Chapter 18: Killing for the Second Time

“Run ahead and don’t worry about me! The hotel is right there.”

“Sob… I can’t leave you behind, and I really can’t run anymore!”

“I meant let go of my hand. I don’t need to run, get it?”

Mo Yubai turned to look with interest when she heard this conversation, only to see seven or eight men chasing two girls.

One of them was fleeing while swinging a steel pipe with fierce momentum, sending the men surrounding her scurrying for cover.

Seeing that familiar dyed wolf cut mullet, Mo Yubai was in no hurry to enter the hotel. She took a step back, crossed her arms, and enjoyed the show.

The girl with the dyed mullet seemed to get annoyed. With a sudden shove, she pushed the long-haired girl who had been gripping her hand forward, then spun around and charged into the crowd behind her!

The long-haired girl also seemed to realize she was dead weight. Without looking back, she kept her head down and panted heavily as she ran forward.

Just then, a short, thin man took advantage of the mullet-haired girl’s distraction. Using his small build to squeeze out of the crowd, he rushed toward the long-haired girl ahead, dagger in hand.

Mo Yubai watched this scene without a ripple of emotion, having no intention of intervening.

In the Survival Game, it was survival of the fittest. Even if she saved her now, she would only die somewhere else next time.

Suddenly, the long-haired girl tripped over her shoelaces and fell forward. Her head, which had been lowered, jerked up, revealing a face that was incredibly familiar to Mo Yubai!

“Holy crap! Ou Ou!” Mo Yubai stumbled in shock, watching in horror as the man behind plunged his dagger deep into her shoulder.

Almost out of instinct, she flicked the feather in her hand. With a sharp swoosh, the feather sliced through the man’s neck and embedded itself straight into the ground.

A gentle breeze blew as the man’s body collapsed to the ground with a heavy thud, bright red blood spraying from his neck and splashing onto Zhu Ou’s face!

She was so terrified that, without even pulling the dagger out of her shoulder, she began scrambling frantically across the ground.

Mo Yubai couldn’t help but laugh at her panicked, disheveled state, but then she suddenly noticed the corpse, its eyes staring straight at her.

Only then did she realize that she had just killed someone again!

Frowning, she forced down the slight nausea and panic rising in her body. In the Survival Game, it was impossible to only fight monsters and never kill people. It was just a matter of time.

Seeing that the mullet-haired girl had already cleanly dispatched three men, Mo Yubai couldn’t help but feel admiration. Now, that was a true expert.

By this point, the remaining men were terrified and began to turn and flee.

Without hesitation, Mo Yubai spoke to the robot butler who had been standing beside her:

“Those two girls out there are my friends. Can you help me stop those men from escaping?”

In the Survival Game, if you provoked someone, you had to eliminate them completely. Failing to weed them out by the roots would only leave future trouble.

It was kill or be killed. There was no other way.

The robot butler wore a standard smile. “Of course. Please give me three seconds, and I will continue to lead the way for you shortly.”

With that, his arm began to transform. Once the transformation was complete, it instantly fired several laser beams. In the blink of an eye, all the men collapsed to the ground.

The mullet-haired girl, Zhu Ou, and Mo Yubai all stared dumbfounded at the scene. They still hadn’t snapped out of it even after entering the Presidential Suite.

“Ms. Mo, the latest Medical Pod has been prepared for you. You only need to lie inside for ten minutes to fully recover.

As for your injured friend, the small, portable Medical Pod over here has also been calibrated. Lying inside for twelve minutes will fully heal her injuries.”

“Thank you for your service. May I have the honor of leaving you a positive review?”

Mo Yubai finally snapped out of it and asked the robot politely.

“Of course, thank you for your appreciation. I will introduce the suite to you in detail later and bring some midnight refreshments.

Your personal chef is already in position. Do you or your friends have any dietary restrictions?”

“Ou Ou, do you guys have any dietary restrictions?” Mo Yubai turned and asked Zhu Ou.

“No, I don’t have any. What about you, Sister Wen?” Zhu Ou quickly waved her hands at Mo Yubai to show she was fine with anything.

Wen Ruyan also nodded slightly, indicating she was the same.

Mo Yubai smiled at the robot butler. “None of us have any restrictions. Just serve whatever is standard.”

“Understood. I shall take my leave now. If you need anything, you can ring this bell to contact me at any time.”

After dealing with the robot, Mo Yubai had Zhu Ou lie in the small Medical Pod first. Then, gesturing for Wen Ruyan to make herself at home, she lay down in her own Medical Pod.

Ten minutes later, Mo Yubai stepped out of the Medical Pod feeling completely refreshed.

Caressing the silver-white hull of the pod and looking at her left hand, which was as flexible as ever, she really wanted to buy this Medical Pod!

“Sister Mo, you’re finally out! You’re amazing! The Presidential Suite at the top of the hotel!

I’ve never even stayed in one back on Blue Star, and to think I’d get to stay in one in a game!”

Zhu Ou ran to Mo Yubai’s side with an excited look, hugging her arm and chattering away. It seemed she had recovered well.

“Is your wound completely healed?” Mo Yubai asked helplessly, looking at Zhu Ou who was clinging to her arm.

“It’s healed! There’s not even a trace of the dagger wound. It even got rid of my acne marks, dark circles, and that old scar from a dog bite!

I can honestly say this is the first time in my life I’ve felt this healthy!”

Zhu Ou excitedly showed Mo Yubai her skin, which had become fair, smooth, and flawless.

Looking at her upturned face, Mo Yubai suddenly realized that the small chunk of flesh on her own arm, which had been nipped off when she fought a goose as a playful child, had actually grown back!

The small indentation was now perfectly smooth, with no sign that it had ever been damaged!

Oh no, now she wanted to buy a Medical Pod even more! Mo Yubai thought to herself with envy.

“Oh, by the way, Sister Mo, this is a new friend I met. Her name is Wen Ruyan, and she’s super good at fighting!” Zhu Ou dragged a stiff Wen Ruyan over to introduce her to Mo Yubai.

Mo Yubai offered Wen Ruyan a warm, friendly smile. “Hello, I’m Mo Yubai. We traded this afternoon. Do you remember me?”

Wen Ruyan looked at the overly familiar Zhu Ou, her toes curling in sheer embarrassment. Fortunately, she was wearing a black face mask, otherwise she would have shut down right then and there.

“Hello, Teacher Mo. I’m Wen Ruyan. You can just call me Ruyan or Xiao Wen. Thank you for the trade this afternoon, Teacher Mo.”

Mo Yubai saw Wen Ruyan’s discomfort and smiled understandingly, not pushing her any further.

Zhu Ou, however, asked curiously, “Sister Wen, why do you call Sister Mo ‘Teacher’? Are you a student too?”

Hearing this, Mo Yubai also looked at Wen Ruyan with curiosity. Sensing everyone’s eyes on her,

Wen Ruyan felt like she was about to crumble. She wanted to kill someone just to break the tension and relieve the awkwardness.

“Ah, well… I’m not a student. I just like to collect anime merch, Blind Boxes, cotton dolls, and things like that. I got used to calling people ‘Teacher’ when buying and selling goods. Should I try to stop?”

“No need, your habit is fine. Don’t worry about it,” Mo Yubai replied earnestly to Wen Ruyan.

Looking at Mo Yubai’s sincere and respectful gaze, Wen Ruyan suddenly felt less restless and relaxed a lot.

Ding-dong. Just then, the doorbell rang. Mo Yubai gestured for them to sit down first, then walked over and opened the door.
