Chapter 152: Tonight at Ten, Capture Rose!

Su Ming’s two capture plans made everyone present fall into serious contemplation, considering the possible consequences of each.

Lin Tian was the first to notice the flaw in the second plan. He frowned slightly, looked at Su Ming, and asked seriously:

    “Xiao Ming,”

“If we go with the second plan you just proposed, using a wealthy woman from Liangxi City to lure out Rose, how many people at most can we send to follow?”

“If too many people follow, it’ll be too obvious. That could tip Rose off and make her flee early—then it wouldn’t be any different from the first plan.”

“So how many people do you intend to send for this second plan? You also have to ensure the personal safety of the woman helping us.”

    “One? Or two?”

    It was obvious.

The experienced Lin Tian immediately saw that the second plan Su Ming suggested would require very few operatives—maybe just one or two.

Though this would allow them to get close to Rose without alerting her, the issue was…

Judging by how ruthless she had been in previous murders, and the brutal nature of the drug trafficking organization she belonged to, capturing her with just one or two officers would make success far from guaranteed.

What’s more, if Rose was carrying a gun, a failed operation could lead to serious casualties.

Any slip-up could result in disastrous consequences—and this was exactly what Lin Tian feared the most.

Although the first plan was more straightforward and exposed, the upside was that no matter how vicious Rose might be, she wouldn’t stand a chance against well-trained SWAT officers.

Su Ming could tell that Lin Tian was leaning toward disapproval, but instead of explaining right away, he answered the earlier question with resolute certainty:

    “One.”

“Director Lin, just me alone will be enough.”

“Rose may be ruthless, but right now, she likely still believes she’s safe. At most, she’s just a bit on edge.”

“So long as there are no surprises, she definitely won’t reject a business opportunity from a wealthy woman—nor will she suspect we’re already on to her.”

“With the element of surprise on my side, I’m fully confident I can take her down on the spot.”

At the same time, Su Ming silently added in his heart:

Even if she gets suspicious ahead of time, I’m still confident I can subdue her in three seconds and completely neutralize her.

    It’s not magic. Just practice.

Before Lin Tian could respond, Xu Changsheng had already stood up and said seriously:

“Xiao Ming, you can’t take that kind of risk.”

“In our task force, you’re the key investigator. If something happens to you, it would be a huge setback.”

    “Let me go.”

“Against a woman like Rose, I’m confident I can subdue her and won’t give her a chance to resist.”

“No, Captain Xu, I should go instead,” said the burly Guo Ping as he stood up, patting his solid chest and speaking in a deep, confident voice.

“Director Lin, Director Gao, Deputy Leader Su—”

“If we’re talking about personal combat and capture skills, I’m likely the best here. Just recently in a military competition, I won first place individually.”

“If we’re going with Deputy Su’s second plan, I’m definitely the most suitable—”

Before Guo Ping could finish, Su Ming immediately shook his head and interrupted, speaking seriously:

    “No, Squad Leader Guo.”

“You give off a very strong military presence. While you’re great at reconnaissance and counter-recon, Rose is cautious by nature, and that might give you away.”

“Same goes for Brother Sheng—he has a very strong police aura.”

“Even in plain clothes, that vibe is hard to hide. If Rose is observant, she’ll sense something’s off.”

“I’ve just joined the force, so I don’t carry that kind of feeling yet.”

“And to prevent the drug cartel from having access to photos of our task force members, I’ll also need to go in disguise.”

“In terms of facial features and skin tone, I’m a better fit for that too.”

    “And most importantly—”

At this point, Su Ming looked directly at Lin Tian, who was frowning deeply and watching him closely. His gaze was unwavering as he continued:

    “Director Lin.”

“Compared to the first plan, you know the second one, while riskier, is far more likely to lead us to the heart of this massive drug ring.”

“And besides me, there’s really no one else suitable available on short notice.”

“As for safety, please rest assured.”

“Back during the criminal investigation assessment, not only did I score full marks on the written test, but I also achieved perfect scores in both combat techniques and firearms.”

“This is our best chance to capture Rose. I personally think we absolutely cannot miss it!”

Seeing the firm look in Su Ming’s eyes, Lin Tian didn’t know what to say for a moment.

Since Su Ming joined the Huaihai Criminal Investigation Division, he’d never made a single mistake—his reasoning abilities had amazed everyone.

And during the arrest of Zhou Shirui, those few shots Su Ming fired were so accurate it was hard to believe. It was almost unfathomable that someone so young could have such freakishly good marksmanship.

Pushing away his tangled thoughts, Lin Tian stopped hesitating, looked toward Gao Chao nearby, and lifted his chin slightly to ask:

    “Director Gao.”

“Yuhua District is your jurisdiction. If we go with the second plan Xiao Ming just proposed, do you think it’s viable?”

“Based on what I know of him, if he’s this confident, then it likely won’t go wrong. What do you think?”

Though not one for politics or roundabout speech, Gao Chao understood the meaning behind Lin Tian’s words. After thinking for two seconds, he replied seriously and without expression:

    “Director Lin, Deputy Su.”

“I have no objections to the second plan. Compared to the first, it’s indeed more suited for capturing Rose and exposing that massive drug ring.”

“But I hope we can delay it a little.”

“The Red Rose Beauty Salon closes at 11 p.m. Can we start around 10 p.m.? That’s still over two hours from now.”

“Right now is peak customer time at the salon. From a risk and public opinion standpoint, it’s not ideal. But by 10 p.m., there’ll be far fewer customers.”

“Also, I’ll need some time to find a wealthy woman or businesswoman willing to cooperate—after all, this does carry real risks of becoming a hostage.”

    “What do you think?”

Lin Tian didn’t answer. He just sniffed the tobacco scent on his fingertips and nodded slightly at Su Ming, signaling for him to make the call.

In this situation, Su Ming naturally couldn’t insist on immediate action. He narrowed his eyes slightly and nodded firmly:

    “All right, Director Gao.”

    “Then tonight at ten—capture Rose!”
