved the vehicle, dodging the stone monster’s attack.

Handing the driving duties over to Xiao Ling, Mo Yubai flipped out of the vehicle. During her sharp turn just now, she thought she had spotted a coin lodged inside the stone monster’s body.

Even though she was a wealthy woman now, every little bit counted. There was no shame in making money.

She dashed forward, dodging the stone monster’s charge with a quick sidestep. With a flick of her left hand, the iron hammer from her inventory appeared in her grip.

She swung the hammer with all her might, smashing it into the stone monster’s head. With a graceful twist of her body, she flipped upward and landed squarely on its shoulders!

The stone monster spun around in circles in frustration. Its short arms and bulky body couldn’t reach Mo Yubai at all, leaving it completely helpless against her.

Suddenly, it seemed to realize something. It spun around and charged headlong toward a giant cactus by the side of the highway!

Seeing the cactus looming right in front of her, Mo Yubai paused for a fraction of a second before leaping into the air.

Her silver-white cloak brushed against the stone monster’s shoulder as she landed steadily on the sandy ground, just a step away from the cactus.

The stone monster, however, couldn’t stop in time. With a loud crash, it slammed directly into the cactus.

It crushed the giant cactus to pieces, and its own body was instantly covered in steel-needle-like cactus spines.

Now, Mo Yubai really had nowhere to step. She could only take a step back with regret, keeping her distance from it.

The stone monster struggled to stand. The impact had taken a heavy toll on it. Loose pebbles kept falling from its body, rustling like a dirge of death.

Mo Yubai raised an eyebrow at the stone monster’s pathetic state. Gripping her iron hammer tightly, she decisively launched an attack.

The moment she brushed past the stone monster, she pressed forward instead of retreating. Instantly swapping her iron hammer for a longsword, she used a clever angle to pry the coin out of its chest!

With a sharp clink, the coin popped out of the stone monster’s chest, flying high into the air before falling into the yellow sand.

The stone monster’s massive body collapsed with a loud crash, kicking up a cloud of dust as it crumbled into a pile of useless rubble!

But Mo Yubai stared at the vast stretch of yellow sand, dumbfounded. She had noted the exact spot where the coin fell.

However, the dust kicked up by the collapsing stone monster had completely buried the coin, blending it into the sand. Finding it now was going to be incredibly difficult!

Clutching her chest, she let out a silent sigh. What else could she do? She had to search for it!

And so, the formidable and cool Rank One Mo was now bent over in her cloak, sticking her rear in the air as she carefully combed through the general area where the coin had dropped.

From sunset until the bright moon hung high in the sky, Mo Yubai finally retrieved the coin from the yellow sand.

Exhausted, her eyes vacant, her bones popped with a series of loud cracks as she stood up. She massaged her aching lower back with one hand while holding the hard-won coin in the other.

Mo Yubai gritted her teeth and held the coin up to inspect it closely. You’d better pray you’re not just a regular coin, she thought, or else I’m throwing you into the forging table to melt you down, no matter what!

Treasure Hunting Coin: Location of use – Resource Island. Silently recite the name of the mineral, food, monster, or other treasure you wish to find, then use it on a Resource Island. It will generate a white mist visible only to the user, leading the player to the desired treasure! Uses: 2/2.

After reading the description, Mo Yubai’s mood instantly improved. It made all that time crawling on the scorching sand and wasting a charge of her Night Vision Goggles worth it.

She had spent a full eight hours patiently searching while keeping an eye out for sneak attacks from various venomous creatures!

Putting the Treasure Hunting Coin into her backpack, Mo Yubai walked out of the desert and back onto the highway. Exhausted, she opened the two Bronze Treasure Chests that had been automatically collected this afternoon.

She swiftly dispatched the monsters inside the chests and checked the loot.

Seeing that the sky was now pitch black, Mo Yubai decided not to eat dinner just yet.

She had eaten too much at lunch and still wasn’t hungry, so she got back into the vehicle and set off again!

The highway at night was even more mysterious and eerie than during the day. Although no monsters were in sight, the air was filled with the rustling sounds of crawling creatures.

Tonight’s moonlight also seemed to be veiled in a thin shroud, making the road ahead hazy and difficult to see.

Fortunately, the headlights of the Pickled Pepper Fish Head were highly efficient, illuminating the highway for a hundred meters ahead as bright as day.

On top of that, Mo Yubai was wearing her Night Vision Goggles, allowing her to see even a passing ant from the driver’s seat.

After driving for another three to four hours like this, it was now midnight.

Mo Yubai put away the Pickled Pepper Fish Head and looked excitedly at her harvest for the night: two Silver Treasure Chests and one Golden Chest.

After killing the monsters inside the chests, she happily began to take inventory of the resources.
