Chapter 25: Bizarre! The Slash Wound on the Fallen Body!!

The police car sped toward the entrance of Shude Middle School.

Su Ming turned his head and looked out the car window.

He noticed that there were already quite a few cars parked at the school gate.

Some were official vehicles with Huaihai District Education Bureau passes, while others seemed to belong to unknown media outlets. The remaining cars were likely from parents who had heard the news and rushed over, fearing something had happened to their children.

Clearly, this incident was slowly starting to gain attention.

The police car also stopped at the school gate.

Vice Principal Zhang Heng of Shude Middle School had been waiting there and immediately led Su Ming and the others inside, preventing the media from getting a chance to interview them.

As he escorted them to the site of the incident, located in the abandoned teaching building, he sighed with a complex expression.

“Ah, I really don’t know how something like this happened.”

“Shude Middle School has always been a model school in the area, top-notch in both academic performance and school spirit.”

“Now, the Education Bureau and major media outlets are increasingly focused on this matter.”

“I hope the three of you can quickly uncover the truth and minimize the impact, at least save the reputation of this exemplary school.”

Xu Changsheng nodded expressionlessly, responding calmly.

    “Don’t worry, Vice Principal Zhang.”

“Since Director Lin sent us here, we will definitely do everything we can to get to the bottom of this fall.”

“By the way, on the way to the scene, I’d like to ask for more detailed information about the victim, Zhang Wan. For example, her family situation, academic performance, social circle, and such.”

“Do you happen to know any of these details, Vice Principal Zhang?”

Zhang Heng awkwardly wiped the sweat off his forehead and sighed again.

    “How could I know?”

“If we had noticed something unusual about this student earlier, I would have done everything I could to prevent this tragedy from happening, but it ended up like this.”

“But if you need anything, I can have Zhang Wan’s homeroom teacher come and assist with the investigation.”

“After all, no matter the outcome, we all want to know why Zhang Wan chose to take her life by jumping.”

    Just as he finished speaking.

Shen Lin, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, raised an eyebrow and coldly sneered.

“Oh? Vice Principal Zhang, you’re that confident?”

“We haven’t even arrived at the scene yet, and you’re already assuming it was a suicide? Is there no possibility of murder?”

Her words caused Zhang Heng to pause for a moment, unsure of how to respond.

Xu Changsheng, on the other hand, coughed twice, trying to ease the awkwardness in the air.

“Don’t mind her, Vice Principal Zhang.”

“Medical examiner Shen is our top expert in Huaihai’s Criminal Investigation Team. She always believes that only the body doesn’t lie.”

“So, before seeing the body, she remains skeptical about the cause of death.”

“Right, let’s get the homeroom teacher. We might need to ask some more specific details soon.”

Zhang Heng quickly nodded, then gestured ahead toward the police tape.

    “Understood, understood.”

“Better be cautious. We need to be thorough.”

“Alright, the abandoned teaching building is just ahead. The area surrounded by the tape is the fall site. Principal Qu is handling things there.”

“Three officers, you can head over directly.”

“I’ll go find the homeroom teacher now. We really need to uncover the truth quickly; the pressure from the Education Bureau is immense.”

Afterward, Zhang Heng stopped and pulled out his phone to contact the homeroom teacher of the victim.

Xu Changsheng didn’t pay much attention, pressing his palm forward.

    “We’re getting to work.”

“Although the school leaders probably hope…That the final conclusion will be suicide to protect their reputation as an exemplary school, we cannot be influenced by these so-called expectations.”

“Uncovering the truth is what we need to do.”

With that, Xu Changsheng stepped forward into the police tape.

Meanwhile, the troubled Principal Qu Wenbiao of Shude Middle School, surrounded by others as he inquired about the situation, turned upon hearing a reminder and saw Xu Changsheng, Su Ming, and Shen Lin in police uniforms.

He immediately exhaled with relief and hurried to grasp Xu Changsheng’s hand.

    “Captain Xu, right?”

“Director Lin mentioned you to me before, saying that you have a lot of experience solving cases. We’re counting on you for this.”

“Please uncover the specific cause of this student’s fall. The pressure I’m under is really enormous right now!”

Xu Changsheng nonchalantly withdrew his hand, not reacting to the mention of Lin Tian. He simply nodded and replied expressionlessly.

“Don’t worry, Principal Qu. We’re here to uncover the truth.”

    “But right now…”

“Please have the unrelated people leave, so they don’t interfere with our work or contaminate the crime scene.”

“Once we’ve finished examining the scene and reached our conclusions, we’ll give you the truth as soon as possible, without any personal bias or falsehood.”

“Of course, no need for bias, as long as it’s the truth,” Principal Qu quickly responded, standing firm. Then he turned and waved, shouting to the security guards.

    “Everyone, disperse!”

“Don’t stand inside the police line and interfere with the officers’ work!”

The trio paid no attention to how Principal Qu managed the security and school leaders, instead focusing their attention on the fall site a few meters away.

Although a few hours had passed, the dried blood that flowed like a small river was enough to show the gruesome scene that had occurred earlier.

Beside the dried blood, there was also a black body bag, inside which lay the victim’s body.

It was clear that the first crime scene had already been compromised.

Had it not been for Lin Tian’s insistence, the victim’s body might have already been sent to the morgue by now.

Shen Lin walked to the body bag.

Kneeling on one knee, she opened her forensic toolbox, put on rubber gloves, and prepared for a preliminary examination.

Normally, a forensic autopsy would be conducted at a police station or morgue, with a camera recording it in real-time.

However, due to the urgency of this case and its connection to a minor…

It could only be done in this special environment, without autopsy, relying on experience to determine the real cause of death.

Su Ming and Xu Changsheng also stood beside Shen Lin, planning to take a look at the victim’s condition before investigating the crime scene, hoping to find targeted clues.

    A few seconds later.

Shen Lin had made all the preparations and opened the body bag.

What greeted their eyes was an extremely young face. The facial bloodstains from the fall had already been wiped clean by the doctors from the ambulance earlier.

However, there was obvious deformation of the skull, and the limbs were twisted abnormally due to fractures. Some bone fragments even pierced through the skin, creating a grotesque appearance.

Had it not been for the doctor’s simple treatment earlier, the appearance would have been even more horrifying.

But none of the three showed any change in expression. Not only were they desensitized to the sight of bodies, but all their attention was focused on the victim’s left wrist…

Because there was a deep slash wound, all the way to the bone!!!
