    Chapter 55: Targeting Zhao Facai

Xu Qingtian ignored him completely. With a furious roar of “Charge!”, he surged forward.

Li Menghua followed closely behind, launching an attack alongside him!

Miao Ao gritted his teeth and followed. If he dared to run today, he would be finished as long as Xu Qingtian made it back alive!

Watching the three cars charging toward them, Mo Yubai did not panic at all. Two against three? Easy!

She turned to exchange a look with Wen Ruyan. Working in perfect harmony, one veered left while the other went right, executing a pincer movement!

Before long, the vehicles collided with a deafening crash. Mo Yubai’s modified Pickled Pepper Fish Head was clearly superior, ramming the car that hit her right out of the way!

The moment the vehicle flipped over, a tall, muscular man crawled out.

His skin was so dark it gleamed, and a scar ran all the way down to his jaw, giving him an incredibly savage look.

Looking at his completely wrecked car, Xu Qingtian was instantly consumed by rage. He charged furiously toward Mo Yubai’s vehicle.

Mo Yubai gripped the steering wheel with her left hand and accelerated, aiming straight for the scarred man.

The scarred man quickly dodged the oncoming car, but he did not expect three sharp daggers to fly at him from behind!

On the other side, Wen Ruyan had already swiftly killed Li Menghua as she stepped out of her car, and was now launching an attack on the tall Blonde Punk, Miao Ao.

Miao Ao watched Li Menghua’s body collapse with wide, horrified eyes. He roared, “Who are you? How could Sister Li be killed by you so easily?”

Wen Ruyan said nothing. Staring coldly at Miao Ao, who was cowering inside the car, she leaped onto his roof and pulled a hammer from her backpack, smashing the window without hesitation!

In the final moment of his life, Miao Ao heard a clear, bright laugh. “She is my Xiao Wenwen, Wen Ruyan.”

Wen Ruyan? Second on the Combat Power Leaderboard!

Damn it! He should have ignored those two idiots earlier! If he had run away immediately, he might have survived!

How stupid was that bitch Li Menghua to say that three of them surrounding the top two on the leaderboard gave them the advantage?

The look of sheer resentment on Miao Ao’s face froze forever. His clenched fists went limp, and his heart stopped beating entirely.

After killing the scarred man, Mo Yubai walked over to Wen Ruyan with light steps and patted her on the shoulder.

“Sister Wen, you’re just as sharp as ever, aren’t you?”

Wen Ruyan looked helplessly at Mo Yubai’s grinning face and sighed. “Where on earth did they come from?”

“I asked the scarred guy right before I killed him. They’re from District 2, and they wanted to take me out before the game starts.”

Wen Ruyan’s eyes filled with confusion. “With so many easy targets on the leaderboard, they chose to go after the toughest one?”

Mo Yubai shrugged helplessly. “Beats me. Maybe they thought the bigger the storm, the more valuable the fish? Go big or go home?”

Wen Ruyan really could not comprehend the bizarre logic of these geniuses. She shook her head and let it go.

Mo Yubai, on the other hand, looked at the three Pickled Pepper Fish Heads and grinned from ear to ear. “I hope we get more idiots like this. We’ll strike it rich!”

After gathering the loot, they did not waste any more time. They did not even bother repairing the Pickled Pepper Fish Head.

They would probably end up crashing it again when they went after Zhao Facai later, so there was no point in fixing it now.

The two of them sat in one car and opened the game panel. Using the Tracking Gold Coin, they selected Zhao Facai!

[Ding! The targeted player is currently inside a Service Area and cannot be selected.]

A look of pure exasperation crossed Mo Yubai’s face, and Wen Ruyan sighed as well. “Zhao Facai’s luck stat is probably about the same as Ou Ou’s.”

Thinking about her own luck stat, Mo Yubai silently clutched her chest. That hurt! How did everyone else have such high luck?

“Forget it. We’ll deal with him on the track tomorrow instead.”

