    Chapter 70

During the competition, both Shen Lihuan and You Changqing won quite a few prizes. The one You Changqing liked the most was the little teddy bear that Shen Lihuan won for her.

Since they had won too many prizes to carry home, Shen Lihuan gave away the ones they didn’t need to their classmates.

After their homeroom teacher, Ye Lan, announced the end of the school day, the students cheered happily. Some of the boys gathered their friends to play a few rounds of basketball before it got dark, while some of the girls huddled together, discussing which accessories store to visit for new purchases.

You Changqing packed up her things and eagerly looked at Shen Lihuan. “Lihuan, let’s go home~”

Before Shen Lihuan could reply, Cheng Ziqian pinched his voice and mimicked Bo Wen’an exaggeratedly, “Wenan, let’s go home~”

Bo Wen’an sighed helplessly and ruffled Cheng Ziqian’s hair—was this guy asking for trouble?

You Changqing ground her molars. Cheng! Zi! Qian!

Shen Lihuan picked up a book from her desk and lightly smacked it against Cheng Ziqian’s back. “I think you’re asking for a beating. Next week at school, I’ll spar with you.” Then, she draped an arm over You Changqing’s shoulders, coaxing her not to take Cheng Ziqian’s antics seriously.

Cheng Ziqian recalled Shen Lihuan’s exceptional combat skills and immediately felt a toothache. He quickly pleaded for mercy, “Spare me, warrior! I won’t mess around anymore!”

Seeing Shen Lihuan’s amused yet unreadable expression, Cheng Ziqian hurriedly turned to You Changqing and repeated himself without even changing a word, “Spare me, warrior! I won’t mess around anymore!”

You Changqing, feeling that Lihuan had stood up for her, decided to be magnanimous and forgave Cheng Ziqian. She hugged her teddy bear in one arm and held onto Lihuan’s arm with the other as they walked out of the classroom together.

Watching them leave, Cheng Ziqian pouted and turned to Bo Wen’an for comfort. “Wenan, I’m so miserable!”

Bo Wen’an found it both amusing and exasperating. He pinched Cheng Ziqian’s waist lightly—serves you right. How could he not know that Shen Lihuan fiercely protected You Changqing?

Back at the Shen residence, You Changqing accidentally spilled tea on her white sneakers. Shen Lihuan immediately took her to her room to change shoes.

After changing, You Changqing sat on the bed in slippers, calling her mother to report once again that she and Lihuan would be going to Green manor.

Madam Yang Yingzhi had no objections, only reminding her to stay safe with Lihuan. Beside her, You Changhong puffed up his cheeks—his mean sister was going on a fun trip without taking him along.

You Changqing nodded. “Mom, don’t worry. We’ll have the bodyguards with us, and besides, Lihuan is strong. One against ten isn’t even a problem for her.”

Hearing the pride in her daughter’s voice, Madam Yang Yingzhi couldn’t help but chuckle. “Alright, alright, I know your Lihuan is amazing.”

    “Moooom~”

Feeling teased by her mother, You Changqing dragged out her voice in protest.

“Alright, I won’t tease you anymore. Just have fun.” Madam Yang Yingzhi resumed her serious tone.

“I got it. I’ll bring back some specialty products from Green manor for you, Dad, and Changhong.”

After hanging up, You Changqing got up to look for Shen Lihuan. “Lihuan, where are you?”

Hearing her, Shen Lihuan immediately poked her head out of the bathroom. “I’m in the bathroom.”

“What are you doing in there?”

As she asked, You Changqing walked over, only to see Shen Lihuan scrubbing a pair of white sneakers with a brush. Looking closely, she realized—they were hers!

The very pair she had taken off earlier after spilling tea on them.

Her face flushed slightly. “I can wash my own shoes.”

Shen Lihuan didn’t stop scrubbing, her expression calm as if it were no big deal. “So what? What’s wrong with washing my future wife’s shoes?”

You Changqing lowered her eyes, then suddenly hugged Shen Lihuan from behind, resting her head on her shoulder. “Lihuan, why are you so good to me?”

“If I’m not good to you, who else should I be good to? I still have to spoil you even more—so much that you won’t be able to leave me.”

Shen Lihuan smiled brightly, a hint of pride in her expression. You Changqing kissed her cheek. “You’ve already succeeded—I can’t leave you anymore.”

    “My honor.”

Shen Lihuan raised an eyebrow, her slightly flushed eyes reflecting her good mood. “Washing your shoes is nothing. If you want, I can even give you a bath…”

She deliberately emphasized the last two words, making it clear she was teasing.

You Changqing lifted her delicate chin and looked at her arrogantly. “That depends on your performance. If you serve me well, I might give you the chance.”

After rinsing the soap off the sneakers, Shen Lihuan placed them on the sink. Then, she turned around and pulled You Changqing into a deep kiss. When she finally let go, she saw You Changqing’s flushed face, her lips red and swollen, eyes shimmering like spring water.

“Was my service satisfactory?” Shen Lihuan asked with a smirk.

You Changqing tried to steady her breath, covered her swollen lips, and glared at her. “You ambushed me.”

“So, you’re not satisfied? Should we do it again?”

As she spoke, Shen Lihuan leaned in for another kiss. You Changqing quickly pushed against her. “Alright, alright, I’m satisfied! We’ll kiss again tonight. We still have to go down for dinner—I can’t go with swollen lips, or everyone will notice.”

Shen Lihuan flashed her pearly white teeth in a grin. “Then wait for tonight.”

You Changqing suddenly felt a chill and instinctively hugged herself. Shen Lihuan put the sneakers in the dryer and wiped her hands clean with a tissue. “All done.”

