Chapter 141: The Bootlicking Immortal Lord Who Wants to Live Off a Woman (Part 7)

Her expression unconsciously softened. “Are you feeling really hungry?”

Shen Xiuyan gave a small nod.

Su Mingyue waved him over. “Come with me.”

“Okay.” Shen Xiuyan obediently followed behind her.

As they passed by Wang Gang, Shen Xiuyan clearly caught the envy in his eyes.

Even though he knew this guy only ever thought about food, the way he was looking at Mingyue still made Shen Xiuyan a little jealous.

Tch. That’s his wife. Don’t even think about it.

Suddenly, Wang Gang felt a chill run down his spine, like a venomous snake had locked onto him. He shivered and hugged his arms, then noticed Shen Xiuyan staring at him with a strange look.

Wang Gang was completely baffled. Wasn’t this little junior brother all soft and cute just a moment ago? Why the sudden change?

    What did he do wrong?

Su Mingyue led Shen Xiuyan straight to the small kitchen on Biluo Peak.

Given Su Mingyue’s current cultivation level, she hadn’t yet reached the stage where she could go without food. Normally, she should be eating at the designated Inner Sect dining hall like everyone else.

But Elder Su lacked for nothing—especially not money—and he doted on his daughter like she was his very life. There was no way he’d let his precious girl suffer by eating with the rest of the disciples.

After all, the sect wasn’t exactly rolling in wealth. The free meals weren’t anything to write home about.

Sure, the Inner Sect was better off than the Outer Sect, but how much better could it really be? In Elder Su’s eyes, just the act of queuing for food was already an injustice to his daughter.

So, he had this private kitchen built for her.

Not only did he hire a team of dedicated chefs, but rare and exotic ingredients were delivered daily like a flowing stream. The entire sect looked on with envy.

While everyone grumbled that Elder Su wasn’t acting like a proper cultivator, they couldn’t help but be jealous of the lifestyle on Biluo Peak. Hypocrisy at its finest.

No wonder the female lead would feel jealous.

As soon as Su Mingyue stepped into the kitchen, the staff inside were startled and cried out, “Miss, what brings you here? If you want something to eat, just say the word!”

Su Mingyue shook her head. “No need. What food is ready right now? Pack it all up—I’m taking it with me.”

The servants didn’t dare hesitate and quickly filled a food box to the brim.

Seeing this, Su Mingyue grabbed the box with one hand and took Shen Xiuyan’s hand with the other, leading him out.

Shen Xiuyan stared blankly at their intertwined hands, his whole body feeling lightheaded.

This is moving way too fast!

    Exciting!

Soon, the two arrived at a small courtyard. Su Mingyue laid out the food and said, “Come on, eat up.”

Before Shen Xiuyan could even react, she had already stuffed a pastry into his hand.

Seeing her dazed little junior brother, Su Mingyue assumed he’d never had such good food before and quickly said, “Go ahead and eat. Don’t worry, I’ve got plenty more.”

Shen Xiuyan sighed inwardly. As expected of his beautiful and kind-hearted wife—no wonder everyone liked her.

Su Mingyue watched as her junior brother nibbled delicately, like a little kitten. He looked even more adorable.

How could someone be this cute even while eating?

    Ugh~

She was sure of it now—this was the feeling of falling in love.

She liked him. She wanted him.

Su Mingyue shook her head and scolded herself inwardly.

What are you thinking, Su Mingyue? How can you have such wicked thoughts about a newly admitted junior brother?

What would he think of you if he found out?

Meanwhile, Shen Xiuyan was eating while keeping an eye on Su Mingyue. He had a lovestruck smile on his face. As expected of his wife—even the way she shook her head was adorable.

You really had to marvel at the power of fate. This wasn’t just a case of beauty in the eye of the beholder—this was a full-blown, mutual delusion.

After Shen Xiuyan had eaten a few pastries and stopped, Su Mingyue tilted her head and asked, “By the way, I still don’t know your name, junior brother.”

Shen Xiuyan replied sweetly, “Senior Sister, my name is Shen Xiu.”

“Shen Xiu?” Su Mingyue blinked. “That’s just one character off from the Ancestral Master. With such a unique name, I should’ve heard of you before. Why haven’t I seen you around?”

Shen Xiuyan scratched his head sheepishly. “I just joined the sect recently.”

Su Mingyue didn’t think much of it. Although it wasn’t recruitment season, the elders of the Thirty-Two Peaks often brought back promising talents from their travels. She figured Shen Xiuyan must’ve joined that way.

Su Mingyue smiled and said, “I’m Su Mingyue, your senior sister. You can call me Senior Sister Su.”

Shen Xiuyan blinked his eyes innocently and shamelessly said, “Senior Sister Su.”

“Good boy.” Su Mingyue felt a wave of satisfaction rise in her chest. She patted her chest and promised, “If you’re ever hungry, just come to me. I’ve got plenty of food to spare.”

“Really?” Shen Xiuyan’s eyes lit up. What a deal!

That meant he could see Mingyue whenever he wanted?

He might even get close enough to win her heart.

Even though he was dying to say yes, he still had to act a little reserved. He glanced at Su Mingyue with a bashful look. “I wouldn’t want to trouble you, Senior Sister.”

Su Mingyue looked at the boy’s little expression and felt her protective instincts explode. “It’s no trouble at all. Come anytime.”

“Thank you, Senior Sister.” Shen Xiuyan was thoroughly pleased.

He flashed her a bright smile, revealing a pair of adorable tiger teeth. It was like a peacock fanning its tail—pure charm. Anyone else would’ve rolled their eyes at the display.

But Su Mingyue? She was completely taken in. Clutching her chest, she cried out inwardly—she couldn’t take it! How could her junior brother be this sweet? He was hitting her right in the heart.

Overwhelmed by his smile, she impulsively pulled a Communication Talisman from her Hundred Treasures Pouch and said, “Here, take this. It’ll make it easier for us to keep in touch.”

But the moment she handed it over, she regretted it. They’d only just met, and she was already giving her heart away. Was this really okay?

Shen Xiuyan didn’t give her a chance to second-guess. He quickly took it and nodded earnestly. “Thank you, Senior Sister. You’re the best.”

Looking at how much her junior brother treasured the talisman, Su Mingyue’s wavering resolve vanished in an instant.

She almost gave herself a thumbs-up. To earn a smile like that from such a beauty—totally worth it!

If this was the kind of eye candy she could enjoy, then losing her head every now and then didn’t seem so bad.

Su Mingyue was feeling quite pleased with herself.

Just then, a voice called out nearby. “Junior Sister Su, what are you doing here? Didn’t you go to the cultivation chamber today?”

Shen Xiuyan looked up and saw a mild-mannered young man.

He was handsome and carried himself with grace, his smile warm and gentle. A picture-perfect young cultivator.

But for some reason, Shen Xiuyan immediately disliked him.

    The guy just seemed… fake.
