Chapter 125: Braving the Path to First Place

The Gu Cheng and Wang Zhiyu team!

They caught a total of nine balls.

Soon, the second round of participants took the field.

The teams participating in the second round were: the Su Zhixing and Xiao Hui team, the Song Li and Zhou Yang team, and the Su Tao and Yuan Yuan team.

After the competition, the first place within the group went to the Su Tao and Yuan Yuan team.

The reason their duo was able to win was entirely due to Yuan Yuan’s quick reactions while catching the balls.

She managed, through sheer individual effort, to scoop at least three balls into the basket that were clearly off-target.

Their group caught a total of ten balls.

The third group of competing teams consisted of: the Song Zhao and Wu Gang team, the Liu Miaomiao and Liu Yu team, and the Li Xiang and Su Chao team.

Compared to the first two groups, the people in the third group seemed to have activated a cheat code.

The Song Zhao and Wu Gang team and the Li Xiang and Su Chao team both made thirteen shots, while the Liu Miaomiao and Liu Yu team made fifteen.

After the first round of the competition ended, everyone noticed a very obvious pattern.

Liu Miaomiao had incredible accuracy when throwing things.

Whether it was her archery at the amusement park earlier, the basketball shooting in the previous match, or the You Throw, I Catch game in this match, her performance had remained exceptionally stable.

It could even be described as astonishing.

Once the first event concluded, Lu Qingqiang presented the prizes to the first-round winners on the spot.

The prize was a children’s smartwatch, provided through the friendship of Feng Xiao.

The people who received the prizes were extremely happy.

Liu Miaomiao, in particular, couldn’t put the children’s smartwatch down, looking it over from every angle.

As for the others who didn’t win, they were incredibly envious after seeing the brand-new, fun children’s smartwatches.

They immediately made a secret resolution.

They would work hard, harder, and even harder in the subsequent matches to strive for a prize of their own!

The second event of the Fun Sports Meet was Dragon Emerging from the Sea¹, which was the so-called legged race.

The seventeen people were divided into three groups: two groups of six people and one group of five.

The specific grouping was decided by drawing lots.

With the warm-up from the first event, everyone’s condition was noticeably better when the second event began.

Not only were the onlookers on-site constantly cheering for the three groups.

Even the viewers in the two active live-stream rooms were continuously shouting encouragement in the bullet comments.

Led by someone unknown, everyone even started participating in guessing games.

The screen was flooded with discussions about which group would win this round of the legged race.

…

Soon, it was time for the third event, the ping-pong ball obstacle course, the fourth event, the tug-of-war, and the fifth event, the short-distance race.

In the third event’s obstacle course, Gu Cheng took first place.

The second event’s legged race and the fourth event’s tug-of-war were both team championships.

Because there were many winners for the team championships, the prizes Feng Xiao provided for them were large snack gift bags.

They were the kind of massive snack bags that were half a person tall, filled with various nuts, dried fruits, pork jerky, green peas, and so on. They were incredibly rich and had everything.

The fifth event was the short-distance race.

In the short-distance race, Su Chao, Song Zhao, Liu Miaomiao, Gu Cheng, and Su Tao all participated.

Originally, Su Tao had not planned to participate.

She felt that track and field events would be quite tiring to join.

However, Lu Qingqiang had long ago discovered her inexplicable talent for track and field.

After all, she was the eternal, undefeated champion of the canteen.

So, Lu Qingqiang specifically found Master Zhao in private and gave him some instructions.

The reason Su Tao signed up for the short-distance race was entirely because she was lured by the peach-shaped yogurt mousse cake Master Zhao mentioned.

Master Zhao also told Su Tao something else.

If Su Tao could take first place in the short-distance race, he would also cook a dish of Buddha Jumps Over the Wall for her.

After saying this, Master Zhao described the ingredients and flavor of Buddha Jumps Over the Wall to Su Tao in detail, as if telling a story.

After listening, Su Tao couldn’t help but drool.

To get that Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, she had made up her mind!

In today’s short-distance race, she would definitely work hard, harder, and even harder!

As long as she didn’t run herself to death, she would run like her life depended on it!

Brave the path to first! Charge straight for first place!