“Lihuan, I remember there’s a beach near Green manor. Should we go take a walk there?”

You Changqing leaned against her from behind and asked.

Thinking about how going to the beach meant wearing swimsuits, Shen Lihuan’s face instantly darkened. “No. If you want to swim, we can use the pool at home—I’ll swim with you.”

“Why not? The home pool is too small! It’s nothing compared to the vast ocean.”

You Changqing crossed her arms, clearly displeased.

“For one, we don’t have enough time. For another… your body is for my eyes only. No one else is allowed to see even a glance.”

Shen Lihuan narrowed her peach blossom eyes and declared domineeringly.

    “What’s that supposed to mean?”

Understanding the reason for Shen Lihuan’s opposition, You Changqing muttered inwardly, You jealous thing. But despite her thoughts, the corners of her lips couldn’t help but curl up. “Who says you have to wear a bikini to the beach? I can dress conservatively.”

“Come on, Lihuan, just say yes~”

You Changqing clung to her arm and swayed it gently. Shen Lihuan, helpless, finally relented a little. “Alright, alright, I give in. But listen, you’re not allowed to wear a bikini, and you can’t wear anything too revealing either.”

“I promise! No bikinis and no revealing swimsuits.”

    You Changqing swore solemnly.

Only then did Shen Lihuan reluctantly agree.

Just as dinner was ready, the three elders of the household returned home, and the family sat down to eat together.

Gu Tingyu had recently purchased a two-story villa nearby, but since it still needed renovations, he was continuing to stay at the Shen residence for now.

“Lihuan, your hair growth pills work wonders! My friend’s hair is already starting to grow back,” Gu Tingyu praised as he placed a piece of sweet and sour pork ribs on his little niece’s plate, his face filled with pride.

Thinking back to how his friend had almost cried from excitement, thanking and praising him non-stop like a surging river, Gu Tingyu couldn’t help but feel proud himself. He knew his niece was the best.

Speaking of the hair growth pills, Gu Qinglan also smiled. “Mom’s friend also grew her hair back. She called me last night and spent half the night praising you, saying I raised a wonderful daughter and that I’ll be blessed in the future.”

Shen Jiashu chimed in, “Thanks to your hair growth pills, Dad smoothly secured two big contracts.”

“As long as I can help you all, that’s good,” Shen Lihuan said with a smile.

“By the way, what time is your flight tomorrow with Changqing?”

Gu Qinglan suddenly remembered that her daughter and Changqing were flying to Lvzhuang for a trip and asked.

    “Nine in the morning.”

“That’s perfect. You can have breakfast before heading to the airport.”

Gu Qinglan nodded and reminded them, “Make sure you bring everything you need, and be careful over there. Don’t go out alone—stick with the bodyguards.”

“Got it, we’ll remember,” Shen Lihuan and You Changqing responded in unison, making Gu Qinglan finally relax and smile.

Later, Shen Lihuan mentioned giving You Changqing a bath. You Changqing weakly refused at first, but when Shen Lihuan insisted, she shamefully agreed.

What happened next is beyond words. In the end, when You Changqing stepped out of the bathroom, her cheeks were puffed with frustration. This Lihuan… she has absolutely no sense of romance! A stunning beauty was right in front of her, and she actually just focused on bathing me seriously! How could she hold back?!

What she didn’t know was that after she left the bathroom, the ever-serious Shen Lihuan’s ears secretly turned red. Who said I have no sense of romance? It’s just that the situation didn’t allow for anything else, okay? I was suffering just as much as you!

You Changqing was furious, and Shen Lihuan couldn’t coax her no matter what. Left with no choice, she brought over a keyboard.

You Changqing glared at her. “What are you doing with that?”

“My wife is angry, so I’m kneeling on the keyboard.”

Shen Lihuan looked at her pitifully, tugged her own ear, and knelt on the keyboard, looking completely aggrieved.

You Changqing was so amused by her antics that she burst into laughter. “Fine, you’re punished to kneel for two minutes.”

Shen Lihuan obediently lowered her head and knelt on the keyboard. But in the end, You Changqing couldn’t bear to make her kneel that long, so she pulled her up, her anger mostly dissipated. “Alright, I’ll let it go this time. But if you make me mad again, I’ll make you kneel on a durian.”

She escalated the threat, but Shen Lihuan just chuckled. “I knew my wife couldn’t bear to punish me too harshly.”

“Hmph.” Seeing how happy she was, You Changqing’s little temper flared up again. Shen Lihuan quickly pulled her into her arms and coaxed her, “I really had no choice. You know we still have a year before we’re legally adults. Until then, we can’t do anything too… intense. Otherwise, if I pounced on you now, would we even be able to wait until today?”

You Changqing bumped her head against Shen Lihuan’s shoulder. “Still so long to wait…”

    “It’ll be here soon, soon.”

Shen Lihuan comforted her, gently stroking her back.

You Changqing pouted and flopped onto the bed. Then, like a little caterpillar, she wriggled under the blanket and pretended to be dead.

Shen Lihuan couldn’t help but laugh and pulled her back out. “Changqing, don’t sleep yet. Your hair isn’t dry.”

You Changqing let herself be scooped out of the blanket and slumped lifelessly in Shen Lihuan’s arms as her hair was dried. “I’m already a dead fish.”

Shen Lihuan laughed. “If you’re a dead fish, then what am I? Also a dead fish?”

“No.” You Changqing muttered with deep grievance. “You’re not a fish. You’re Liu Xiahui.”

“Hahaha!” Shen Lihuan burst into laughter.
