    Evil Consequences

Sun Ning was an experienced person. Her plan was to first unite with the other victimized teachers and report Teacher Zhao, to the police.

There were three teachers still working at this school; the remaining ones either couldn’t withstand the pressure and left the teaching staff, or transferred to other schools.

    Finding them was difficult.

She planned to first unite with the teachers at her own school.

She took the time to organize everyone’s situation into a table and then began to approach them, one by one, for a conversation.

The first person she chose was the easiest to talk to, the oldest teacher with the best temperament. She explained the situation.

The other person’s expression was familiar to her—an expression of confusion as though someone had suddenly punched her in the face. After a while, she finally digested what had happened. She tried to speak several times but seemed unable to find the right words.

    Sun Ning patiently waited.

Finally, the other person said, “But there’s no evidence for this, and at that time, I was indeed too emotional. I shouldn’t have scolded that child…”

“Think back, wasn’t it Zhao Teacher who kept provoking you and the students? Didn’t he fan the flames every time you became agitated?”

“Well… I can’t say it was exactly like that.”

“We can file a joint report with the police and let them investigate.”

“I understand what you’re thinking, but we both know it’s been so long. Where would we find evidence? Besides, Zhao Teacher only instigated verbally, and this kind of situation can’t really be held accountable.”

For these teachers, they had already borne the full brunt of the consequences this situation had brought. Their lives had already returned to normal.

If this were to be brought up again, they wouldn’t necessarily get justice, but they would definitely disrupt the peaceful life they had now.

No one wanted to return to that state.

This wasn’t what Sun Ning had imagined.

She had originally thought that as long as she revealed the matter and everyone united, even if the police couldn’t convict Teacher Zhao, they could at least pressure the school to take action against him and prevent further incidents.

She went to speak with a few more people, but the results were the same.

None of them were young teachers. They all had families, with elderly parents to care for and children to raise. For them, stability was the most important thing.

They had already gone through a painful healing process.

Bringing it up again would tear open old wounds, and without concrete evidence, everyone’s thoughts were the same—better not to cause more trouble.

Sun Ning felt somewhat defeated. Her plan had essentially failed.

“Teacher?” When Li Xun arrived, she happened to see Sun Ning frowning deeply.

Pingcheng High School had a day off for the weekend. Sun Ning had told Li Xun to come over to her place for learning and meals that day.

On the one hand, it was to prevent Teacher Zhao from causing trouble for Li Xun, and on the other hand, it was because Sun Ning feared Li Xun would be upset at home, thinking about her mother.

“You haven’t eaten yet, right? I bought grapes. You can eat some, and then we’ll have dumplings for lunch, okay?” Sun Ning took the grapes from the fridge.

“I’m fine with anything,” Li Xun said, setting down her schoolbag and naturally looking at the mind map on the blackboard.

Sun Ning brought over the grapes and noticed Li Xun was looking at them. She said, “The original plan might have to be delayed. I haven’t found more teammates. Their situations are quite special, so they might not be suitable to join us.”

Sun Ning was a gentle person by nature, and she felt that forcing others to open old wounds wasn’t humane. Besides, the teachers’ concerns were reasonable.

“But isn’t this still in progress?” Li Xun ate two grapes.

The grapes were really sweet. Her mother had once bought these same grapes and said they made one smarter.

    Her mother rarely bought fruit.

She wondered if fruits were available in the detention center.

During her time in detention, her family couldn’t visit her. Li Xun was preparing to hire a good lawyer for her mother, both to ensure her rights were fully protected and to have someone check in on her.

While thinking about her mother, Li Xun listened to Sun Ning explain everything.

Sun Ning summarized, “They’re all unwilling to cooperate, and I can’t force them. I’m thinking of other ways. There will be a way.”

She wouldn’t give up. She was determined to achieve her goal.

“At this stage, you just need to tell them everything. Don’t force them to do anything.”

“Don’t worry, Teacher. I’ll think of a way.”

“What were you originally planning to do?” After eating two grapes, Li Xun couldn’t eat any more, so she decided to help the naive Sun Ning.

Sun Ning replied, “Unite with them and go to the principal together to put pressure on him, demanding the school take action against Teacher Zhao and prevent him from contacting students in the future.”

A simple and pragmatic teacher, Sun Ning.

Li Xun said, “It’s very difficult, and not worth it. We don’t have solid evidence regarding the student suicide incident, and now Teacher Zhao is the center of public attention. If we get involved with him, the teachers will also be scrutinized.”

“Then our plan has to be delayed, right?” Sun Ning, being a teacher, was unfamiliar with such matters.

“Tell me, I feel like you might have a better solution. Don’t hide anything from me at times like this. I want to know whatever ideas you have, no matter what.”

Perhaps because she had experienced serious psychological trauma in the past, it had left her without the arrogance or high dignity of a middle-aged person. She was very willing to listen to Li Xun’s perspective.

Sun Ning felt that Li Xun possessed something she had never seen before. Although she appeared to be a high school student, there was an incredible capability hidden within her.

Li Xun rarely explained her actions to others, but she needed to divide her attention now, so she explained, “With anything, I have a final desired result. If I set a plan and want to push it forward, the development of this matter has to be constrained by my ability. If my opponent still acts unscrupulously, sometimes I also have to be limited by my moral sense and conscience. There’s a high probability that I won’t be able to defeat them.” Li Xun explained.

When she gave examples, she used “I,” but Sun Ning immediately understood.

“The best way is to hand the issue over and attract thousands or even millions of people into it. One person might not be enough, but among a group, there will definitely be someone who has a solution you can’t even imagine.” Li Xun explained.

“For example, if you try to unite the teachers against Teacher Zhao, your unity will limit the other people’s involvement in the event. They’ll need to spend part of their energy fighting against your ideas.”

Sun Ning felt as if her brain had been struck. She understood the logic, but then she thought, “But how do we control the direction? What if something goes wrong?”

Li Xun answered, “Observe and adjust. Teacher, you’ve already told them everything. For now, just wait.”

No one could truly be indifferent. As for what they would do, and how, it didn’t matter. What mattered was that they would strike another blow to Teacher Zhao’s life.

Li Xun comforted her, “I can’t promise anything about the others, but as for Teacher Zhao’s evil deeds from the first half of his life, all we need to do is water the seeds at the right time.”

Sun Ning looked at Li Xun’s head, wondering what was going on inside.
