Chapter 155: Pulling Out One That Tops the Two of You

Jiang Ning had known for a long time.

Some things don’t change just because you’re reborn.

    Like school celebrities.

There are only a few types of people who become famous at school.

    First, the top students.

Each class has a few, and their names are known throughout the school.

Like Tang Bo from Class 1, Hu Zerui from Class 2, and so on.

These academic stars gain their fame through rankings and teacher praise.

Naturally, they build a reputation among their peers.

The second type: those with a special skill.

For example, Song Lin from Class 4, a sprinter. Chen Jinghe from Class 6, who won first place in the school singing competition.

And their own class’s dancing fairy, Qi Wen.

Each of these students has a unique skill.

Whenever a topic related to their skill comes up, they’re the first to be mentioned.

The third type: the “vase” type.

Of course, they’re not just pretty faces.

But often, just one look at them is enough to make a deep impression across the grade—or even the whole school.

Even someone like Jiang Ning, who ranked second in her class and top 30 in the school—

The first thing people think of is still her face and figure, not her grades.

    The last type:

    People like Luo Chengming.

With a strong family background, seemingly bold personality, a wide social circle, and knowing a lot of people.

He could chat with teachers and have influence at school.

    In a way,

Students like him had their hands in everything—both light and dark.

    But usually,

Whenever something big or outrageous happened at school, these types were always involved.

Jiang Ning had been busy with her store and factory business, so she hadn’t paid much attention to this guy.

At most, she’d heard a few small things about him from Sun Qian, the school gossip queen.

Like how he treated the whole class to snacks during P.E.

Or that a girl had written him a love letter.

All those things were just passing mentions.

    But—

What Jiang Ning never expected was—

That Luo Chengming had actually clashed with Hu Gugu.

    Yes.

When Miss Jiang arrived at the field and saw the chubby round figure in the noisy crowd,

Her first reaction was: “What the hell, no way.”

Then, hearing the onlookers talk, she finally understood the backstory.

Luo Chengming had been chasing after Yao Yao.

Yao Yao rejected him, but he refused to give up.

This prompted her good friend Hu Gugu to step in and warn him.

Maybe he even gave him a friendly lesson.

And after some back-and-forth, it escalated into this late-night after-study showdown.

    From Jiang Ning’s perspective,

The current standoff didn’t look too good for Hu Gugu’s side.

He only had about four or five people with him.

But the freshmen on Luo Chengming’s side had at least seven, eight, maybe nine.

    Clearly—

    They were outnumbered.

Spectator Jiang Xiaoning couldn’t bear to see her buddy being bullied.

Just as the two sides were getting heated in their argument,

She broke free from Luo Shanshan’s arm and walked straight into the center of the confrontation.

    “Jiang Ning!”

    Luo Shanshan called out.

    In an instant,

Both sides fell into a brief silence.

    For a moment,

Almost everyone’s eyes were drawn to this stunning beauty who appeared out of nowhere.

    Jiang Ning.

    The “Jiang Seductress.”

That name, that figure, that face—

Not only was she famous among the freshmen,

Even a few sophomore seniors who had shown up knew a bit about her.

After all, anyone helping Hu Gugu was probably close with Li Mingwei.

And they knew a thing or two about Li Mingwei.

How a few months ago, he nearly had a falling-out with his family—because of her.

    “Jiang Ning!”

Qi Wen appeared out of nowhere, grabbed Jiang Ning’s hand, and tried to pull her back.

    “What are you doing!”

    “Why did you come here!”

Hearing the concern in Qi Wen’s voice, Jiang Ning gently patted her hand.

“I saw a friend. Just saying a few words.”

She tried to let go, but Qi Wen wouldn’t release her—gripping her tightly.

    Fine then.

Jiang Ning was a delicate girl herself—no strength to drag another girl away.

    She had no choice.

So she waved to Hu Gugu.

    “Gugu, come here a sec.”

But unexpectedly, just as she finished speaking, a voice called out from Luo Chengming’s side.

    “Jiang Seductress.”

“This isn’t a place for women.”

    “Better leave now!”

Hearing this, Jiang Ning suddenly smiled.

She turned to face the group of freshmen boys.

    “What a joke.”

    “What?”

“You wrote your names on the field or something?”

    With that—

Anyone with a brain knew she was siding with the sophomores.

    Instantly,

The freshmen looked at each other in confusion.

    Isn’t she a freshman too?

Why is she standing with the sophomores?

    Just then,

Hu Gugu rolled over like a ball and stopped in front of Jiang Ning.

“Hero, what are you doing here?”

“It’s not safe here—maybe you should go?”

“Go, my ass!” Jiang Ning rolled her eyes.

“With what I know of Yao Yao, she’s definitely bringing a teacher this way right now.”

“And with how loud you guys are, on school grounds no less—no one’s getting in a real fight.”

    She finished.

Seeing Hu Gugu’s dumbfounded face, Jiang Ning glanced at a few of the senior students nearby and frowned.

    “Where’s Li Mingwei?”

“If that brat’s hiding like a turtle, I’ll look down on him for the rest of my life.”

“He wanted to come, but others held him back,” Hu Gugu quickly explained.

After all, he and the others knew exactly what Li Mingwei felt.

If this little misunderstanding ruined his image in the heart of this beauty—

He wouldn’t know how to explain it to him later.

    Hearing this,

    Jiang Ning nodded.

Then she looked back at Qi Wen, who still looked nervous.

She beckoned Hu Gugu closer and whispered so only they could hear:

“Let it go tonight. Tomorrow, you find out that brat’s daily routine.”

“Then catch him alone sometime, bag over the head, and beat the crap out of him.”

    Hu Gugu was stunned.

He thought Jiang Ning was here to stop them from fighting—but instead…

    Right now,

Jiang Ning figured Hu Gugu was worried.

She chuckled and patted his shoulder.

    “Relax.”

“I can’t help with much else—but I’ll cover the money.”

“Whether it’s hush money, medical costs, or getaway cash—”

    “I got it!”

    ——————

And just as Jiang Ning predicted.

No sooner had she finished speaking—

A teacher’s shout rang out in the distance.

    “What are you all doing!”

    Then—

    Everyone scattered like flies.

    Seeing this,

Jiang Ning took Qi Wen’s hand.

Blended into the crowd, and strolled leisurely toward the school gate.

    As they walked—

    Qi Wen suddenly muttered,

    “Jiang Jiang!”

“Do you know how dangerous that was just now!”

“What if they really started fighting!”

    “What would we do!”

“They wouldn’t dare fight,” Jiang Ning replied with absolute certainty.

    But Qi Wen wasn’t convinced.

Still tugging on Jiang Ning’s arm, her tone was deadly serious.

“What if they did start fighting!”

    “They won’t fight!”

    “What if they really do?”

    “They still won’t!”

    “But…”

Seeing that little Qi was about to keep mumbling, Jiang turned around and stared straight into her eyes with clear, unwavering eyes.

    “Do you trust me?”

    “I…”

Under the pale yellow lights at the bustling school gate, Qi Wen blushed furiously and stammered softly.

    “I do.”

Hearing that, Jiang smiled brightly and reached out to rub her face.

“Hmm, your face feels a bit hot.”

“It does not!” Qi Wen cried out shyly, swatting her hand away.

    Then she pouted.

“Don’t do that again next time, okay?”

    “You’re like a boy.”

    A boy?

At that, Jiang raised an eyebrow.

Pointing to her chest, she said,

“Wenwen, do you believe that if I pulled these out, one could beat both of yours?”
