Chapter 175: The Bootlicking Immortal Lord Who Wants to Live Off a Woman.41

All eyes turned to Su Mingyue, making her shrink back in fear.

Shen Xiuyan stepped forward in a flash, placing himself in front of her to shield her from those scorching gazes.

Chu Suxing let out a breath of relief when he saw it was their Little Junior Sister.

“Oh, it’s you, Junior Sister. We found a scroll in here—turns out there’s a hidden third floor in this room. There’s a trial up there set by an ancient powerhouse. Whoever passes it will inherit everything the master of this Secret Realm left behind.”

“Hiss—” Su Mingyue drew in a sharp breath. An ancient inheritance? No wonder both sides were at a standoff.

Lin Qifan said, “We were clearly here first. What’s this got to do with you? If anyone’s going, it should be us. Trying to cut in like this is pretty shameless.”

Chu Suxing’s lips curved into a thin smile. “Talking about first come, first served in a Secret Realm? You’re too naïve. Since we discovered it too, we should all take the trial together.”

    “Yeah, let strength decide.”

“Everyone here got into the Secret Realm. Why should finding it first mean it’s all yours?”

Lin Qifan’s face darkened. The tension was rising fast—one spark and a fight would break out.

Seeing this, Chu Suxing tried to pull Su Mingyue to his side. With her, they’d have the numbers and wouldn’t need to fear a fight.

“Little Junior Sister, don’t you think I’m right? Since this opportunity showed up for all of us, we should go in together and let our abilities speak for themselves. Why don’t you and your group join too?”

“Haha, you guys go ahead and work it out. I’ll pass. I’m not that strong,” Su Mingyue laughed awkwardly, clearly not wanting to get involved.

She knew her limits. Just exploring this Secret Realm took all her caution—taking part in a trial? Was she crazy?

She might make it in, but she’d never make it out. Her sweet romance had just begun—she wasn’t about to throw that away.

Chu Suxing frowned. He hadn’t expected Little Junior Sister to be so unmoved, even by an ancient inheritance.

Lin Qifan sneered and clapped. “Look at your Junior Sister—she’s more sensible than you. You should learn from her. My advice? Be smart and leave while you can.”

Mei Lan frowned and stepped forward. “We’re not leaving. What are you going to do about it?”

The air between the two groups crackled with tension, sparks practically flying as if just waiting for someone to make the first move.

“Senior Sister! I finally found you!”

    An excited voice rang out.

Su Mingyue suddenly felt a weight crash into her. Looking down, she saw Ning Cui clinging to her.

Su Mingyue beamed. “Cui Cui, you and Junior Brother didn’t get hurt, did you?”

Ning Cui shook her head. “Nope, just tired from all the walking. Didn’t run into anything.”

    “That’s good.”

Wang Gang walked over to Shen Xiuyan with an apologetic smile. “Sorry, Little Junior Brother. I really couldn’t stop Ning Cui.”

Shen Xiuyan shook his head. “It’s fine. Let’s stick together from now on.”

Wang Gang felt like there was more to that sentence. He leaned in and whispered, “Stick together? Wait, did you confess?”

Shen Xiuyan smiled and nodded. “I did. Thanks to you, actually.”

Wang Gang couldn’t help clapping like a seal.

Pleased with himself, he shot a glance at Ning Cui, then leaned over and whispered in her ear, “Ning Cui, did you see? Senior Sister Mingyue clearly likes Little Junior Brother more. She’s already agreed to be with him.”

His tone was so smug, you’d think Su Mingyue had agreed to be with him.

    Ning Cui: “!!!”

“What?!” She stared at Su Mingyue in disbelief. “Senior Sister, is that true? Are you out of your mind?!”

Su Mingyue nodded shyly. “Cui Cui, you’ll congratulate me, right?”

    Ning Cui: “……”

Wuwuwu… If even her beloved Senior Sister said so, what could a junior like her say? Of course she had to offer her congratulations.

After all, Senior Sister’s happiness was what mattered most.

Who would’ve thought—Senior Sister actually said yes to Little Junior Brother.

Her gaze turned complicated. A disciple with no background, nothing special—oh wait, aside from that face, he was completely ordinary—had somehow managed to cling to Senior Sister’s thigh.

He’d just skipped hundreds of years of struggle in one go.

Hmph. That Little Junior Brother sure had a scheming little mind.

    Ancestral Master, I’ve failed you.

Ning Cui mourned for the Ancestral Master in her heart for a second… then quickly pulled herself together.

No matter how great the Ancestral Master was, he was still a step too late. Senior Sister clearly liked Little Junior Brother more. All she could do now was offer her blessing.

With that mindset shift, Ning Cui forced a smile and said, “Then congratulations, Senior Sister.”

“Thanks, Junior Sister.” Su Mingyue patted her fluffy head.

“Senior Sister, I’ve been meaning to ask—what’s going on over there?” Ning Cui tilted her chin toward Chu Suxing’s group.

Su Mingyue patiently explained the situation. “You thinking of joining the fun?”

Ning Cui shook her head. “Forget it. With my level? Dreaming of ancient inheritance? I’d probably get trapped in the formation and never come out.”

“Exactly my thoughts. Shall we go?”

    “Sure, let’s go.”

Just as they were about to leave, a commotion could be heard from outside.

Chu Suxing and Lin Qifan’s groups glanced out and frowned in unison.

    More people were arriving.

If they came in and saw this standoff, it’d be hard to explain. The more people who found out about the inheritance, the slimmer their chances of obtaining it.

The two exchanged a look and immediately reached an agreement.

“Let’s go upstairs—don’t let anyone see us.”

    “Quick, move!”

Su Mingyue and her group didn’t want to go, but were pushed along anyway—as if the others were afraid they’d spill the secret if they left.

From the outside, the building didn’t appear to have a third floor. But following the directions in the scroll, after some twists and turns, they actually found the entrance.

There was a visible fluctuation at the entrance to the third floor.

No doubt—this was the trial site.

After exchanging glances, Chu Suxing said, “Then let’s rely on our own abilities from here on.”

Lin Qifan snorted coldly. “This is all your fault for refusing to leave. Now that more people are coming, we’re out of options. You really played your cards well.”

“Let’s go. I’ll count to three—we all go in together. No one gets an advantage from the timing.”

    “Fine.”

Su Mingyue timidly raised her hand. “We’re not planning to go in. Can we leave now?”

Lin Qifan frowned. “No. Stay here. Until the people outside are gone, you’re not allowed to move.”

“Alright,” Su Mingyue replied good-naturedly, not seeming to mind.

    Just then, something unexpected happened.

Ruan Xi’er suddenly came running out of nowhere and shouted loudly toward the outside, “An ancient inheritance has been discovered here!”
