    Chapter 16: School Tyrant 16

Li Xiu was also at the banquet. He was the kind of person who loved to join in the fun, especially since the Li family had a good relationship with the Wen family.

While other guests were hesitant to approach the young master, who had just lost his temper, Li Xiu had long gotten used to it. He walked over and teased with a smile, “Wow, you’re in a good mood today. I thought you’d kick him flying with one foot.”

Zai Ye gestured to the child in his arms, who was looking around, and Li Xiu understood, laughing, “Ah, so you’re afraid of scaring our little Qian.”

He couldn’t help but sigh, “Our little wild brother is getting more and more like a good father.”

At this moment, Secretary Zhuo stepped forward, “Young Master, the boss is waiting for you upstairs.”

Zai Ye handed the child, Yu Qian, over to Li Xiu, rubbed the child’s head, and then headed upstairs.

This was the place where he had been born and raised, so it should have felt familiar, but now it seemed strange. The carpet, the paintings, and the decorations had all changed.

He opened the study door and found Zai Yan sitting there, massaging his forehead. As soon as he saw Zai Ye, he said, “What trouble did you cause downstairs just now…”

Before he could finish, Zai Ye interrupted him, “Should I leave then?”

“Forget it, forget it!” Zai Yan stopped mid-sentence, not bringing it up again.

He shuffled through some documents and said, “I’m preparing something for Xiao Qian, you must have heard about it, right?”

Zai Ye replied, “Otherwise, what do you think I came here for today?”

How does he manage to make every word he says infuriating? Zai Yan looked at Zai Ye with a deep frown. “I always thought you were young and rebellious, but now that you have a child, you should understand the hardships of being a father. You should also understand the responsibility that comes with it.”

Zai Ye retorted, “Don’t try to educate me on things you don’t even understand yourself.”

For a moment, Zai Yan considered kicking him out.

He closed the pen in his hand and spoke sternly, “You’ve been wasting your life away. Have you thought about what you’ll do in the future? You’re not focusing on your studies, messing around at school, with a bad temper and worse character. You don’t even compare to Sheng Yu in social skills. How can I trust you to take over the company in the future? What can you give your child?”

Zai Ye scoffed, “Don’t worry, I’ll leave my daughter far more than you ever will for your son.”

“I didn’t come here for you to educate me. You should have done that when it mattered. It’s too late now. If you have nothing else to say, give me the things and let’s go. My daughter and I can’t stand being here.” He walked to the desk and flipped through a pile of stock transfer documents.

Zai Yan’s face turned red with fury, his veins bulging on his forehead. “How dare you speak to me like that! Do you believe I can make sure you get nothing today?”

Zai Ye smirked, “If you’re unwilling to give, then fine. I knew you wouldn’t be so generous. Let’s go.”

Zai Yan roared in anger, “Little bastard, get back here!”

Upstairs, the father and son were exchanging hurtful words, while downstairs Li Xiu, holding Yu Qian, was fluttering through the hall like a butterfly.

When Zai Ye wasn’t around, some guests finally dared to approach the child in Li Xiu’s arms. Every person who saw her couldn’t help but remark, “She really looks like her father!”

Strange faces gathered closer, and although Yu Qian didn’t show fear, she remained silent and just observed them. Li Xiu, worried she might be scared, took her to get a small cake and wandered over to some familiar faces.

Some second-generation people who had previously watched her at Skyhigh Game Lounge were also present. They sat on the sofa in the corner, talking about boyfriends and girlfriends. When they saw Li Xiu holding the child, they became excited.

“Come, come, let me hold her!”

“Get lost, do you know how to hold a child? Leave her here with me.”

Some younger people, who were meeting Yu Qian for the first time, refused, “Don’t put the child here. What if she cries? I’m scared of children!”

“Scared of what? Children are really fun.”

Li Xiu dismissed a young man sitting on a single sofa and placed Yu Qian on it.

Yu Qian, holding the small cake, ignored the others and turned to Li Xiu, requesting, “Yogurt!”

Li Xiu sighed, “Where do you expect me to find yogurt here… Fine, fine, sit here for a bit, I’ll see if I can find some.”

After he left, Yu Qian sat on the sofa, struggling to open the cake. After a long while, the packaging was too sturdy for her to tear open. Looking around at the young people’s faces, she found one she recognized most and handed the cake to him. “Please open it for me.”

The young man took the cake, laughing heartily, “See, she knows me.”

After some effort, the cake was finally unwrapped. The child said “Thank you” and took a bite, cream all over her mouth, before crawling back to sit on the sofa.

At this moment, a few young girls walked over. They were also familiar with the second-generation group and immediately asked, “What’s everyone doing sitting here? Has Zai Ye come yet?”

“He’s already upstairs talking with his dad.”

“Hey, there’s a kid here. This must be Zai Ye’s daughter, right?”

A group of young girls surrounded Yu Qian.

“Wow, she’s so cute, looks just like Zai Ye! Lingxi, don’t you think so?”

