Chapter 47: We Won’t Eat; From Now On, Ingredients from the Magic Plane Can Be Directly…

    “What was that noise?”

“It feels like there are a lot of people walking around outside,” Bai Xi said, walking to the door and peering through the peephole. “Eldest Sister, there really are people out there, and quite a lot of them.”

“Did the people from downstairs come up? Why aren’t they staying on their own floors? What are they doing up here?” As Bai Yu spoke, she opened the video feed that showed several rooms downstairs. After looking, she let out a soft “Huh?” and counted carefully once more. She said in surprise, “The people in the rooms downstairs are all accounted for. So who’s outside the door…”

The two sisters shared a look.

Bai Yu also walked to the door and looked through the peephole. After watching for a moment, she said seriously, “These people aren’t our tenants.”

“Their colors aren’t right either,” Bai Xi said, opening her panel. “With colors like those, they don’t look like good people. They must have discovered the rental situation here and come over?”

“Someone from downstairs probably went out to find supplies and was spotted, so they were followed back secretly,” Bai Yu said.

As she spoke, a voice came from one of the rooms.

“I’m sorry. I was so careful, I didn’t think they would still follow me. I’m so stupid. If it wasn’t for me, they never would have found this place. I’m sorry, I’m really sorry.”

“It’s not your fault. We’ve been going out more frequently these past few days; it’s normal to be discovered.”

“That’s right. And once they spot us, they’ll do everything they can to track us down. You might not have noticed because they likely targeted you from the very start.”

“The problem now is that they’re blocking the way outside. What are we supposed to do next? We can’t go out like this.”

“Staying in the room for a while isn’t a big problem. We can use our Room Cards to exchange for food and firewood, and we still have some supplies to pay the rent. The main issue is we don’t know how long they’ll stay out there. If they plan to squat here indefinitely, it’ll be hard to deal with.”

“Then we’re finished. Once they realize how good it is here, they’ll likely stay forever.”

Just as the words fell, a massive bang suddenly echoed from somewhere.

Bai Yu adjusted the screen. Soon, the footage showed the situation outside the doors downstairs. Someone was holding a huge rock, smashing it against a door over and over again.

Every time the rock hit the door, a loud boom resonated. Every person in every room could likely hear the sound.

After another loud bang, Bai Miao trembled in fear.

Bai Yu immediately knelt down and held her tight. Watching the person on the screen repeatedly smashing the door with the rock, she frowned and said angrily, “How can someone act like this?”

“Exactly! Why are they smashing someone else’s door? Don’t they know you can’t just mess with other people’s things?!” Bai Xi said indignantly, rolling up her sleeves. “Eldest Sister, I want to go out and give them a beating. I’m strong; I can definitely take them!”

Right then, a sound even louder than the previous ones rang out.

Bai Xi looked at the screen in confusion.

Bai Yu pulled at her, pointing out the window. “The sound came from over there.”

They had noticed the anomaly, and the people downstairs noticed it too. Someone looked out the window and cried out in alarm, “Oh no, the wind is back!”

The windows of the house were tightly shut, so the wind couldn’t blow inside. They could only judge the wind’s intensity by the objects being swept up outside. From the current situation, this gust was just as violent as the previous one.

And this time, through the window, they saw human-shaped objects being swept up in the distance.

They hoped it wasn’t people, but… as the objects were carried further and further away, it became increasingly difficult to see what they were.

“I still don’t understand. We aren’t even by the sea, so how can there be such strong winds?” Bai Xi’s anger shifted because of the sudden wind. She leaned against the window to look out. “Back when we lived inland, we never saw winds this big, big enough to sweep up houses.”

Bai Miao mirrored her posture and spoke up immediately. “Wind is a natural phenomenon. One part of the process is caused by solar radiation, which leads to uneven heating of the Earth’s surface. This creates differences in air temperature, resulting in a certain pressure gradient. Air moves horizontally from high-pressure areas to low-pressure areas…”

As she spoke, both Bai Yu and Bai Xi looked at her in shock.

Bai Miao looked up. “It was in a book.”

“Even if it’s from a book, it’s still amazing. Miao Miao actually memorized it all,” Bai Yu praised, though she was still a bit puzzled. “So, what is solar radiation?”

Bai Xi leaned in to ask, “And what is air pressure?”

Bai Miao blinked once, then twice.

Bai Yu knew then that she had only memorized the content without actually knowing what it meant. She said with a smile, “It’s okay if you don’t understand now. Your Eldest Sister and Second Sister don’t understand either. We’ll just read a few more books, and maybe one day we’ll know. Then Miao Miao can teach us.”

“That’s right. At least we know… wind is a natural phenomenon,” Bai Xi said, not knowing how else to respond. She thought for a moment and added, “But is what Miao Miao said like a rock rolling from a high place to a low place? Wind also has to go from high to low, like that high pressure to low pressure thing?”

Bai Yu nodded. “I think that must be it.”

Bai Miao never doubted her sisters’ words. Seeing that Bai Yu agreed, she immediately looked at Bai Xi, her eyes full of admiration. “Second Sister is so smart.”

