by MarineTLChapter 268: K Reveals His Final Card, Demon Witch… You Can Die Now
As Ghost left the residential house in the Urban Village, atop the Xingsheng Building, K was far from calm. Ghost’s earlier words had made everything clear to him.
The current Drug Trafficking Organization was perhaps slipping beyond his control. The so-called high-purity drug sales chain, if persisted with, seemed unlikely to yield any positive results.
Most critically, the organization’s vulnerabilities were becoming increasingly apparent. With Demon Witch and Ghost already on the police’s radar, the other members were only temporarily safe because the officer named Su Ming hadn’t yet reached their respective cities.
If things continued like this, it wasn’t just about whether the heat would reach him, but at the very least, all the members he had meticulously recruited over the years would likely be lost.
Moreover, all the organization’s lower-level agents had already been captured and taken to the police station. Even if he weathered this storm, the sales chain was essentially defunct. Would everything have to start over again? The time and cost required would likely be disproportionate.
K fell into silence. He could no longer think about the future because Ghost’s actions had sounded a loud alarm for him. Moreover, Ghost’s current state was very concerning. He needed to be dealt with quickly to prevent crucial evidence from being exposed, which would bring unprecedented crisis.
With this in mind, K looked at Priest, who was leaning against the railing opposite him, and spoke expressionlessly.
“Priest.”
“Prepare yourself.”
“I need you to go to Jiahe City immediately. If Gray Wolf sent by Q can’t make it in time, then you will give Ghost his final journey.”
Upon hearing this, Priest didn’t respond immediately. Instead, he took a cigar from his pocket, lit it, and took a deep drag, exhaling thick smoke without a hint of hesitation.
“Understood.”
“I’ll head to Jiahe City now and make sure he never speaks again before the police catch him.”
As soon as he finished speaking, K waved his hand, frowning deeply with a pointed expression.
“Not just that.”
“I now seriously suspect that Ghost might be planning to go down in flames and has hidden the evidence Lan Cai’er possesses somewhere.”
“So, Priest, what I need you to handle isn’t just Ghost, but also any evidence he might have hidden.”
“If that evidence is uncovered, even the Professor will be in danger.”
This request left Priest silent. After another drag on his cigar, he asked.
“K, how should I proceed?”
“You know… I’m not good at finding evidence. I’m only good at killing.”
K rubbed his temples, his thoughts a tangled mess. He took a deep breath and looked at Priest, shrouded in smoke, speaking with utmost seriousness.
“Kill that person.”
“I’ll try to have Gray Wolf deal with Ghost and ensure he doesn’t say a word.”
“Ghost still harbors a will to live, so even if he hides the evidence, it must be in an extremely concealed place.”
“Remove those dogs’ noses, and they’ll become headless flies again. The evidence Ghost hid might never be found.”
“So… kill Su Ming. This is your most important task this time.”
With those words, Priest nodded without hesitation, picking up the heavy sniper rifle leaning against the wall, his voice devoid of any emotion.
“Understood.”
With that, Priest turned and left, heading to his room to prepare various weapons and equipment. He wouldn’t say whether he could do it or how difficult the task was. As Priest himself said, he excelled at only one thing… killing. No matter who the target was, he was confident he could deliver a cross.
And K wouldn’t question it, because Priest was his final card, the one he never doubted. Once Priest was deployed, the outcome of the mission was already sealed.
At this moment, K didn’t stop with his decisions. Instead, he picked up the phone on the table and dialed another number. After a few rings, the call connected, and Demon Witch’s slightly panicked, raspy voice came through.
“Boss K.”
“What’s going on? Why are you calling suddenly?”
K’s gaze was icy, devoid of any warmth, as he calmly commanded.
“Demon Witch, your mission is over.”
“Those dogs have tracked down your current hiding place. You have no value or need to hide anymore.”
“What? K… Boss K, everything is fine here, nothing unexpected has happened…”
Demon Witch was already stammering, her fear almost palpable.
But before she could finish, K’s colder, more uncompromising voice cut in.
“Set up the camera.”
“I want to see you complete your mission with my own eyes. Don’t try any tricks.”
“If you’re captured by the police, I’ll make sure you hear the good news of your family and children being turned into minced meat while you’re in prison.”
“Thirty minutes.”
“This is your final farewell.”
With those emotionless words, K hung up and tossed the phone aside. Demon Witch’s exposure no longer mattered. He had decided to abandon the Dragon Country market, and any member who dared defy him would face the consequences.
At this moment, K stood silent for a few seconds, suppressing the chaos in his heart. He squinted, staring intently at the dark sky. Due to the surrounding light pollution, not a single star was visible, and even the moon was obscured by clouds.
Indeed, the weather was getting worse. Perhaps it was time to find a new horizon…