“…Mm.” Cheng Lingxi tightly gripped her bag, her expression watching Yu Qian with complex emotions.

Unseen by the crowd, System 65 flashed blue lights next to Yu Qian’s head, exclaiming: 【Here it is, the classic rich family scenario, the evil female supporting character is putting the heroine in a difficult position! She’s a rich young lady with a matching background, like childhood sweethearts with the male lead! If the heroine had appeared, they would have been engaged by now. The jealous, dissatisfied female supporting characters mock with words and actions, the male lead swoops in to save the heroine and slap the evil female supporting character in the face—】

    【But that won’t happen today—】The system’s voice trailed off.

After all, the heroine was only two years old, so it seemed she couldn’t fit into that kind of storyline.

Yu Qian looked up at the girls while still munching on the cake. Suddenly, one of the girls couldn’t resist and poked her cheek. The others saw the child stop eating, her mouth frozen, like a little animal disturbed during feeding. She observed the girls for a moment before continuing to eat.

One girl couldn’t resist stroking her cheek, and Yu Qian paused again, staring at the girl as she continued eating.

Amidst the excited murmurs of “So cute!” and “So small!” Cheng Lingxi finally couldn’t hold back. She opened her handbag, took out a tissue, and carefully wiped the cream from Yu Qian’s mouth.

The child obediently let her do it, and Cheng Lingxi’s hands trembled. What should she do? She was so obedient and cute! It felt like taking care of a little Zai Ye, but she was much more well-behaved than Zai Ye when he was a child. Zai Ye used to be a mischievous brat, and anyone in the room who hadn’t been angered by him was rare.

After Zai Ye finally came downstairs to look for his daughter, he heard the noise coming from the corner of the living room. When he walked over, he saw that Yu Qian was surrounded by a group of girls. The second-generation people who had been lying on the sofa doing nothing had been chased away. Only the girls remained, vying to take photos with her.

Seeing Cheng Lingxi smiling as she kissed his daughter’s cheek, Zai Ye’s face darkened.

What were they doing to his daughter?

Surrounded by a group of fragrant young women, Yu Qian remained calm. They took photos, and she continued to eat.

“What are you doing?” Zai Ye stormed over, trying to rescue his daughter from their grasp.

“What’s wrong? We’re playing with Xiao Qian. What’s the matter with you? Go back to Li Xiu’s side.” A slightly older girl stood in his way.

“Yeah, Xiao Qian wants to play with us. You can come pick her up later.”

“Are you afraid we can’t take care of her? Look how happy she is.”

Yu Qian finished her small cake and puffed out her cheeks, waiting for the older girl to wipe her mouth. Cheng Lingxi gently wiped it, her heart fluttering: “Xiao Qian, Xiao Qian, give me a kiss, okay?”

She leaned in, and the child obediently kissed her on the cheek.

Zai Ye nearly exploded, “What are you doing? Don’t teach her this!”

“Hey, don’t stand here in the way. What’s your problem?”

    “Yeah, go away.”

Unable to break through the encirclement to take his daughter away, Zai Ye was pushed to the other side of the room where the second-generation group was gathered. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing and pointed at the corner, asking Li Xiu, “Have they gone crazy?”

“Calm down. They just like Xiao Qian,” Li Xiu casually reassured him.

After all, among their familiar group, Zai Ye was the only one with a child, and she was so cute. What was wrong with everyone playing with her a bit? Besides, the reactions of the father were pretty funny too.

Zai Yan came downstairs and saw that Xiao Qian was finally handed back to Zai Ye by the eager young ladies.

Zai Ye stared at his daughter and scowled, “Why didn’t you want your dad earlier?”

    Yu Qian: “Yogurt!”

Zai Ye: “You just know yogurt!”

The father was practically sour with jealousy.

Yu Qian was once again handed over to Zai Yan. This was the first time he was so close to his granddaughter. Despite his usual cold face toward Zai Ye, when he looked at the child, a smile crept onto his face.

“Xiao Qian, right? I’m your grandpa.” He pulled out a stack of documents, “Look, this is a gift from grandpa to Xiao Qian. Do you know what this is?”

System 65, dancing wildly in its own world, exclaimed: 【Classic rich family drama: Evil father-in-law! I’ll give you ten million! Ten million to leave my son!】

Yu Qian blinked and spoke, “Ten million!”

Zai Yan laughed heartily. “Hahaha, this isn’t just ten million; it’s many tens of millions. But if Xiao Qian calls me grandpa, how about I give you another ten million as a red envelope?”

After throwing a tantrum in his room following a change of clothes, Zai Shengyu happened to sneak over at this moment and overheard Zai Yan’s words. His expression twisted uncontrollably, even more so than when Zai Ye had humiliated him earlier.

Why? Why did he have to act obedient and flatter his father just to get a measly hundred thousand or so as pocket money, while Zai Ye’s daughter—whose origins were unclear—could easily receive such a large sum? The thought left him so furious that he could barely breathe.
