Zhao Yixin gave a reserved smile. “I’m sorry to keep you waiting. Are we heading out now to meet up with the main group?”
The assistant host shook her head. “No need. For the first day, we’re just filming your daily routine at home and what preparations you’re making for the wedding. Just make a list and hand it over to the production team.”
“Alright.” Zhao Yixin nodded. “Since we aren’t meeting up, I’m going to make breakfast next. Would you like some?”
The assistant host was pleasantly surprised. “Oh, definitely! I won’t stand on ceremony then. I never imagined I’d get to eat a breakfast you prepared yourself.”
Zhao Yixin shook her head with an understanding smile. “It’s no trouble. I was going to make breakfast to bring to Ah Hui anyway.”
The assistant host’s eyes lit up, as if she had stumbled upon an explosive topic. “Ah Hui is…?”
Zhao Yixin blushed shyly. “My fiancé. He’s quite busy and always forgets to eat breakfast, so I make it a point to personally deliver it to him every day. As long as I’m the one bringing it, he’ll usually eat a bit.”
The assistant host sighed with emotion. “You’re so virtuous. It seems your relationship must be wonderful.”
Receiving the praise, Zhao Yixin lowered her head bashfully.
The bullet chat was scrolling in real-time.
【Ugh, what kind of angelic wife is this? She’s already bringing her fiancé breakfast before they’re even married.】
【Look at the way she looks when she mentions him—that’s true love right there!】
【I support this relationship.】
【Even as a passerby, I have to admit Zhao Yixin is so virtuous. At least I couldn’t manage to get up every day to make breakfast for my husband.】
【??? Wait, isn’t this sister’s fiancé a billionaire? Why does he need her to personally make breakfast? This feels so fake. And don’t you guys think that a man who can comfortably accept Zhao Yixin’s breakfast every day without feeling bad for her doesn’t actually care about her? You call this love???】
This comment was sandwiched between numerous envious messages and was quickly scrolled away.
Not many people noticed the truth in those words.
In a short while, Zhao Yixin finished making breakfast. There were sandwiches, black coffee, bacon, and heart-shaped fried eggs. She arranged them one by one into a lunch box. Under her careful arrangement, the ordinary container became quite exquisite.
“Ta-da! It’s done. I’ll let you all have a look first. Because my fiancé grew up overseas, he prefers Western food, so it’s very convenient to make.”
After showing it off, she packed the lunch box and handed over the rest of the breakfast on the plates. “Try some. I’m not sure if it’ll be to your taste.”
The assistant host was overwhelmed by the favor. “We’ll love it, we’ll love it! Let me taste Yixin’s cooking on behalf of everyone.”
The assistant host took an exaggeratedly large bite, then gave a big thumbs up. “Delicious! Just smelling the aroma earlier made my mouth water. It’s exactly as delicious as I expected. Yixin, your skills are amazing. Whoever marries you will definitely be blessed.”
Zhao Yixin’s face flushed red, and she lowered her head in embarrassment. “You’re far too kind.”
Next, without even eating breakfast herself, Zhao Yixin headed out with the “heart-filled lunch.”
The assistant host naturally followed with the camera crew. Soon, they arrived in front of a large office building.
Looking at the building before her, the assistant host’s expression went blank.
“Your fiancé is really something special. This couldn’t be the CEO of some listed group, could it…” she said weakly. “Um, can we go up? Yixin, did you tell President Hui in advance that we were coming?”
It wasn’t that the assistant host was being cowardly; anyone who could open a company in an office building like this within the Third Ring Road was no ordinary person.
“Hahaha, what ‘President Hui’? His surname is Wang, full name Wang Hui,” Zhao Yixin said with a slight smile. “Besides, it’s not as exaggerated as you say. His company doesn’t own the whole building—just the seventeenth through the twenty-third floors. He’s just an ordinary little boss. Since we’re here, we’re here. There’s no need to give him a heads-up.”
The assistant host said cautiously, “Yixin, I’ll be honest with you. For someone who can have offices in this kind of location and this kind of building… what if President Wang feels we’ve been disrespectful?”
“Don’t worry, he has a very good temper. He won’t mind.”
After saying that, Zhao Yixin led the production crew upstairs with practiced ease.
She was completely unaware that the bullet chat had already erupted into a storm.
【Wow, it looks like the rumors are true. Zhao Yixin’s future husband really is a tycoon??? My god, this sister is incredible, she’s actually marrying into the elite.】
【Within the Third Ring Road, the seventeenth to twenty-third floors are all her future husband’s company, and she calls him an ‘ordinary little boss’? Does she have some kind of misunderstanding about what a little boss is…】
【The ultimate humblebrag.】
【Another day of being envious of her. As expected, a beautiful woman can excel in every aspect, even in her choice of men.】
【Suddenly feeling bad for Zhao Yixin’s fans. She’s about to marry into a wealthy family; will she still come out to work in the future?】
【Hahaha, let’s hope this isn’t her last appearance.】
【It won’t be! She promised us we’d walk the path of flowers together. Our girl is so hardworking and professional, she won’t give up her career for a man.】
【Exactly. Don’t look down on our Yixin just because she seems soft and delicate. If you know anything about her, you’d know she’s a total career woman at heart.】
The elevator reached the twenty-third floor. The receptionist immediately smiled upon seeing Zhao Yixin. “Sister Yixin, you’re here! The boss has been waiting for you in his office for a long time.”
Zhao Yixin nodded with a smile. “Good morning. I’ll head in then.”
As the group started to walk in, the receptionist spoke up hesitantly. “Sister Yixin, these people are…? Perhaps they should wait a moment? After all, you’re the only one in the company with the privilege to enter the boss’s office at any time. If they want to go in too, I should probably report to the boss first.”
There was a lot of information packed into those words. Sure enough, when the fans heard the word “privilege,” they started buzzing with excitement again.
Zhao Yixin turned and gave a slight smile. “I’m filming a show. These are the camera crew. It’s fine, no need to report. I’m here, don’t worry.”
Hearing this, the receptionist obediently let them through.
Zhao Yixin pushed open the door to Wang Hui’s office. The cameraman immediately adjusted his angle to film the interior.
The office was decorated with extreme luxury, a heavy European style hitting them in the face. A man sat languidly in a vintage chair, holding a cigar and blowing out clouds of smoke.
Through the swirling haze of smoke, that face turned toward them with a casual glance. Though his features were only average, the moment seemed to elevate his entire presence.
He handed his cigar to the nearby cigar sommelier and stood up with a look of pleasant surprise. “Baby, you’re here.”
Zhao Yixin gave him a playful wink. “Are you hungry? Come on, let’s eat.”
“Alright.” Wang Hui nodded to her, then put on a look of feigned surprise. “And they are?”
Zhao Yixin walked over, clutching his sleeve as she stood on her tiptoes. She leaned into his ear and whispered, “It’s that show I told you about. Filming has started, so they have to follow me around. You don’t mind being on camera, do you?”
“Of course I don’t mind. Whatever matters to you comes first, baby.” Wang Hui pinched her earring gently. “Please, make yourselves at home. I’m going to have breakfast with Yixin first.”
The assistant director immediately nodded with respect. “Don’t mind us, sir. We’ll just be gathering footage off to the side.”
Out of the production crew’s line of sight, Zhao Yixin shot Wang Hui a subtle look, and Wang Hui nodded in understanding.
He adjusted his position slightly, and in a spot hidden from the cameraman, he quietly pulled out his phone to check the live stream.
As expected, the comments scrolling across the screen were exactly what he had hoped for, leaving him thoroughly satisfied.
