    Chapter 27: A Bountiful Harvest

“It’s fine, I’ll contact A1 and tell her I took the things. She won’t blame you,” Mo Yubai said, pressing her advantage when she saw the little robot’s helplessness.

“Alright then.” Sure enough, A9000 was no match for Mo Yubai’s thick skin and began to compromise.

And so, Mo Yubai happily followed behind A9000, scavenging for scraps!

    Take this, and take that!

This is mine, and that is mine too!

A9000 had never experienced anything like this. It was the first time someone had worked alongside her, and they were so happy, without a single complaint!

In her heart, A9000 silently praised, She really is a hardworking, cute, and kind human! I like her!

Once the cleaning (looting) was complete, Mo Yubai waved a cheerful goodbye to A9000. Under the robot’s reluctant gaze, she happily stepped into the flying car that would take her away.

Stepping out of the Service Area’s main gate, the familiar highway stretched out before her.

Looking back, she saw only lush, green trees. All traces of the Service Area had vanished.

Mo Yubai rode her Electric Tricycle down the highway. She was in an excellent mood, thinking about the massive haul in her backpack: a pile of cups and teapots, three sets of bedsheets, duvet covers, and pillows, as well as pajamas, slippers, soap, aromatherapy items, handkerchiefs, all-in-one body wash, and more.

On top of that, the cute little robot A9000 had gifted her a small, square robot keychain modeled after herself.

Looking at the little robot keychain hanging next to her lucky cat charm, Mo Yubai smiled.

As they say, a girl who speaks up and isn’t afraid to ask will always get something, no matter how bad her luck is.

The Night Vision Goggles were repaired, so she could ride at night. She needed to hurry up and cover some distance.

The modified Electric Tricycle was truly something else. Mo Yubai felt like she was flying.

However, B3564 seemed to have forgotten to install a windshield. She felt like her face was being warped by the rushing wind.

She didn’t even have to get off her vehicle. Sitting on her Electric Tricycle, she collected two Bronze Treasure Chests and one Wooden Treasure Chest over the course of the afternoon. Going faster really made a difference.

After opening the chests and easily dispatching the monsters inside with her Bird-head Staff, Mo Yubai began sorting through her upgrade materials.

Her afternoon chest loot consisted of: sandproof masks x2, sandproof suit x1, sleeping bags x2, sandproof goggles x1, detoxification ointment x4, cooling balm x6, towels x3, Space Stones x3, hydrating mist x2, combat boots x2, toilet paper x4, water cups x2, wooden buckets x4, mineral water x6, machetes x3, nylon ropes x6, leather x21, glass x8, stone blocks x12, Iron Blocks x18, batteries x8, plastic x10, wood x16, fiber x4, and rubber x16.

After organizing her backpack inventory, she lit a campfire to brew some Three-gold Fish soup. Opening the chat channel, she noticed a little red dot on her private messages.

Surprisingly, it was a message from Wen Ruyan.

“Teacher Mo, I have a few too many mushrooms, so I sent some to you.”

Confused, Mo Yubai accepted the mushrooms Wen Ruyan sent. There really were quite a few, twenty-four in total, and all of them were shiitake mushrooms.

“Why are you suddenly sending me mushrooms?” Mo Yubai asked curiously.

“Someone used a Tracking Gold Coin to come kill me. I turned the tables and killed him, and his car was full of mushrooms, over fifty of them. I sent some to Ou Ou too.”

Mo Yubai felt a pang of jealousy. Having high luck was truly amazing. People would travel thousands of miles just to deliver supplies! Why wasn’t anyone using a Tracking Gold Coin to come kill her?

“So are you having mushroom soup for dinner?”

“Too lazy to cook. Eating them raw.”

The brief reply left Mo Yubai speechless. What kind of oddball was this?

That girl Zhu Ou only knew how to make instant noodles, and this one was even worse, eating raw mushrooms. In the end, she, a culinary novice, had somehow become the best cook among them.

Mo Yubai messaged back, exasperated, “Stop chewing on raw mushrooms. My fish soup is ready. Send me your bowl and I’ll scoop some for you.”

    “My savior.”

Mo Yubai took the bowl, filled it for her, and sent it back. She also pinged Zhu Ou and sent her a bowl as well. Finally, she sat back to enjoy her fish soup and the leftover spicy diced chicken she had packed from lunch.

Good food really could soothe any grievance. Mo Yubai lay flat on her luxury Electric Tricycle, watching the sun set behind the trees, listening to the birds chirp, and feeling the cool breeze on her face. It was quite a pleasant experience.

“Ahhh! Sister Mo, you sent me food again! I really don’t know how to cook. I’ll send you all the ingredients I can’t eat raw. Just give me a bowl of fish soup when you cook.”

“You don’t have to give me food every time you cook, either. I have other instant foods. I can still manage to make instant noodles.”

Seeing the items Zhu Ou sent over (potatoes x2, ribs x1, pork x2, garlic sprouts x3, celery x1, onion x1, chili peppers x5, Sichuan peppercorns x3), Mo Yubai couldn’t help but curse inwardly: I hate lucky bastards.

Fortunately, time was frozen inside the backpack, otherwise these good ingredients would have gone to waste.

Besides, these ingredients could easily make several meals, yet that girl just sat there eating her stupid instant noodles every day.

Accepting the ingredients without any guilt, Mo Yubai began to advise her: “The novice period ends tomorrow, but your combat ability is way too low. Next time we find a Service Area, I’ll take you to a special training ground. If you really want to survive in Highway Survival long-term, luck alone won’t cut it. Your own strength is very important.”

“Okay, Sister Mo, I’ll do whatever you say! Once we get to the Service Area training ground, I’ll train hard and do my best to improve so I can keep up with you!” Zhu Ou’s eyes welled up slightly as she read Mo Yubai’s advice. Meeting Sister Mo in this game was truly her greatest stroke of luck. The two coins she had tipped Sister Mo back then were the best money she had ever spent in her life!

She chatted with Zhu Ou a bit longer, cleaned up after her meal, put out the campfire, and set off again on her Electric Tricycle!

By now, the sky was completely dark, but the headlights on the modified Electric Tricycle were blindingly bright!

Not only could she see the highway clearly, but even the nearby bushes along the roadside were illuminated perfectly!

After picking up two Wooden Treasure Chests along the way, she came across a Silver Treasure Chest. Mo Yubai got off her Electric Tricycle to fight.

Three flying daggers shot forward like lightning, whistling sharply as they cut through the air. They smoothly severed the gray wolf’s head. The silver blades remained pristine and unstained by blood as they spun back into Mo Yubai’s hands.

Mo Yubai looked at the flying daggers in her hands with delight. This was so worth it! It was exactly the effect she wanted. She would definitely buy from C8888 again next time!

Having easily ended the battle, she hopped back onto her vehicle and set off once more!

She didn’t stop until around one in the morning, having picked up another Bronze Treasure Chest along the way.

The quality of the chests tonight was quite good. In addition to basic resources, she also got Tracking Gold Coins x3, Night Vision Goggles x3, Constant Temperature Gloves x3, and cat throw pillows x3.

She opened the game panel to check her vehicle upgrade materials:

    Iron Blocks: 220/160, Plastic: 57/50, Batteries: 150/100, Rubber: 50/40, Glass: 28/30, Leather: 38/35

She was just two pieces of glass away from upgrading.
