    Chapter 29: School Tyrant 29

Dressed in casual clothes, Zai Ye walked through the fairy-tale-themed amusement park, carrying a shoulder bag and holding the hand of a child.

The child wore the magical girl dress and stockings with little leather shoes that Li Xu had given her. With her round face and eyes, short stature, and chubby little hands, she looked like a BJD doll. As they walked, they caught the attention of many tourists, some of whom secretly took photos.

Not only did they take photos of Yu Qian, but they also photographed Zai Ye.

After walking for a while, Yu Qian climbed up onto a nearby bench and reached her hand out to Zai Ye.

Zai Ye took out a water bottle from his bag and handed it to her, then took the magical wand from her hand, which was getting in the way.

In this fairy-tale-themed park, there were many children dressed in princess dresses or outfits of fairy-tale characters. Some were holding inflatable toy balloons or soft, floppy weapon props.

Yu Qian’s magical girl outfit blended in perfectly here.

Li Xu had been looking for them for a while, following the location he was given, and finally found them.

“Zai Ye, Xiao Qian Qian, I’m here!”

Li Xu walked over with his girlfriend, and behind them was a quiet-looking young girl with long hair.

Zai Ye had brought Yu Qian to the fairy-tale theme park because their cold war had ended a few days ago. To apologize to his daughter, he promised to take her out for fun.

He had asked Li Xu for his opinion, and coincidentally, Li Xu was planning to take his girlfriend, Li Xiao, to the newly opened theme park for a date, so he invited Zai Ye and his daughter to join them.

And that’s how today’s outing came to be.

“This is Xiao Xiao’s younger sister, Li Yao. She didn’t have anything to do, so she came with us.” Li Xu introduced the girl who had been trailing behind.

Li Yao seemed distracted and not in a good mood. When she saw the father-daughter pair that resembled each other, she couldn’t help but glance at them a couple of times.

    “Hello.”

After the brief introductions, Li Xu smiled at Yu Qian and asked, “Xiao Qian, why aren’t you calling me?”

Yu Qian, holding the water bottle and with a serious face, nodded coolly at Li Xu but didn’t say anything.

Li Xu turned to Zai Ye: “Xiao Qian is still mad at you? Why is she so quiet? Look at her face; it’s just like yours—grumpy.”

    Zai Ye: “…”

Zai Ye naturally had a grumpy face; it was a habit. But now, he was actually in a good mood. Looking at his daughter’s face, he suddenly forced a smile.

“She lost a tooth, doesn’t want to talk.”

On the day they reconciled, he had apologized, but little wild boar was still upset. She scratched him a couple of times and even opened her mouth to cry.

Zai Ye instinctively blocked her mouth with his fist, but she bit down on it. The two wobbly teeth in her mouth fell right out.

She ended up with blood in her mouth, and Zai Ye had blood on his fist. They were both stunned, and spent quite a while cleaning up in the restroom.

Li Xu immediately understood when Zai Ye said this.

It was a common habit. Every time Xiao Qian lost a tooth, she didn’t want to speak and kept her mouth shut.

And every time the child refused to speak, the adults loved to tease them even more.

“Xiao Qian, let me see which tooth you lost?”

“Isn’t it the front one? Let me take a look?”

“Haha, I’m going to buy ice cream later, Xiao Qian, can you eat it? Poor little baby.”

Upon hearing Li Xu, Yu Qian’s eyebrows furrowed. She suddenly grabbed the magical wand Zai Ye was holding and shouted at Li Xu, “Hair disappear!”

Though the words were a bit garbled, they didn’t stop her from having an impressive presence.

    Li Xu instantly froze: “…”

His girlfriend laughed loudly, and even the girl, who had seemed a bit down, couldn’t help but laugh.

Zai Ye led his angry little wild boar away to prevent her from casting the “hair disappearance” spell on Li Xu.

During the carriage ride around the world project, Zai Ye sat behind the child, watching many parents with their children. Most mothers were holding their children on wooden horses, while the fathers leaned on the sides, taking photos and videos.

These kinds of kid-friendly rides were gentle and completely non-stimulating. For someone like Zai Ye, who was used to thrilling mountain roads, it was so boring that it almost made him want to fall asleep.

But the atmosphere reminded Zai Ye of when he was very young, before his family fell apart. His parents had taken him to an amusement park back then, and it seemed like it was this same moving wooden horse ride. He remembered laughing happily just like his daughter was now.

She laughed so much that she didn’t even notice that her missing tooth was showing.

After the wooden horse ride came the roller coaster, which was also gentle. So, Zai Ye remained expressionless, like a child’s seat with a safety belt, holding his daughter tightly to his chest.

While Zai Ye played with his daughter, Li Xu took his girlfriend to other rides, leaving only the girl, Li Yao, sitting alone, watching others play.

When Yu Qian got tired, Zai Ye picked her up, only to realize that Li Yao had been sitting there the whole time without moving.

“Daddy, I want that.” Yu Qian pointed to a large cotton candy being sold from a toy cart not far away as she lay on the bench with her belly sticking out.

Zai Ye hesitated for a moment before looking at Li Yao, who was sitting next to Yu Qian. She seemed to realize and said, “I’ll watch her, you go ahead.”

Zai Ye quickly walked over and bought two cotton candies. He handed one to Yu Qian and kept the other for himself.

Yu Qian took a bite of the pink cotton candy and then reached for the blue one in his hand.

