    Chapter 13

Outside Minggao High School was a main road, and at this time, many parents were either picking up their children or delivering items to them. Seeing the situation, someone immediately took out their phone to call for an ambulance. Shen Lihuan slung her backpack over her shoulder and quickly walked over, only to see the elderly man lying unconscious on the ground, seemingly in shock. His face was pale, and cold sweat continuously beaded on his forehead and neck.

Could this be a myocardial infarction(Heart Attack)?

Shen Lihuan quickly addressed the surrounding crowd, who had gathered with anxious expressions. “Everyone, please step back and give him some space. The old man needs air.”

The crowd hurriedly retreated, not daring to get too close for fear of worsening his condition.

“What should we do? None of us know first aid. Could this be a stroke?”

“Oh God, I hope the ambulance gets here soon. If it’s a stroke or cerebral hemorrhage and we don’t get him to a hospital quickly, the consequences will be dire.”

“Is anyone here a doctor or nurse? Or does anyone know first aid?”

    People anxiously called out.

“I know some first aid. Let me try,” Shen Lihuan responded calmly. She knelt down and carefully laid the elderly man flat while asking the crying girl beside him, “Does Grandpa have a history of myocardial infarction?”

The girl looked up, confused. “Huh? I don’t know…”

She seemed genuinely unaware, tears rolling down her face again. “I only know he was hospitalized once, but my parents never told me what for.”

Seeing that she wouldn’t get an answer, Shen Lihuan directly reached into the old man’s jacket pocket. If he had suffered from this condition before, he should be carrying medication for emergencies.

    There it was!

Shen Lihuan pulled out a small bottle from the right pocket. Upon examining it, she confirmed that it was emergency heart medicine—quick-acting heart pills. Her diagnosis was correct. She had no water on her, so she immediately looked up at the crowd. “Does anyone have water? The old man is having a heart attack. I need water to help him take his medication.”

    “I have water!”

A male student fumbled through his backpack and quickly pulled out a bottle. Shen Lihuan swiftly took it, administered the pills to the elderly man, and, to be safe, immediately began performing CPR. At the same time, she channeled her special ability into his body to protect his heart.

Yao Changqing and the crowd watched anxiously, feeling helpless for not knowing any medical knowledge to assist.

Time passed, second by second. After three long minutes, the elderly man finally showed signs of consciousness, and his breathing stabilized. The girl burst into joyful tears. “Grandpa, you’re finally awake! You scared me to death!”

As the old man regained consciousness, the tension in the crowd lifted, and they looked at Shen Lihuan with admiration and awe.

In Green Country, the doctor-patient relationship was harmonious, and doctors were held in high regard. Skilled and well-known doctors even had their own fan clubs. Searching for “best doctors” on Green Country’s internet would bring up an official ranking list that considered factors like years of experience, specialties, and success rates. Only the top-tier doctors made it onto the list.

In other words, being a doctor was not only an honorable profession but also a highly respected and well-paid one. It was ranked as the second most desirable profession in Green Country, just behind entrepreneurship.

Now that Shen Lihuan had saved the elderly man’s life, it was no surprise that people admired her.

The elderly man, overwhelmed with gratitude, tried to stand up and bow to her, but Shen Lihuan quickly stopped him. Myocardial infarctions were serious, and it was best to be cautious. He had just regained consciousness and should avoid making any sudden movements.

The ambulance soon arrived, and the medical team was surprised to see the old man awake. Wasn’t he supposed to be unconscious? The elderly man repeatedly expressed his gratitude to Shen Lihuan, saying that if not for her, he wouldn’t have survived.

The doctor, understanding what had happened, gave Shen Lihuan a look of approval. “Well done.”

To prevent a relapse, the medical staff carefully helped the elderly man onto the ambulance, taking both grandfather and granddaughter to the hospital.

As Shen Lihuan watched the departing ambulance, she finally let out a breath of relief.
