Stealing ML’s White Moonlight C08
by MarineTLChapter 8
Shen Jiashu and his wife had fully recovered, and next, they were busy with rehabilitation and preparing for the banquet.
As Shen Jiashu put it, after lying in bed for two months, he had practically forgotten how to walk. So, both he and his wife were diligently following the doctor’s instructions for their rehabilitation.
During this time, Shen Lihuan also received the information she had been waiting for.
Ever since she had assigned her little plants to monitor Liang Yinqiu, Shen Lihuan had been keeping tabs on her every move. Nighttime was when the little plants would report back to her. That evening, a creeping vine took the lead, wrapping its tendrils around Shen Lihuan’s wrist.
“Big Sister, Big Sister! Something happened tonight! We saw an old man walk into that bad woman’s room!”
An old man? Could it be Shen Zhongyuan?
Shen Lihuan’s expression darkened, and she immediately sat up straight. “Do you know who that old man is? What did they talk about?”
“I know! Let me say it!” A spider plant stretched its leaves excitedly and rushed to answer.
[The old man entered the bad woman’s room, grabbed her chin, and said: “Don’t think I don’t know that what Pingting said was taught by you. Even if Pingting becomes the master of Shen Corporation in the future, it has nothing to do with you. The moment I die, you’ll have to follow me to the grave!”
The bad woman raised her hand and wrapped her arms around the old man’s neck, saying, “Pingting is my daughter; of course, I have to plan for her. And of course, if you die, I will follow you in death because I truly love you. Otherwise, why would I abandon my young and handsome husband to have an affair with my own father-in-law?”
After that, they turned off the lights, took off their clothes, and got into bed. Our poor orchid brother was so embarrassed. ]
The spider plant shook its vines in disgust, clearly disdainful of Liang Yinqiu and Shen Zhongyuan’s actions.
“Yeah, it’s disgusting.” Shen Lihuan’s gaze turned icy.
After the apocalypse, laws had collapsed, morals had crumbled, and the darkest parts of human nature had been unleashed. Shen Lihuan had witnessed plenty of revolting things, but she still found people like this utterly repulsive.
The difference between humans and animals was that humans could control their desires. But Liang Yinqiu and Shen Zhongyuan, despite being daughter-in-law and father-in-law, had crossed the line. How were they any different from beasts?
If they had been having an affair for that long, then who was Shen Pingting’s real father? Her uncle was Liang Yinqiu’s husband; there was no way he wouldn’t have noticed anything off about her. Did that mean her uncle’s death was suspicious too?
Shen Lihuan knew her father well. Even though he had returned to the Shen household and seemed to respect Shen Zhongyuan, she could tell from his expression that, aside from her uncle, he didn’t care about anyone else in the Shen family.
If her uncle had really been murdered, then her father…
That night, Shen Lihuan had trouble sleeping. She tossed and turned until past two in the morning before finally drifting off.
The next morning, she woke up feeling sluggish. You Changqing noticed and, feeling concerned, handed her a chilled water bottle, pressing it against her cheek. “Lihuan, what’s wrong? Didn’t sleep well last night?”
The cool touch on her cheek made Shen Lihuan chuckle helplessly. She took the bottle and pressed it against her face while deliberately saying, “Yeah, I couldn’t sleep at all last night.”
“You had insomnia? Why couldn’t you sleep?”
You Changqing furrowed her brows, her beautiful face filled with concern.
Shen Lihuan felt a warmth in her heart. She reached out a slender, fair index finger and beckoned You Changqing to come closer. You Changqing glanced around to make sure no one was paying attention to them before biting her lip and leaning in.
Shen Lihuan’s peach blossom eyes sparkled with amusement. She lowered her voice, making it slightly husky, and whispered in You Changqing’s ear, “Because I was thinking about you all night.”
For a moment, You Changqing’s heart pounded so fast it felt like it was about to leap out of her throat. Her wide, expressive eyes stared at Shen Lihuan in shock. “You… you…”
Seeing that she had successfully flustered her, Shen Lihuan’s smile deepened, her eyes gleaming with mischief. She arched her brow, her expression teasing and seductive.
You Changqing felt like her heart was about to explode. This woman always exuded an unconscious charm, flirting with people without even realizing it.
But after a moment, You Changqing recovered. She realized that Shen Lihuan was deliberately teasing her. Her heartbeat gradually steadied, and she felt both amused and a little aggrieved—though she wasn’t sure why she felt wronged. She pulled away, turned her head away in mock anger, and silently declared, if you don’t coax me, I won’t talk to you anymore.
Shen Lihuan: “…”
Well, since I was the one who provoked her, I have to kneel and make it up to her.
And so… Shen Lihuan put all her effort into making amends. Judging by how they were still sticking together even in chemistry class despite being assigned to different groups, she had done a pretty good job.
Originally, Shen Lihuan had been wondering how to discreetly inform her father about Liang Yinqiu and Shen Zhongyuan’s affair. But she didn’t expect the perfect opportunity to present itself right in front of her.