Zai Ye: “Finish the one you have before you eat this one.”

Yu Qian ignored him and passed the blue cotton candy to Li Yao.

    Zai Ye: “…”

What’s this? Stealing my cotton candy to feed someone else?

    Li Yao: “?”

“Are you giving this to me? Thank you.”

Yu Qian chewed on her cotton candy and looked at her. “Are you in a bad mood?”

Li Yao indeed looked down and seemed depressed. When she heard the child’s question, her eyes reddened.

Yu Qian, seeing her sad face, picked up her magical wand and gently tapped her hand.

“Here’s some happiness magic for you.”

Li Yao almost broke down at the child’s sincere expression, unable to resist gently patting her head.

    “Thank you, sweetie.”

After Yu Qian had enough rest, she grabbed Zai Ye’s hand and set off for the next ride.

With a dark expression, Zai Ye looked down at her. “Xiao Qian, do you think I’m in a good mood?”

Yu Qian looked up at her father’s grumpy face and suddenly poked her magical wand into his waist, stabbing him several times like a surprise attack.

Zai Ye couldn’t stand the ticklish sensation on his waist and raised his hand to stop her, hearing his daughter’s laughter.

She was showing him that, no matter how he felt, her mood was just fine.

Zai Ye: “You’d better not make me carry you when you get tired.”

Li Xu and his girlfriend returned, and when they saw Zai Ye pulling a small cart, with Yu Qian sitting in it, they laughed.

This trip to the amusement park didn’t last long, as Li Xu and his girlfriend’s engagement party was coming up.

Their families had similar conditions, and Li’s family was a famous wealthy family in the neighboring city. The engagement party was being held in grand style.

As Li Xu’s close friend, Zai Ye naturally had to attend with his daughter.

As soon as they arrived, Yu Qian was taken away by Li Xu, who wanted to show her to his fiancée and said he wanted to take some good luck. He hoped that his future daughter would be as lovely as Yu Qian.

Zai Ye joked: “If your daughter looks like Xiao Qian, things will be troublesome.”

Li Xu laughed and cursed, “Get lost, you rascal!”

Zai Ye walked to the window alone. He didn’t have much peace before he heard footsteps approaching. Turning around, he saw his father.

“What’s with that expression? Are you annoyed to see me? I think you’re the one who’s annoying,” Zai Ye’s father spoke first.

    “If you’re annoying, just leave.”

“I’ll leave after I’m done,” his father snorted. “Li Xu is getting married, do you have any plans?”

“I plan to list the company.”

“Who told you about this? I heard you’ve been getting along well with the second daughter of the Li family. You went to the amusement park together last time. She’s good, and if you get together with her, I’ll be satisfied.”

Zai Ye was speechless and didn’t want to talk to him any further. He turned around and walked away.

Who would have known, after the engagement party ended, their close friends sat together, and Li Xu brought up the topic.

“My fiancée’s younger sister, Li Yao, was recently tricked by her ex-boyfriend. Her family now wants to find someone she can marry, and it seems they have their eyes on you.”

    Zai Ye: “?”

    He frowned. “Not interested.”

Li Xiu: “Don’t be so quick to reject, Li Yao has a nice personality. If you get together with her, she would definitely get along well with Xiao Qian too. Think about it, look at you, at your age, you’re not even talking about love. Are you really planning to spend your whole life just watching over your daughter? Even the widows in ancient times could be more devoted than you.”

Zai ye picked up the pillow next to him and threw it at Li Xiu’s face.

“Stop saying that. I won’t marry anyone.”

Over the years, there have been people who brought it up to him—his dad, his mom, and a few friends. Some said that getting a wife would help him take care of the child, others said the child would grow up and leave, and having a companion would make life less lonely.

But even during the most chaotic times, when the company was expanding and he was overwhelmed, he never thought about letting anyone else take care of Xiao Qian, and now he definitely wouldn’t consider it.

The most important thing was that he couldn’t stop thinking—what if he married someone else and ended up neglecting Xiao Qian? Or if he had more children with someone else, Xiao Qian would feel out of place in this family… just like he did.

So, it was fine this way, just the two of them, father and daughter. It was good.

A friend joked, “It’s hard for Zai ye to find a wife now that he’s got a little burden, nowadays women don’t want to be stepmothers.”

Zai ye instinctively looked to the side and saw the child sleeping with her eyes closed. He then frowned and said to the person, “My daughter is not a burden.”

At the engagement banquet, there were so many related questions that became quite annoying, so Zai ye decided to leave early with his child.

As he walked out of the hotel holding the child, he suddenly felt the child lean against his neck.

Then he heard her say, “Dad, can’t you find a wife?”

    Zai ye: “…”

“Are you not asleep? Don’t worry about whether I have a wife or not, children shouldn’t be concerned with that.”

The child leaned on his shoulder, her expression somewhat serious.

When they got home, once Zai ye was out of sight, Yu Qian softly spoke to the air in front of her: “Little Elf, is it because of me that my dad can’t find a wife?”

System 65 repeatedly emphasized: [Host, I’m a system, not a little elf!]

However, its host was just a real child, full of imaginative thoughts, and very stubborn about the things she believed, always insisting on calling it her pet little elf.

She was still worried about what she had heard.

“Little Elf, does my dad not having a wife mean others will look down on him?”

System 65 muttered: [Host, stop worrying about his wife, focus on your own mission. Your mission target is almost complete, the protagonist’s affection value is already maxed out.]
