Chapter 56: Thoughts on the Release

Actually, I stopped updating last week, and this week’s revival attempt failed. The editor said the book could be released, so I decided at the last minute to put it up tomorrow at midnight.

Once tonight is over, I’ll be posting five chapters, totaling 10,000 words. This is all the content I have saved up.

From now on, I will update 10,000 words every day. It won’t necessarily be five chapters, as there are too many chapters, and the number of subscribers drops too quickly. So, from here on, I will combine chapters, otherwise, I might not even be able to maintain my attendance record on the website.

Depending on the situation, I might make each chapter around 3,000 or 4,000 words. But there will always be a 10,000-word update every day.

Now, let’s talk about the plot. This is my first time writing a historical novel. In addition to researching, I also asked my grandmother, who was born in 1947. I’ve tried to recreate the life and atmosphere of the 1980s in the Qinling Mountains as accurately as possible.

There were some small issues with the prices of clothes and goods in the earlier chapters, as I had a few details wrong. I’ll try to revise them later if I can.

For the prices moving forward, I will do my best to make them realistic.

This book focuses on daily life, family stories, and making up for regrets. The first volume mainly revolves around hunting to accumulate initial funds.

Then it will gradually transition into mountain driving and farming, with the main character slowly building a modern agricultural estate and enjoying a relaxed lifestyle.

The story will feature farming, raising children, fishing, and village life, emphasizing leisure, joy, and warmth.

I won’t delve too much into the darker or unpleasant aspects of that era, because I believe no one wants to read about that.

Since this is a historical novel, I won’t be focusing too much on business battles. At the start, the protagonist will mainly hunt small game due to the season and other factors.

Later on, there will definitely be larger hunts, and the protagonist will face various thrilling and dangerous situations.

That’s all for now. Thank you all for your support. Once the book is released, please vote more to help it go further.

As a true rural person myself, I’m really enjoying writing this book, and I’ll keep working hard to continue. I hope we can all encourage each other.

Also, today’s fishing trip was a bust, I didn’t catch anything, which made me so mad I packed up my gear. I’ll try again next year. It was so frustrating!
