    Chapter 31: Mama’s Girl 14

The Mistress kept screaming continuously by the side, until Ren Sifan called 120 for help. Ren Sifan frowned and asked with concern, “What happened to Grandpa, Grandma, and Dad? Why did they all pass out? Did something happen?”

The Mistress finally calmed down. She saw that the computer was still on, so she quickly walked over, and when she saw the screen, she froze.

Ren Sifan walked over, curious, and soon he too was stunned in place.

It took a while for mother and son to snap out of it. Ren Sifan’s eyes were filled with disbelief. He couldn’t believe it was real. His mother couldn’t possibly be the one involved in making such things.

“Mom, do you think someone set you up? This person is really too much.” Ren Sifan quickly snapped out of his disbelief. Everyone could doubt his mom, but he couldn’t.

The Mistress showed a flicker of unknown emotion on her face, then calmly said to Ren Sifan, “It’s fake, AI-generated. I didn’t do it. I think your grandparents and dad misunderstood. The most important thing right now is to get them to the hospital. You go wait for the ambulance at the front gate, and guide them. Meanwhile, I’ll prepare things for the hospital stay…”

Ren Sifan nodded vigorously. His mom was innocent, everything was a misunderstanding. The most important thing now was to save them.

The poor Ren family—three people just lay there on the floor like that.

After Ren Sifan left, the Mistress, her body trembling, struggled to calm herself down. She first picked up an ornament from the table and, without thinking, smashed it into the computer. She knew it wouldn’t help, but at least it gave her a release for her emotions at that moment. If she didn’t do something, she felt like she might die.

But what if the Ren family woke up? Things would get ugly for her. It felt like a voice inside her was urging her, “Run, grab something valuable, and leave. If you delay any longer, it’ll be too late.”

When Ren Sifan arrived with a group of medical staff, he saw that the house was wide open and everything inside looked as though it had been ransacked.

Ren Sifan ran into the house like a madman, shouting loudly, “Mom, Mom…!”

No one answered. Ren Sifan stood frozen, unsure of what to do. The medical staff urged him, “Young man, stop thinking about other things. The most important thing now is to save them. Take your ID and money and come with us!”

Ren Sifan felt that this night was the hardest he had ever endured. He sat outside the operating room, mechanically dialing his mother’s phone again and again, but it never got through. He couldn’t believe his mom would abandon him—there had to be some unspeakable reason!

But he couldn’t convince himself, no matter what happened!

Ren Xin had finished causing trouble and still found time to do a few problems before going to sleep. Little did she know, she had almost accidentally canceled the Ren family’s household registration. If she had known, she would have rewarded herself with a big red flower for the achievement!

Ren Xin heard about the Ren family’s situation on a drowsy morning. Grandpa Ren had passed away due to old age and failed resuscitation, and while Grandma Ren had been saved, she had suffered a stroke.

As for Ren Pengfei, he wasn’t seriously hurt, but after hearing that the Mistress had disappeared, he fainted from anger again. When he woke up, he treated everyone equally with his irritability.

Ren Sifan, still at an age where he needed a guardian, didn’t know what to do about many things. Ren Pengfei spent every day angrily cursing, “You useless thing, just like your shameless mother…”

Ren Sifan went from feeling wronged to numb in just a few days. Eventually, he didn’t even go to the hospital, nor did he go to school. As for where he went, no one cared anymore.
