Stealing ML’s White Moonlight C16
by MarineTLChapter 16
Shen Lihuan, who was in a waiting state, immediately brightened up upon hearing the shouting. Her peach blossom eyes lit up as if a dim yellow table lamp had suddenly been powered on, shining intensely. She quickly opened her room door, stepped out, and headed straight for Liang Yinqiu’s room.
The Shen residence covered a vast area. The second floor was where the Shen family members lived. Shen Lihuan’s room was on the right side. A few meters to the left after stepping out was Staircase One. Walking past Staircase One and crossing an arched balcony led to Staircase Two. To the left of Staircase Two was where Shen Zhongyuan and Liang Yinqiu’s room was located.
To make herself appear as if she had been woken up from sleep, she had deliberately changed into a lake-blue pajama set early, rolled around in bed a few times to create wrinkles in her clothes, and tousled her hair into an artful mess.
As she made her way, she encountered Shen Jiashu, who had rushed upstairs after hearing the commotion.
Shen Lihuan squinted her peach blossom eyes slightly. How ironic—when you plant flowers intentionally, they refuse to bloom; yet when you don’t, willows grow into shade. Tonight’s action was more fitting with her father involved.
“Dad, did you hear Grandpa’s shouting too? Could something have happened to him?”
To take the initiative and appear innocent, Shen Lihuan slowed her pace, moved closer to her father, and asked with concern, perfectly acting the role of a worried and caring granddaughter.
Shen Jiashu did not suspect his daughter. He tugged at his collar and walked alongside her, following the direction of the noise. “Let’s hope nothing happened. Your grandfather is already so old.”
Though he deeply suspected that his father and sister-in-law were having an affair and wished he could personally punish them for it, until the truth was confirmed, he preferred that nothing happened to his father.
Shen Lihuan pursed her lips slightly. Getting older hadn’t stopped him at all—sleeping with his daughter-in-law as naturally as he did with his own women.
She held disdain in her heart but still followed her father’s words, saying, “Exactly. Grandpa is already seventy years old. If anything happens, it will be a huge problem.” Yes, seventy years old, yet still unable to control himself. Truly impressive.
Shen Jiashu, unaware of his daughter’s inner ridicule, was puzzled by why his father’s voice had come from his sister-in-law’s room. As his suspicions deepened, his handsome face turned grim.
At that moment, the snake reacted.
Looking at the spot where it had bitten, the snake did not feel guilty, nor did it pity Shen Zhongyuan. Instead, it pitied itself! It immediately withdrew its fangs and spat repeatedly in disgust. Oh, heavens! Pity this pure and innocent snake—it had been violated! What would it do now? How could it ever find a mate in the future? Boohoo…
A man’s lower body was his weakest spot. Even though Shen Zhongyuan was already as dried-up as preserved vegetables, he couldn’t endure the pain. He clutched his swollen manhood, his facial features twisting in agony as he curled up on the floor like a shriveled shrimp.
Liang Yinqiu was first horrified at the scene, gasping in shock. Her legs nearly gave out, terrified that the snake would bite her next. When she calmed down and saw the snake flicking its tongue in disgust—clearly repulsed by biting Shen Zhongyuan—she suddenly burst into laughter. “Serves you right! Even a snake despises you!”
The next second, she collapsed to the floor, her breath heavy as if she were on the verge of death, tears streaming down uncontrollably. Shen Zhongyuan’s shouting had been so loud that the whole family would surely be drawn here. If that happened, she would be utterly doomed.
She had heard of Shen Jiashu’s methods. If he discovered that his sister-in-law had been cheating on his older brother, even if she didn’t die, she wouldn’t have a good ending.
She couldn’t just sit and wait for disaster to strike. She wiped away her tears, took a deep breath to calm herself.
The door was locked. No one could enter. As long as she and Shen Zhongyuan quickly dressed and weren’t caught in bed together, she could come up with an excuse.
Supporting her weak body, Liang Yinqiu stood up and lowly commanded, “Stop making noise! Do you want to draw everyone here? Endure the pain and get dressed. When they come, say you heard me scream and rushed in to check. Who would’ve thought you’d get bitten while trying to protect me?”
Her alibi was flawless. She was a woman, so it was normal for her to be afraid of snakes. As long as they were properly dressed, no one would think otherwise.
Shen Zhongyuan also realized this and, despite the pain, gritted his teeth and attempted to get up to dress. However, the snake wouldn’t allow it. It swiftly coiled around them, whipping them excitedly with its tail.
Faced with the consequences of being caught in an affair with her father-in-law, Liang Yinqiu was no longer afraid of the snake. She staggered, grabbed the bedside lamp, and swung it at the snake. It was struck on the tail, hissing in pain.
Oh heavens, this woman was terrifying! How could she try to kill such a cute snake?
No, it had a mission to complete tonight. It couldn’t die here. It was still a virgin snake! Boohoo…
Just then, a knock on the door suddenly sounded.
Bang! Bang!
“Dad, what’s going on? What happened?”
It was Shen Jiashu’s voice!
Liang Yinqiu’s trembling hands loosened their grip, and with a loud crash, the bedside lamp shattered on the floor.
Hearing the crash, Shen Jiashu grew even more anxious. He pounded on the door repeatedly. “Dad! Sister-in-law! Open the door! What’s going on?”
The snake, remembering its master’s instructions, quickly slithered to the door, wrapped its injured tail around the doorknob, and twisted it open.
Liang Yinqiu instinctively shut her eyes. “No!”
The door swung open.
Shen Zhongyuan’s face turned ashen.
—
Not to mention how shocked and furious Shen Jiashu and Shen Lihuan were—after a chaotic scene, Liang Yinqiu, now fully dressed, sat on the living room sofa, pale-faced and crying. Shen Zhongyuan had also dressed and was being treated by a family doctor, who had been urgently called to attend to his miserable lower body.
Gu Qinglan and Shen Pingting had also woken up. The entire Shen household was now alert. The servants, though unaware of the exact events, had been instructed to stay in their rooms, not daring to step out.
Gu Qinglan sat beside Shen Jiashu, holding his hand tightly, looking at him with concern.
Shen Pingting, terrified by the cold and eerie atmosphere, sat beside Liang Yinqiu, not daring to breathe too loudly.
Shen Lihuan noticed the bloodshot eyes of her father, hesitated for a moment, and poured him a cup of tea. “Dad, have some tea to calm down. Don’t punish yourself for other people’s mistakes.”
Shen Jiashu glanced at the tea, then at Gu Qinglan. She patted his hand reassuringly. “Your daughter cares for you. Drink some tea and don’t bottle up your emotions. You might harm yourself.”
When Shen Jiashu saw his father and sister-in-law naked together, he had wanted to strangle them both.
His father and sister-in-law—his elder brother’s closest people—had betrayed him in the most disgraceful way. What place did that leave for his brother? Did they even understand morality?
They were no better than beasts.
Shen Jiashu took a sip of tea, a cruel smile forming on his lips. Fine. If they had no regard for his brother, then he wouldn’t show them mercy either. The debt from years ago—his father threatening him into marriage—it was time to settle it!