Wen Ruyan nodded noncommittally, showing she had no objections.

After using the Automatic Repairer to fix their respective vehicles, Mo Yubai stewed some cola pork ribs and pork with glass noodles. They enjoyed a happy meal together before Wen Ruyan departed.

This time, when Mo Yubai tried to share the backpacks and vehicles with Wen Ruyan, she refused again, saying she would still rather have a week’s worth of breakfast.

Before Mo Yubai could even say that she wouldn’t cancel the breakfasts anyway, Wen Ruyan vanished.

Sighing, Mo Yubai let it go. If she pushed it, Wen Ruyan might get annoyed again. At worst, she would just make extra delicious breakfasts for the coming week.

It was now 12:30 PM. Mo Yubai set the three players’ backpacks to merge as sub-backpacks and hit the road.

As for the three vehicles, she had no plans to trade them for now. She had already scavenged most of the good stuff from the players anyway, so she would wait a couple of days and see.

There were surprisingly quite a few chests on the road today. In four hours of driving, Mo Yubai picked up three of them.

Two silver and one gold. Aside from some common resources, the Golden Chest also contained a recipe book.

She opened the recipe book and glanced inside. To her surprise, it contained formulas for all kinds of exclusive secret sauces!

Fantastic! She was in for a treat!

Along with the dish soap, metal skewers, tin foil, small brushes, ignition gun, quick-burning charcoal, hammock, and printed picnic blanket she had just gotten from the chests…

…she could set up a little barbecue when she had some free time in a couple of days. She could invite Yang Yangyang this time too. A few friends gathering together for a lively meal would be wonderful.

Furthermore, those three backpacks contained quite a lot of good items, and their capacity was rather large. Her total backpack slots had now reached 400!

Flint x2, Apple Juice x6, Buldak Noodles x3, Tomatoes x2, Watermelons x5, Fishing Nets x3, Paper Pulp Plates x2, Cotton Coats x6, Cotton Quilts x8, Sun Protective Clothing x1, Sunscreen Spray x2, Antidotes x2, Bandages x2, Machete x1, Tracking Gold Coins x12, Cross-Region Positioning Coin x1, Intermediate Workbench Blueprint x1, Sneakers Blueprint x1, Iron Blocks x12, Batteries x18, Glass x20, Leather x21, Refrigerant x1, Springs x35, Magic Source Stones x4, Peachwood x2, Forging Stones x8, Gauze x6, Starry Night Stone x1.

After holding a clearance sale for the personal items like the cotton coats and quilts as usual, she directly transferred the Intermediate Workbench Blueprint x1 and Magic Source Stone x1 to Wen Ruyan.

“Got these from those three guys’ backpacks. Since you haven’t upgraded your Workbench yet, you can use them.”

    “Thanks.”

Mo Yubai glanced at her reply and smiled with satisfaction.

She wasn’t too stubborn this time.

After driving for another half hour, just as the sun was about to set, Mo Yubai encountered a robot piloting a flying saucer.

The flying saucer approached the Pickled Pepper Fish Head at extreme speed. Mo Yubai stopped her car and looked at the saucer in curiosity.

A robot stepped out. It was very different from the robots in the Service Areas, which only had minor differences from humans.

This robot had a round, chubby body that gleamed with a silvery-white sheen, and an antenna on its head like a Teletubby.

“Honored guest, would you be willing to spare a quarter of an hour for a poor Wandering Merchant?”

Mo Yubai’s expression shifted slightly. Could it be the Wandering Merchant who sold Energy Stones?

“Of course. But could you introduce your wares to me first?”

Wandering Merchant Z7777 was delighted to see how cooperative Mo Yubai was.

Great, she’s not a broke peasant!

“Please take a look. These are my wares.”

Mo Yubai looked up at the flying saucer. The robot waved its hand, and the saucer transformed into a small stall, with several items neatly arranged on it.