Bai Xi smiled sheepishly. “I didn’t really say much.”

The three amateurs discussed things none of them understood, yet they didn’t feel anything was wrong. Instead, they felt as if they had gained new knowledge. Although this new knowledge was useless for the moment, at least they had learned something.

While they were talking, they suddenly heard screams coming from outside.

Hurrying to the door to look through the peephole again, Bai Xi let out a cry. “Eldest Sister… Eldest Sister, they were blown away.”

“How? The windows downstairs are closed!”

“Not all of them. The windows on several floors were left open.”

As they spoke, they looked at the footage of the lower floors again.

The people inside the rooms were just like them, looking through their peepholes with visible shock. Meanwhile, the people outside were helplessly wrapped in the wind and swept rapidly down the stairs, flying out through an open window on one of the floors. They vanished in an instant.

Even the rocks these people had brought were swept up and disappeared along with them.

This was the first time the three sisters had directly faced the terror of this wind.

When the wind had blown through last time, they knew it was scary, but because the things it swept away were far from them, the disaster felt distant. Now, these people had vanished right before their eyes.

Against such a massive wind, few would dare to face it head-on.

“Eldest Sister, I want to go back to the island.” Bai Xi grabbed Bai Yu’s hand.

Bai Yu nodded and had Bai Miao take out the Transit Pass.

The three of them soon returned to the island.

Compared to the catastrophic gales of the New Plane, the island, where it only rained heavily from time to time, seemed exceptionally peaceful. Being back in a familiar environment, they all breathed a sigh of relief.

Bai Miao also recovered quickly. her attention was soon drawn to the two small wolves running toward them, and she took the cubs aside to play in the dirt.

“I thought I was already very strong, but I’m still not strong enough,” Bai Xi said, patting her chest with lingering fear. “With wind that big, even with our strength, we wouldn’t be able to handle it, right?”

Bai Yu nodded. “We would definitely be swept away.”

“That wind feels even stronger than the Magic Beasts in the Magic Plane,” Bai Xi frowned. “Magic Beasts are powerful, but they move step by step. If you need to run, you can still get away. But when a wind that big comes, you might not even have time to hide.”

The two looked at each other, reaching a mutual agreement.

“Let’s not go there if we don’t have to. We’ll make fewer trips.”

    “Mhm!”

Afterward, Bai Yu went to call for Bai Miao. “Miao Miao, let’s go to the Magic Plane to cultivate.”

“Can I bring the little wolves with me?” Bai Miao grabbed the ears of the two wolves, one in each hand, and stood up while lifting them.

“Then you must train them well. You can’t let them run around blindly.”

“They’re very good, they definitely won’t run around,” Bai Miao said as she approached while carrying the two wolves. “Eldest Sister, let’s feed the little wolves things from the Magic Plane too, so they grow faster.”

“Why do you want them to grow faster?” Bai Yu asked.

“To ride them,” Bai Miao said, lifting the wolves high. “The books say people can ride horses, tigers, and lions. Once the wolves grow up, we can ride them too. When the time comes, we can ride the wolves to the market.”

“Is that possible?” Bai Yu hesitated.

Bai Miao nodded. “The books say it’s possible.”

Bai Yu didn’t doubt her further and nodded. “Then we’ll go to the Magic Plane and feed the wolves some food from over there.”

As they spoke, the three of them arrived inside the house on the Magic Plane.

This house had undergone several upgrades and was already much larger than it had been at the beginning. It was more than enough for the three of them, but now that there were two wolves, the space felt a bit smaller. Bai Yu had Bai Miao take out another Upgrade Card to upgrade the stone house once more.

With this upgrade, a kitchen with a pot was added to the house.

It wasn’t an iron pot, but a pot they had exchanged from Nancy a few days ago. They didn’t know what material it was made of. After they got it, they had just piled it up with the rest of the items. Since the card included this during the upgrade, they simply used it.

With this pot placed here, ingredients from the Magic Plane could be cooked directly in this spot from now on.

    Bai Xi was very happy.

“Let’s use this pot exclusively to cook things for the animals to eat. Otherwise, using the pot back on the island feels strange. After cooking so much, it feels like the island’s pot has developed a weird smell.”

Bai Miao understood what she meant and quickly covered her mouth.

“Yeah, it’s the taste of the ingredients from the Magic Plane, it’s terrible,” Bai Xi said, shaking her head with a frown. “It’s better now. Two pots for two different purposes, the flavors won’t mix.”

Bai Yu thought for a moment. “So, is it possible that if we eat more food containing magic from this plane, we could also improve our magic quickly?”

The moment those words were spoken, both Bai Xi and Bai Miao shook their heads repeatedly.

Bai Miao even waved her hands while shaking her head. “Not eating it, not eating it.”

“I won’t cook food that tastes bad,” Bai Xi said solemnly. “Besides, the way the people here eat might not necessarily be right. It’s all cultivation, but the people in the White Mist Plane don’t need to eat at all. We aren’t just cultivating magic, we’re also cultivating Spiritual Qi. It’s different.”

Bai Yu was successfully convinced by her two younger sisters. “Alright, then we won’t eat those things.”
